This movie was good, but could have been better just with the right script. The writers should have put more drama and distinction between rich and the masses and a kind of revolt in the main character. He just stays too nordic. The filming is top notch. Meanwhile characters are well played. Scenes are good also and flowing nicely.
Exciting and suspenseful movie with a comedic touch. The actor playing Ludwig's friend Victor (Fabian Hedlund) had immaculate timing and made the whole movie stand out. He managed to combine the uncanny personality with more than a slight hind of entitlement. The way he conveyed the role was pure and truthful. Someone to keep an eye on!
Truly not a fim for everyone - extremely unique from Swedish Netflix and Swedish film industry at all! But genuinely one of the best entry's of Netflix Originals ever! And one of the best Swedish films ive seen!
But wow this special psychological drama clearly wanting to catch an intelligent and intellectual audience manages to be on a stable level of artistic expression aswell as feeling modern, new and fresh! But at the same time melancholic
The acting is fabulous everwhere - fits very well for this special characters and story which is rarely produced in film.
Directing and cinematography is amazing, aswell as the soundtrack as
Something really special! A artsy, bold, raw, dark, deep and smart film that stays for awhile - that brings something new and that makes you think.

*Ett Ärligt Liv* aspires to poetry but often stumbles into monotony. The idea that everyone wears the same expression shifts from intriguing to exhausting, dulling the film's emotional impact. What might have been a profound exploration of identity instead feels repetitive and hollow, straining too hard for depth.
The film also seems intent on making a political point, but whatever message it reaches for slips through its fingers. Instead of resonance, it leaves only the sense of a concept stretched too thin.
Still, the craftsmanship is undeniable. The cinematography is striking, capturing light and shadow with elegance, and the talented cast adds weight even within the limits of the concept.
In the end, *Ett Ärligt Liv* is a paradox: visually beautiful and well-acted, yet emotionally and politically flat - a film that looks profound but never truly is.

I grew up in the part of sweden where this movie takes place. The locations, cosumes, set design, the way the students live feels very authentic. The casting is perfect, very nice subtle acting from the leads. Swedish films are usually very lame, formulatic and predictible, so i loved how you get to follow the main charcter into a new unknown world. Not as good as The Evil (Ondskan) but certainly the best swedish films in many years.
