The original film on which this short is based, "The Effacement," was stopped indefinitely due to unforeseen circumstances. It wasn't until director/writer Dustin Willis noticed two characters in the script's subplot that were ultimately more interesting than the overall storyline itself. Those characters were Aiden and Cassie.
