This show is ok. It's much more soapy interpersonal relationships in a hospital setting vs. Medical/patient focused drama. And coming in the heels of The Pitt, it really didn't stand much a chance.

The lead actress is meh, however the actors/actresses who play Dr's Chan, Cruz and Simms (leads sister) are very good.

It's watchable, but not riveting/memorable. Good background show.

I kept getting confused with the (Australian?) doctor - I thought there were two of them, so idk what that says about what they're doing with him. Also the inappropriate relationship tropes have been done so much that it's just Grey's in a different city.

It's decent. Ok it's not gonna win awards but it's enjoyable. Stop comparing it to other shows and enjoy it for what it is. Acting isn't bad at all, scripts are a little predictable but it's enjoyable and entertaining. The only issue I had with it (I binged it in one day) was the time jumping back and forth with flashbacks. Made it a bit confusing as to whether you were in past or present. Totally recognising some character traits from people I've worked with. People saying it's dull - no it's pretty close to real life! It's not as far fetched as other medical shows. Shame it came out at a similar time as The Pitt (I'm in uk and haven't got it yet) so everyone watching both are comparing!

I need to preface this by saying while I'm not a medical professional, I have unfortunately spent a lot of time as a patient in E. D.s and the medical writing here is not bad. It seems fairly accurate. In other words they say the right things. So the show has that going for it.

I haven't seen The Pitt, which everyone is raving about right now. But I have watched most medical dramas since "E. R." because I enjoy them. There've been some good ones lately (for example, "Transplant" is a hidden gem and much better than this series).

I watched all ten episodes of Pulse in a day. I usually don't do that but I did want to say that I finished the "season".

This is despite the fact I did not at all like many of the characters including the lead (female) doctor -- Danny Simms. I found her incredibly annoying and never really understood (and I tried!) what her numerous problems are. She is just incredibly unlikable.

There are similar issues with the other major characters. I feel incredibly ambivalent about them and in the end did not at all find Doctors Phillips, Cole and Elijah likable or even relatable. Basically they are, all of them, not very nice people. There's nothing really redeeming about them.

But I shine a light on the Simms character as she's so prominent in this show and is just such an unpleasant person.

There are a couple of characters that I did like: Luis and Gabriel (both are RNs and I think Luis is the Charge Nurse -- an important role in the E. D.).

So the character drama part of this show pretty much sucks. The medical part is not bad and in fact I did get caught up in the stories of the patients. But those stories are secondary to the character drama plots and they are not enough to carry this series.

I also very much like the music.

The timey-wimey aspect where we see flashbacks did not bother me -- it seems it has become fairly standard and they do "warn" you with various clues so you're not surprised.

Bottom line is that I'm not looking forward to another season of this.

After watching it, I have only one question... What was that even supposed to be? Why - and more importantly, how - did Netflix release something in this condition? They have a post-production team, right? How could they allow such an unfinished, raw product to go public?

This is unacceptable.

Let's start with the main point: 80% of the project is full of mistakes.

Everything feels incomplete. The medical storyline is more of a circus than proper drama. The characters' personal lives? Empty - just like the characters themselves: underdeveloped, filled with forced drama and not a single genuine emotion. Chemistry between the lead actors? Forget it - it simply doesn't exist. As for the supporting characters, there are way too many of them. They only overcomplicate the story without moving the plot forward.

This should've been a feature-length film - tight, focused, and concentrated. Instead, they stretched it into a series for no good reason. The result? It's neither ER, nor Grey's Anatomy, nor The Resident, nor House, nore Pitt ... The casting is awful. The acting? Like something out of a school play. The dialogues are written just for the sake of talking - meaningless, with no rhythm or purpose.

And the flashbacks? There are way too many. So many that by the end, they become nauseating.

If I had to point out a positive, it would be a nod to the director - a few scenes managed to shine through and show a sense of style, despite everything.

And, of course, Willa Fitzgerald - my absolute favorite. If it weren't for her, I would've stopped watching during the exposition. She's the only one who carried this entire mess. As always - professionalism, charisma, and that smile. Bravo. Keep it up.

Started off strong, ended... well, on a literal wave - that's how the series closes.

Okay, coming from a nurse this is not exactly what I would call medically accurate. I physically have to look away when they are doing compressions on patients because they are not NEARLY deep enough to actually save someone's life. However, I can look past some of the inaccuracies of the medical portrayals since I'm aware this may not be super obvious to non health care workers.

That being said, the drama is what kept me watching. Everything is average including the special effects, acting, etc., but it's a nice show to throw on if you've got nothing better to do since it has many interpersonal relationships within the character storylines. I enjoy watching the different personalities of the characters and am interested in learning more of their personal storylines if it gets renewed for another season.

When I first started this show, I didn't know if I would like it, but I decided to give it a chance, and by the end of the episode, I couldn't stop watching it; I was hooked. And the actors can actually act. I hate it when a great show has bad actors. It ruins it and makes it hard to watch, but I felt every emotion with the actors, and I like seeing actors/actresses I don't recognize. Also, having a disabled actress is a really great representation that we just don't see enough of.

I'm so glad I watched it. It's not like a lot of the other doctor shows, and with a season two, I really think it will thrive.

Look I'm no doctor so I'm not sure if my review is valid but I do feel like it was a mistake putting Pulse out after The Pitt.

I don't think this show is bad. The acting is mid but better than some shows. The drama and soundtrack is really what kept me completely locked in. Its kind of addictive.

If you're looking for accuracy. This show isn't for you. Its on par with Grey's Anatomy. Its still enjoyable to be honest. But I feel like the reviewers are being too harsh.

If you're watching, don't think about the inaccuries, cus you're just beating up yourself for no reason. Not every medical show is The Pitt. Just saying.

I don't write a ton of user reviews, but was bothered by how low this rating was. This is a solid 7 and totally worth a watch. I binged the entire series, which is not normal for me. I will normally check out if the series is mediocre, this was a very good watch. It's touching, at times, and you do care about the characters. I wanted to know if a second season would be made, which shows that I care about the characters and want to se how they evolve.

Give it a try, for me, its more watchable than the Pitt. To me, that is a snooze fest and this is a nice, slow burn. I really think it's good content.

I think the potential for this show will be lost due to is release date. I've been watching the Pitt which i believe is destined to become one of the great medical dramas of all time so to release this just after the Pitt has been released is a hugh mistake. That being said this show tends to fail across the board. Theres nothing new to be seen and the casting is just terrible, no likeable characters and a long list of miscasting. This will be cancelled after one or two seasons and i cant see it running any more. Its not bad, its just not that good. Seriously guys you should watch the Pitt if you need a medical drama fix.

The white women on this show are insufferable and I must say, I can appreciate that angle. Trying too hard to be Grey's Anatomy but the lead is weak and has nothing that would draw sympathy or empathy to her. Too soapy. Too bad because the multicultural ensemble cast is quite good. I watched the series in hopes it would get better but it falls short. Not sure it will get renewed. I'd trim the fat from the cast and write better storylines that are not so soapy. Many other medical dramas out there that are more entertaining or just better executed. I highly recommend The Pitt. Back to the writers room guys!

My wife and I were looking forward to this show; especially since we live in Miami and I was in the medical field but this was inherently bad. A show is almost assuredly over when you have no one to root for. Most of these characters are unlikabke. The flashbacks are jarring because we have to figure out when it's a flashback without any visual clues. The dialogue is ridiculous with many doctors and nurses talking about personal issues in front of patients. Uh uh that's rarely done. This was mostly boring soap opera and little medical stuff. As others have stated this can't hold a candle to The Pitt ( an excellent medical show ) or even Doc or Chicago Med. We will check out another ep or two but we're not holding up much hope. We will see.

Post: Yep tried one more ep and lasted just 10 minutes into ep 2. This is just so bad. Doctors contradicting each other and fighting to do a procedure in literally every. Single. Medical. Scene. Just no. Avoid. What a shame......

Everything is great except the main female character and the actress. Oh my God how is it possible for one to ruin everything, she is so annoying, what a b**ch, playing the victim, awful. There are a lot of negative roles, but the actors play it so good, you actually root for them, not this one, wanted to break her neck all along, except relaxing, fills you with negative energy. Watching it because everything else is pretty good, the themes, actors, pretty interesting to keep up with, if you have enough nerves to ignore the main character and actress. Guess all the people who love medicine series will like it.

It's almost criminal to have so many good-looking people in one show. Honestly, how are they all in the same scene and managing to save lives? Guess we are not complaining. Pulse is a new-age medical drama that not only delivers on entertainment but also holds its own when it comes to the medical side-balancing gripping emergencies, ethical dilemmas, and moments of genuine intensity in the operating room. From the very first episode, you're pulled into a world where high-stakes cases and messy, magnetic relationships collide.

But beyond the eye candy, the show brings everything you need for a solid, binge-worthy drama. There's ambition, tension, shifting loyalties, and just the right amount of personal conflict brewing beneath the surface. Relationships simmer, dynamics shift, and the slow-burn tension between characters keeps you watching. The medical cases add just enough urgency and emotional weight-some gripping, some devastating, all designed to keep the stakes high. In a show like this, you know it's working when a character frustrates you one moment and wins you over the next.

But for all its strengths, the show does have its flaws. At times, it tries too hard. We already know these doctors are heroes, but there are moments when it overplays their heroism-pushing scenarios that feel exaggerated, overly dramatic, or just plain far-fetched. It's a little indulgent, a little too on the nose. But hey, that's the nature of the show. It thrives on spectacle, and if you're in for the ride, you'll learn to take the occasional over-the-top moment in stride.

The real magic? It makes hospitals-blood, chaos, and all-look inexplicably glamorous. That's where it truly wins. From the very start, the show sets the tone, and delivers a rollercoaster of drama, suspense, and the right amount of scandal. It's glossy, dramatic, and easy to binge-perfect for Gen Z and anyone in the mood for a little escapism. And honestly? It gets the job done.

This is an Emergency Room drama set in the sweltering heat of Florida. I don't know about most medical professionals, but I do not watch tv dramas for medical accuracy. I guess I am pleasantly surprised when dramas get anything right. So if we take the medical aspect out, I usually review these dramas around how entertaining they are. Was I entertained, Yes!

The story revolves around Danny Sims (Willa Fitzgerald) who is made temporary chief after filing a sexual harassment complaint against the current one. Around treating patients with a sundry of medical emergencies, we meet nurses, interns, residents, attending, surgeons, etc. At a teaching facility's ER. This relationship is slowly revealed via flashbacks that lead to the sexual harassment allegation.

I was intrigued by this relationship that seemed to be pretty hot and heavy between Danny and her chief Xander Phillips (Colin Woodell). It's always difficult to navigate workplace politics and nowhere more so than at teaching hospitals (of that I have decades of experience). Danny and Xander couldn't be more opposite, with Xander in a position of influence and coming from "the haves" with rich and powerful parents and Danny being a broke and lowly resident coming from the "have nots". The one thing Danny seems to have is friends and family...but as time elapses we see that not only has the sexual harassment allegation let off a bomb in her personal and professional life, but it also has wrecked havoc with her best friend and colleague Sam Elijah and her sister Harper.

The series certainly explores power dynamics and socioeconomic dynamics...but there are a few redeeming rays of sunshine. I loved the character of Camila Perez and her eternal optimism. She was a breath of fresh air and it was nice to see her influence on Dr. Sophie Chan. I loved seeing Luis stand up for his nurse Cass...and I loved Cass' conversation with the arrogant Tom Cole about not having anything in the good "bank". I am a firm believer of always filling your bank. Natalie Cruz was an important character, tough but fair, it was nice to see a woman in position of power who was attempting to mentor someone else with potential.

Overall it was light weight and kind of addictive with decent entertainment value.

I am a second year emergency medicine resident and this show was pretty accurate. I even tried finding flaws in the accuracy of the medicine and was having a hard time! I felt like a lot of topics that we discuss in the emergency room were brought up - "idk the patient just looks sick, something else is going on" that happens a ton when I see patients and I loved that scene. Also, as morbid as it is- the CPR rib cracking scene on the 99yo F was spot on. It is literally the worst feeling and that surgical intern experiencing it in the show was almost cathartic to see depicted on screen. The drama was enjoyable- the back and forth with the 2 leads and their love story. I enjoyed how complicated they made relationships seem in residency as well- that is spot on. I think everyone in the medical field is battling some sort of demon and they did a good job of portraying these complex characters that want to do well but just can't seem to cut it on a daily basis...and yet the media continues to glorify us.

The first thing I will say is I have not seen The Pitt. I find it so frustrating to hear comparisons to another medical drama. Let's just review this for what it is alone.

The main characters have decent chemistry and judging from the trailers it seems they wanted to get viewership based on that angle. So good casting there. And they were a bit steamy. Could have done with more of it actually.

The other characters became more interesting as their stories unfolded. I really appreciated having some story outside of hospital drama.

The medical scenes were quite good and not over the top unbelievable. The music was well timed not like Grey's Anatomy where it was so predictable and sappy every episode.

Overall the story had a nice build and I felt invested in the characters. And best part it had a healthy balance of medical drama and people drama. I personally will be holding out hope for another season.

I don't understand all the negative comments-I really liked the show and I'm hoping it gets renewed for season 2. I actually binged the whole thing in one sitting! I loved everything from the characters to the drama, and I'm genuinely intrigued to see what happens next after that ending.

I think the issue is that people keep comparing it to another show, but it's really its own thing. The casting and storyline were both done really well. I also loved Danny's character, and I'd love to see more from her sister in the next season. I'm especially curious to see how Elijah does as the new chief and what unfolds between Cole and the EMT.

And for those comparing it to real doctors and nurses-let's not forget, this is a TV show. They're not actually operating on anyone, it's make-believe, so there's no need to critique every medical detail. I really hope Netflix gives them a second chance, because so many of us truly love it.

Overall a cinema piece to watch if you have a mood...

This cast is addictive. Hot as. Maybe too hot but who cares. Plenty of intrigue to unravel as the backstory plays out. Willa Fitzgerald has a brittle fragility that you just have to kind of keep watching - to see if she snaps or melts. Colin Woodall lands her slick slightly inscrutable, entitled superior with a huge dose of charm. The show balances the relationship stuff with enough good medicine to keep you hooked. It's an intriguing look at the minutiae of power behind the scenes. Little transgressions that snowball into big outcomes. I'm looking forward to diving more deeply into Danny's tormented decision. I'm in!

I've been watching different medical shows, also from different countries and I have to say that this show is different which is a plus point for me. It may not be medical-focused compared to the usual types but, it's different. For a new show, I want something new.

It's good to see different personality types in the show, the different dynamics. Moreover, it's different from other medical shows that I've watched.

I do admit there were some things that annoyed me - like the plenty throwbacks in the first few episodes but as I continued to watch, I enjoyed the drama.

There are also some feel good moments which I appreciate.

I definitely do want to see what happens next. This season has set a good introduction to the background of the main characters and although there are some annoying moments (they are just people afterall though); I do believe in the upcoming seasons, they'd grow.

I finished E1 out of respect. But it stops for me right there. My daughter put it this way: "Dad, this is like The Pitt from Temu."

Already in the first minutes we see a really bad CGI of a Miami storm. It doesn't get better when we get introduced to the characters which none of them is likeable. Also everything is just so "911" - clean clothes, poorly made injuries and too little blood.

Very bad acting on top of it.

I don't understand how can we still be doing series like this for millions of dollars that are just mediocre. It's a shame on the whole film industry.

Next time please do better.
