The Copenhagen Test

I thought this was a variation of 'The Manchurian Candidate', it was. And it wasn't. The first couple of episodes were slow. But once it got moving it was well done. There were some things that made you go 'hmmm', but nothing that really took away from the story.

Ultimately, this could have a great second series. I hope they do.

The Compshagen Test, I am pleased to report, is a rather admirable piece of intellectual architecture-clean in its lines, confident in its purpose, and refreshingly unwilling to pander to the impatient or the inattentive. It possesses that rare quality of assuming its audience is capable of thought, and indeed deserving of it.

I gave it a nine, and did so without hesitation. The experience is brisk, lucid, and-most importantly-honest in its ambitions. One senses, behind its construction, a mind intent on clarity rather than spectacle, on substance rather than ornament. In an age increasingly besotted with the gaudy and the superficial, this alone is worthy of commendation.

If I withheld the final, perfect tenth point, it was only because the test, for all its virtues, left me wanting a touch more detail-an elaboration here, an explanatory flourish there. Not verbosity, mind you; merely the sort of additional refinement that transforms a very good instrument into a definitive one.

Still, the Compshagen Test stands as a commendable achievement, and I should think anyone submitting to it will come away with the agreeable sense that their time was not merely spent, but invested.

At first I saw the low to mediocre reviews, but decided to give it a try for myself. I found it entertaining, captivating, and found myself going back for more. I like the lead in Shang Chi so that helped. Watch the first episode or two and you'll know if it's for you. Form your own opinion, everyone says something different.

Whilst this isn't the greatest spy show, it is a good one.

It's nothing like Inception (movie) but has tiers of depth to it like Inception.

There are people complaining Simu Lius character is flat but considering the plot he kind of has to be (won't write why here as it's a spoiler but you should be able to see why when you watch it).

The premise is simple and not too far away from being credible in the real world, the plot is a simple find the bad guy and reveal who they are etc etc so nothing new there but also kinda the basis for every good and bad spy show/movie there is.

Was different enough to be fun, produced well enough to be entertaining and those complaining the titles being like a Sega game (I owned one) they are deluded and honestly how does the titles have any impact on how good the show is or isn't? A show with no titles or credits would be ideal for me as they are just fluff to the cast and team not part of the entertainment.

As for complaints about the music, well it's no Hans Zimmer for sure so it doesn't stir the emotions his scores do, but it's also not so bad that it ruins the show either.

You either like this kind of spy show (with a tiny bit of science fiction in it) or you don't but bombing it for silly reasons is pointless.

In short, it's a good idea reasonably well executed and I enjoyed watching the plot unfold.

My wife and I binged-watched the show in a single day. It's an exceptional show with a captivating storyline and an outstanding cast. It's one of the best shows of 2025. Simu Liu's performance was remarkable, breaking away from the typical Hollywood tough guy stereotype. Cannot wait for the second season!
