This first two to three episodes weren't doing it for me. The start of the series is chaotic, supporting characters were annoying for me at first, and the plot felt over the top. I mean, beer isn't interesting to me at all. But I like Kim Se Jeong, and the premise of the show - what it means to not fit into the concept of normal and socially defined gender roles - was intriguing enough to keep me hooked. After all, beer and toxic masculinity kind of go hand in hand, it makes sense to choose this setting when you think about it.
Passing the first episodes, even the initially annoying characters started to grow on me, and the two main characters are just amazing: warm-hearted, a bit broken, likable, but not without flaws. I love a totally non-toxic, attentive male lead and a tough female lead (and I mean really tough, I totally believe the ex-Special Forces part, the way she dresses and walks gives her character real depth). All I need from a RomCom is, apart from good characters, some laughter and a heart pounding love story, and with an empathetic green flag male lead like this, your heart beats with his every time he looks at her. Honestly, the way he talks and observes and portrays feelings, Lee Jong Won delivers his hyper sensible character close to perfection. I like slow building romance, and for me, the pacing was perfect, and the kisses are worth the wait (which says a lot for a Kdrama, we all know that).
Rarely enough, RomComs portray healthy relationships with genuine care for each other and honest communication (or rather the necessity of honest communication in a relationship), and although some details could have been done better, I still enjoyed the love story after the two main leads got together. Their problems aren't forced; they make sense for the characters.
Still, even with only 12 episodes, the last two are a bit lacking. The main story about launching a new beer drags on too much instead of shifting the focus more to the character development and the ending. It's still a good watch, just not as intense as the middle part, with a few issues just glossed over.
I genuinely enjoyed the show, even though it's not perfect. The side stories balance out the plot well without overdoing it, and the love story delivers what I need from it. I love the two leads and their relationship, the portrayal of gender roles and how the show questions normality. With this in mind I can look over the less interesting main plot and the weaker first and last episodes and just enjoy watching the love story unfold.

The adorable Kim Sejeong plays Chae Young-ju who is an ex special forces soldier who now works in a brewery and is tasked with getting a brewmaster to work with and create a beer for her company. The problem is that the brewmaster Yoon Min-ju (Lee Jong-won) isolates himself from the world due to his extreme sensitivity to other peoples emotions. This is a gentle romantic drama in which we learn a lot about hops and the basics of beer brewing and the work involved. It has a strong supporting cast who all do a good job and has some amusing moments but overall it is just a gentle easy going drama which is watchable but not that memorable.
You may find the first two episodes rather slow because they introduce the characters. But trust me, it only gets better.
Kim Sejeong just proved she's a capable actress, and I never knew her chemistry with Jong Won would be so great. Not only serve looks but he is a whole green forest in Brewing Love.
The supporting characters also seem fun and make the drama more colorful. Although the storyline is about making beer, the way the PD develops the plot is beautiful. It shows how the characters fall in love and find comfort in each other's presence.
The series is only 12 episodes long, so please give it a try and enjoy the show.

"Brewing Love" is undeniably a sweet and charming watch. Lee Jong Won's Yun Min Ju, he truly brought a captivating and adorable energy to the screen, making it easy to become invested in his character. While the overall storyline might not be the most groundbreaking or complex, its inherent cuteness and lightheartedness make it an enjoyable and fun way to spend your time.
The chemistry between the leads, including the second couple, was definitely a highlight, creating a comforting and heartwarming atmosphere. The emotional connection between Chae Yung Ju and Kim Min Ju was beautifully portrayed, and the way they supported each other in moments of pain was truly touching. It's those small, tender moments, like Yun Min Ju always wearing a hair tie on his wrist, that added to the overall charm and made the drama so endearing.

Brewing Love is truly a gem among dramas. From the very first episode, it captures your heart with its warm storytelling, lovable characters, and unique charm. I can confidently say that this drama deserves all the attention it can get. The story is engaging, heartwarming, and full of moments that will keep you hooked. Every episode feels like a journey into a world of emotions, and there's never a dull moment.
What I love most about this drama is the incredible chemistry between the leads. Their interactions are so natural and heartfelt that you can't help but root for them. The way they look at each other, the subtle gestures, and those small, tender moments-everything about their relationship feels magical. Their love story is not only sweet but also realistic, filled with ups and downs that make it all the more captivating. Honestly, some scenes are so touching that they'll make your heart flutter 💓💓.
The characters in Brewing Love are another highlight. Each one is beautifully written, with their own unique personality and struggles. The male lead is charming, strong, and caring, while the female lead is kind-hearted, determined, and relatable. Together, they make a perfect pair. Despite their differences, they complement each other so well, and watching their relationship grow is an absolute joy. I especially loved how the drama explores their vulnerabilities and allows their bond to develop naturally over time. Their interactions are filled with warmth, humor, and sincerity that will leave you smiling.
But it's not just the main leads who shine in this drama. The supporting characters are equally wonderful, each adding depth and richness to the story. From the loyal friends who bring laughter to the wise mentors who offer guidance, every character plays an essential role in making this drama truly special. The relationships between the characters feel genuine and heartfelt, adding layers of emotion to the narrative.
The pacing of the drama is another aspect worth mentioning. It's perfectly balanced, with just the right mix of romance, comedy, and drama. The episodes flow seamlessly, keeping you invested in the story while leaving you eager for more. There's a sense of warmth and comfort that runs throughout the drama, making it a perfect watch for anyone looking for a feel-good series.
One of my favorite things about Brewing Love is the attention to detail in the storytelling. Every scene feels carefully crafted, from the beautiful cinematography to the heartfelt dialogues. The setting of the drama, with its cozy coffee shops and serene brewing rooms, adds to its charm. It creates an atmosphere that feels both comforting and romantic, drawing you into the world of the characters.
And let's not forget the emotions! This drama has a way of tugging at your heartstrings, making you laugh, cry, and fall in love along with the characters. It's a rollercoaster of feelings that leaves you completely immersed in the story. There are moments that will make you smile uncontrollably, scenes that will bring tears to your eyes, and others that will leave you breathless with anticipation.
As I eagerly wait for the next episodes, I can't help but feel excited to see how the story unfolds. The drama has already set such a high standard with its amazing storytelling, memorable characters, and beautiful romance. I have no doubt that it will continue to surprise and delight us in the episodes to come. If you haven't started watching Brewing Love yet, I highly recommend it. This is the kind of drama that stays with you long after the final episode, leaving you with a warm heart and a big smile.
In conclusion, Brewing Love is a drama that truly stands out. It's a perfect blend of romance, comedy, and heartfelt moments that will capture your heart. The incredible chemistry between the leads, the lovable characters, and the engaging story make it a must-watch. I'm completely in love with this drama and can't wait to see how it all ends 💕💕💕💕.
