If you're a fan of action-packed series with a dash of comedy and a powerful villain, this one ticks many boxes. The cast delivers solid performances, and the chemistry between characters keeps you engaged. However, the biggest letdown is the pacing - what could've wrapped up neatly in 10 or 11 episodes was unnecessarily stretched to 16, making the middle episodes feel a bit dragged.
Despite that, the action sequences were top-notch, and the villain absolutely stole the show with a gripping presence that left a lasting impact. The series balances comedy and intensity well, and while it's not perfect, it's still a fun watch if you have the patience.

If you're in the mood for a drama packed with adrenaline-pumping action, "Goodboy" delivers from the get-go. While the first episode dedicates a significant chunk of its runtime (approximately 90 minutes) to character introductions, this extended build-up ultimately pays off with a powerful and impactful unveiling of its main players.
Park Bogum, in particular, shines with his comedic timing and surprising display of raw strength early on. Viewers will be impressed by his physical prowess, evident in several scenes in Episode 1. And prepare for a truly unique and exhilarating car chase sequence - one that defies expectations with a character literally "stuck to the car on foot!" The sheer excitement of this moment is something you truly have to experience to appreciate.
But while Episode 1 lays a solid foundation, Episode 2 is an absolute must-watch. Without giving away any spoilers, this installment escalates the stakes and propels the narrative forward in a way that will leave you eagerly anticipating what comes next. It's the kind of episode that solidifies "Goodboy" as a drama to keep an eye on.
In summary, "Goodboy" promises to be a thrilling ride. Despite a somewhat lengthy introductory phase, the payoff is worth it, delivering strong character moments and genuinely exciting action. Be sure to clear your schedule for Episode 2 - you won't want to miss it.

I like the drama of Kimsohyun from 2021 when I was only 17 years old. Just watched School 2015 and fell in love with her from that time... Now, She is doing Ji Han-Na role and I loving it... Because it is the first time where she is portraying Action Hero + Romance Lead lady... It is amazing... Can't believe she is only 26 years old. 😢... Her others Notable work like:
1. River where the moon rises
2. School 2015
3. Pure love / Unforgettable
4. Bring it on, Ghost
5. Love alarm Season 1
Parkbogum, I don't have words to praise your acting.. just want to say, Thank you for exist.
BOL to GB team👍

After watching the first four episodes, the versatility that Park Bo Gum has portrayed in his acting is exemplary. I am in awe to see him in this action-packed role in Good Boy with his hardened gaze, unlike the ones filled with his doe-like, love-filled eyes. No doubt he is the prince of romantic dramas, but his performance in this action series is a brilliant display of his talent. The stark contrast that his character, Yoon Dong Ju, conveyed while punching the hell out of the bad guys and the way he is totally whipped for Ji Han Na, is one of the many Maeryok (charming) points of Park Bo Gum in this series.
The variety and growth he has shown in his recent drama picks like When Life gives you tangerines and Good Boy, have filled my heart with immense satisfaction and pride. I remember in Record of Youth, one of his previous dramas, particularly at the ending of episode 4, a scene of him as a villain and beating up the guys. I was amazed to see the change in his expression (from all smiles to badass villain) and the way he handled that scene was flawless and very impactful. I wanted to see him more in such a character (something intense and fierce). This series actually fulfills it and even exceeds it. I hope the story line remains as strong as it is now. I loved the other characters too. However, this review is only for Park Bo Gum. Couldn't resist writing it!

I am really enjoying this show! Every episode has been very entertaining and without any dull parts! The show is action packed, full of funny moments, heartfelt story lines, and the backstory of each character is very fascinating! You just want to know more. The show also does a really great job at developing the characters and making sure you understand where they are at in their lives and what brought them to their decisions. The cinematography is great as well! They really paid attention to small details to make you feel like you're in the show. The actors do a great job of expressing the feelings of their character too. I love this show!

I wanted to watch this because Park Bo-Gum is one of my favourite actors - he has proven that he can take on much any role and do it credit. In this he is a gold medal winning boxer who joins the police force along with other sports stars to form a criminal fighting team. They all use their particular abilities in dealing with crimes. There has to be an arch villain of course - and it comes in the form of another excellent actor Oh Jung-Se who is the kingpin of the drug business protected by those very high in politics. The story is a virtual dual between these two men.
The problem is that there are far too many fights against impossible odds - and our hero would never survive the beatings he receives. There is of course the obligatory love triangle - but I see no chemistry between Dong-Ju and Han-na - he does his best but she is not responsive at all.
The comedy is Korean - which Westerners may find childish. The scenes of Dong-Ju stuffing whole eggs into his mouth and other food is somewhat off putting - I have seen this in other series and I am not sure if it is meant to be comedic.
I am struggling to continue to watch it - every scene seems to be the same now.
Park Bo-gum certainly earns his money - it is a very active part for him to play - if I continue to watch it will only be for him.

Two months of anxiety, week after week. We had great romance, with both leades exploding chemistry, BADASS ACTION - like those ones that keep you super tense, I particularly had my heart skipping beats in some of them - thrilling soundtracks, good visual effects that didn't disconnect me even once, amazing performances from a bunch of charismatic and talented actors, and a super well written story with such good characters. Episode 12 was so heavy and gave so much nervousness that I had to pause multiple times for breathing. Bro PARK BO-GUM IS INSANE. The whole cast is good, actually and the way the lift up this story is wonderful. Until Stranger Things 5 comes out, this will keep being the best 2025 show for me. Thanks JTBC for this masterpiece, what a great work!

The series kicks off with a promising start, boasting an engaging premise and well-executed action sequences that are perfectly complemented by a fitting soundtrack. However, as the series progresses, the momentum seems to wane, culminating in a somewhat underwhelming ending.
One of the standout aspects is the action, which is meticulously choreographed and injects a dose of excitement into the narrative. The music seamlessly integrates with these scenes, amplifying their impact.
Unfortunately, the main lead, Park Bo-gum, falls short in terms of relatability, often coming across as irritating due to his character's traits and actions. Moreover, the chemistry between the main leads feels somewhat forced and lacking, which detracts from the overall viewing experience.
Despite its flaws, the series has its moments, thanks in part to the supporting cast and action sequences. With some fine-tuning in character development and improving the lead chemistry, the series could have reached its full potential.

I enjoyed the first 2 episodes. I thought the storyline idea might be interesting. It's basically about a police force recruiting the best former athletes of South Korea. Also, I loved Park Bo Gum from When Life Gives you Tangerines hence started watching this show. I tried to get into it but the show was getting so repetitive with repeat reckless action scenes that were not necessary. There is also no chemistry at all with the team. I had to stop watching from episode 8. That is only halfway to finishing the show. However, I don't think I will be able to finish all 16 episodes. It was painful.

Great drama! Recommended ✅
The ending is not enough for the whole drama yet it's worth it to watch. Everyone's actions+ acting was mind blowing. Action+ crime + comedy + 10% for romance is enough to give you entertainment. 👌🏻You can watch it with your family. No 18+ contain. This drama represents current politics + sports members situation in every country. 💔 Park bo goum as always the best actor. His acting out of the syllabus. You can't tag this drama as a romantic. In my opinion, there is only one thing that I found wrong with this drama. The bonding between the hero and heroine needed to be shown more deeply. Moreover, it 💯 out of 💯

Good Boy presents a gritty, emotionally charged tale where Olympic medalists join a special police task force to fight crime. Through 16 episodes, the story unravels Yoon Dong-ju's journey from gold-medal boxer to justice-seeking officer, blending social commentary, trauma, and redemption. The pacing stumbles occasionally, but the layered narrative and emotional flashbacks elevate the storytelling.
The series shines in its genre-blending ambition, merging high-octane action with heartfelt introspection. Choreographed fight scenes, urban noir visuals, and a haunting soundtrack create an immersive world. Themes of brotherhood, corruption, and sacrifice are deftly handled, making the emotional stakes real and affecting.
Acting across the board is stellar. Kim So-hyun blends strength with raw emotion. Oh Jung-se delivers menace with chilling precision, while Lee Sang-yi adds comic charm and heart. Heo Sung-tae's calm authority anchors the team. Each actor enriches the story with nuanced performances, making their characters memorable and their struggles relatable.
Topping this strong ensemble is Park Bo-gum, whose performance becomes the emotional core of the series. In Good Boy, he's visceral, volatile, and haunted; strikingly different from his gentle, hopeful character in When Life Gives You Tangerines. This duality proves his incredible range, pivoting from serene charm to stormy intensity with ease.
A compelling mix of action and emotion, Good Boy is a 2025 K-drama standout. Its unique premise, powerful performances, and emotional weight make it a must-watch. Prime Video has a winner on its hands.

The drama has just shown its 2 episodes. I thought the drama would open in their glorious days in olympics instead it began with their boring , routine life, mocking by colleagues bc of their background (nepotism) and a little somewhat failed life just what happened to Dongju. The opening was fierce, full of actions, at the same time hilarious bc of Mansik and Dongju.
Now, what I love with drama is the fast pacing of it. A viewer needs to watch carefully because scenes are happening fastly but not in a way that it is not interrelated with each other. For me there is no boring scenes and the hours get by fastly that it is always ended with cliffhanger scene Another one is the cast, Ahh, bow to Bogum, he really grow up. His fighting scenes are all flawless. His movements are fast. Unlike when I'm watching Cdrama, I can know that it was practice and was not natural.
Bogum's acting here is insane, but not gonna lie, I am used to Bogum's characters that is organized, well Prince Lee Yeong is a little bit stubborn but Dongju is super stubborn, super freestyle, tatty impulsive but he has that fairness in his personality.
Kim Sohyun, she is like Angelina Jolie, whe she hold her guns she is a bad ass, her acting is flawless and she is so pretty.
Sangyi is just flawless by his character. He is a little cold, neat personality, a fencer should be.
Seungte is so hilarious, his makes me laugh all the time but his life is also full of sad stories.
Wonseok, he is big, his acting is in point, his delivery is amazing.
I love the flow of the scenes, I love the cinematography, i love the action scenes, their dialogues. I hope the pacing will keep until the end.
What I unlike (this is just a joke 🤣) is I am not used to seeing Bogum not neat and stubborn and impulsive aside from the little scenes in LITM (lol) so I am getting use to it slowly but what I'm finding myself is I always ijboling whenever he is doing things with his TL Mansik. Their duo is hilarious and Im always nervous whrn he is in the midst of his altercation. Ahh, my heart
I love Bogum and I'm always grateful that he is always challenging himself to do better and taking different genre for drama and movie.
I wish all the best to Park BoGum, Kim Sohyun, Lee Sangyi, Go Mansik, Seo Wontaek and to all of GOODBOY's entire team.
Kamsahamnidah!!!

I really liked the plot and how everyone acted. The action scenes were wery good. It was obvious that actors worked hard to do so.
But there were so many strange decision from main characters which make me really angry. It' like in the horror movie, when yoi scream on the screen, do not go there! 😏
It doesn't make any sence. I do not want to spoil anything, but I think everyone must know what I am talking about. Why not to run, when you can use a car. Why not to jump off the ship, you better fight for your life. Sheesh...
In description they say it should be a comedy, yeah, but a bit dark comedy with strange behavour of main character, you have to deal with it. Sometimes it's not even funny, but sometimes it's good. :) And still there are some sad moment. But I recomend to watch, it is not that bad... it's simple.
So it was good, but you have to count with: WHAT THE HELL moments.

Good Boy is a true gem among recent K-dramas - a gripping story brought to life by outstanding performances and captivating direction.
One of the standout performances comes from Ji Hanna, who portrays a complex and emotionally rich character. She delivers a truly compelling performance, with subtle expressions and powerful emotional depth. Whether she's conveying quiet strength or vulnerability, Ji Hanna commands every scene she's in. This role is undoubtedly one of the highlights of her career - nuanced, layered, and unforgettable.
Another major highlight of the drama is the chemistry between Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun. Their on-screen connection is electric - you can feel the tension and warmth in every glance, every word, and even in the silences. They complement each other beautifully, with Park Bo-gum's quiet intensity and Kim So-hyun's graceful charm creating a dynamic that feels incredibly authentic and moving.
Good Boy isn't just a drama - it's an emotional experience, thanks in large part to these brilliant performances.

Starring Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun, Good Boy is a story of group of Olympic players, who are now part of police force through a special recruitment program.
The drama is a blend of humour, action and romance. A group of police force forms a unit to catch a criminal mastermind that has every person under his control. The cast and the premise is promising, however with some flaws.
The premise is well-built but the episodes felt too stretched out, the characters are well written but feels one dimensional at times. The action choreography is very good and keeps you hooked to the screen. Oh Jung Se as the antagonist is the show stealer. His facial expressions and dialogue delivery was commendable. The romance scenes between the ML and FL were a little more than required. The production is good and many scenes are creatively shot.
The plot is fairly straightforward. Money + Greed = Corruption. Crime pays -> do more crime. Our team are earnest but they are mostly incidental heroes. The police is inept most of the time and is always one step behind. Hence the need for our Band of Misfits.
Overall, Good Boy is a good cop action drama that blends action and humour. Although it's far away from being a great show, it's a fun-to-watch drama that will entertain you for sure.
My Rating : 7.5/10.

It was the best series i had watch also i keep on repeating it before the new episode were posted it was great. Kim so hyun and park bo gum was a nice love team. They make the series more interesting. I just can't get enough watching it. The flow of this story is very interesting. There's no boring episode in here. It's fun and entertaining. If i have given the chance to erase my memory about this series I'll do it just to watch it again and again. Kim so hyun and park bo gum has the best chemistry. Even way back 2018 they have the best chemistry on hosting. It was great seeing them together in this drama.

Forcing a conclusion, the plot drags on, failing to portray the characters in the show to their fullest extent, but the portrayal of the truth is excellent, and the villain's acting left a lasting impression on me. I also really enjoyed the interactions between a few characters in the show, such as the team leader's performance and that of the other four members, as I was impressed.

Those who gave ten star are bots this the worst kdrama i saw in my life.
I had high hopes for Good Boy, especially given the buzz around its unique premise and popular cast. Unfortunately, the show is a classic case of style over substance. From the very first episode, it's clear the writers are unsure of the tone-what starts off as a revenge-driven sports drama quickly spirals into a confusing blend of melodrama, action, and awkward attempts at comedy.
Jung Hae-in, though charming as always, is totally wasted in a role that feels one-dimensional. His character, supposedly a national hero turned "Boxing Hero," is written without any real depth. The trauma he supposedly carries is mentioned often but rarely shown in a meaningful way. The other characters, particularly his teammates, are forgettable and underdeveloped. They feel more like props than people, existing only to fill screen time.
The pacing is another major issue. Some episodes drag on with filler scenes and repetitive training montages, while others rush through emotional moments that should have been explored more carefully. The dialogue is frequently cliché, and the show relies far too heavily on slow-motion shots and dramatic music to force emotion where the script fails to deliver it naturally.
To make things worse, the boxing scenes-which should have been the highlight-are poorly choreographed and often lack intensity. They don't capture the physical or emotional stakes you'd expect from a series built around fighting.
Overall, Good Boy feels like a wasted opportunity. It had potential with its Olympic tie-in and revenge angle, but ultimately it's just another forgettable drama that tries to do too much and ends up doing none of it well. Save your time and skip this one-there are far better K-dramas out there.

This TV show is worth watching. Each police officer has a different mission built from their background, personality, connections... I know some of the actors in this movie like Park Bogum and Kim So-Huyn. I think this is their first action movie and it was so good, this breakthrough move makes fans more curious about them. Each episode follows a sequence, the range of emotions from low to high, there are many thrilling scenes in some episodes and the most surprising is in episode 13 that made me wow. Can't wait to watch episode 14 💪. I would recommend this TV show for everyone. Hope you guys enjoys it.
