Let's get this out the way. It's dull, meaningless, pretentious and dull. Yes I aware I said dull twice that's how empty it is. It lacks energy, character depth and screen chemistry. Photographers who have no vision. A pop singer with no pop and an instantly forgettable, for want of a better word, plot. What it lacks in passion it fails to make up in vision. This is a soulless exercise in middle class movie making. I forced myself to its conclusion and feel only regret.
This is seriously how they are casting james mcavoy in 2025? What happened to him? Maybe split and glass weren't the most high brow films, but the guy has range, and its extremely disappointing to keep seeing him cast in C rate trash like this. The last movie i saw from him was the english adaptation of speak no evil, which was completely pointless torture porn and significantly worse than the original. Since when is he no longer being cast in intellectual, thriller, sci fi or dramatic roles, and only being presented as some kind of cheap brute? Besides this, Pose is an excuse for a daytime tv movie, tubi original quality but with james's face smeared all over it. He must be having some personal problems to end up in this after being in so many blockbusters.
I love James McAlvoy in everything he's ever done, but why he ever attached his name to this is a mystery. It was a waste of time, it actually made me angry watching it. I can't say anything bad enough to convey just how stupid it was. It was so stupid that I had to watch until the end in hopes that the last 15 min might make the previous hour not feel like such a brain bleed.... I was wrong.
I watched it only because of James McAvoy but I should not have. Why did he want to star in this?
Money can return but the time I spent watching this "movie" will never come back!
Throughout the movie I tried to understand what was going on. It was really weirs. I have no idea what I've just watched!

My biggest pet hate in film, is when 'they' try to make something 'arty', and 'clever', but just end up making the biggest pile of pretentious cow dung known to Mankind.
That's what this film does.
Why can't the camera be stationary for longer than 3 seconds? Why this constant motion? Why is the script so bad? Why is lighting do bad? And perhaps most importantly. Why in the name of all things holy, did James McAvoy get involved in this? Is this really where his career has taken him?
I have seen worse films, i want to make that clear, but i also have to make it clear that i haven't seen many worse than this. I've made it to the end of some awful films, because they at least had something there, which kept you watching, if for no other reason than to see just how bad it could actually get. This one? I managed to reach the 45 minute mark, and i had to turn off. It has nothing redeemable about it. It's so bad, i ended up washing the dishes, and that was more fun than watching this.
