Una cita con el futuro

Since the writers and actors strikes there hasn't been much to watch and I am not a fan of reality tv. The cover page was cute and I liked the synopsis. It's a lot to read the subtitles and watch the show but I got used to it after a few episodes.

I thought the actress that played the lead was really cute. She had a bubbly personality and yes her smile is infectious. The main actor took a bit to get used to but I grew found of him as well. I found myself literally binge watching 3 to 4 shows at a time.

It kind of has a 9-1-1 feel, with all of the rescue missions and such.

It's also a fun way to learn some Chinese culture.

During an earthquake, 10 years ago, that almost claimed her life she met the man she would marry. She knbew it the instant she saw him. He risques his life saving her. When the job was done and he beagn to leave Xu Lai (Zhang Ruo Nan) runs after the young firefighter Jin Shi Chuan (William Chan) and makes him a promise.

Will she able to fufill the promise she made?

Fate will have it no other way. Now he's a Captain and she's a field news reporter.

We have everything in this drama... the best friend secretly in love with our FL, the jealous shrew that does everything to sabotage the career of our FL, past trauma that prevents our ML to go further, the medling parents, the loving grandfather, even a few catastrophys to help the relationship of our two main characters grow.

What is with the actor?

He can't change is facial expression???

I have read many reviews of this drama and many if them warned me about this particular issue but I don't want to listen to what other people say without checking myself first just in case.

And I have to confess this is the first time I have watched anything with this actor, bit Oh Bod! I WISH I listened to all those reviews!!! This guy only has ONE facial expression! Just one!! He just doesn't know how to act at all! Im really sorry because I really tried.

Just so bland.

Acting is no good but story is no better either.

A girl at 15 promises to a guy 10 years older to wait for him and he says okay? Like who believes a guy in his 20s will wait for 10 years and stays single and unmarried ( bare in mind we are talking about China) until his early 30s? COME ON!

But also, even though he says no to her and rejects her from the beginning, she keeps insisting over and over and over and over ignoring his feelings and negative. Literally harassing the guy, won't understand how that's okay in this series.

The situation with the 2nd male lead is not better either, the super cliché blind unrequited love from the guy who does everything for the woman who doesn't even see him.

So yeah, ridiculous script, bad acting, and very painful cliches.

You can skip this one.

The love scenes are so sweet,very cute couple, love them so much. But the fire and the rescue scenes are so incredible and very worth watching. I can't believe it's just a love drama and had such great creating of firefighters and their job. And this is th first time I saw a Chinese drama put lots of efforts to show how rescuing dog training and how.these wonderful dogs work with their partneps, firefighters. I love these dogs so much, especially Peace, and Windchase. They are so lovely(actually both of them are played by one same dog!) and so good at acting.

A date with future is such a good show that i believe it should be known by more and more and more people!
