After this video was released, the creator had received multiple backlashes for the video and saying that the prank felt too extreme and not at all funny in the slightest. Multiple news articles then started talking about it and there was even a petition for Sam Peppers to delete his channel entirely. Sam said that he would if 1.5 million dollars would be sent to him, however, it only led to the petition getting blocked, the video being deleted and the channel being temporarily unable to upload content.
