A Lighthearted and Fun Watch

I walked into this movie with no expectations and found myself pleasantly surprised. "Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties" offers a fun-filled ride that doesn't try to be overly ambitious but thrives in its quirky charm. The humor lands well for the most part, with many of the musical numbers standing out as both catchy and funny, contributing significantly to the film's playful tone. While it's not groundbreaking in terms of storytelling, its lighthearted nature makes it an enjoyable experience.

The film combines clever visuals with witty dialogue, leaning heavily into its feline-inspired humor. The cinematography is vibrant, often drawing attention to small, delightful details that enhance the overall vibe. The cast do a solid job bringing energy and personality to their roles, ensuring the film stays engaging throughout.

Perosnally, the ending leaves something to be desired. It feels slightly underwhelming, failing to deliver the emotional it seems to aim for. While this doesn't ruin the overall experience, it does temper the impact of the story's conclusion.

Ultimately, "Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties" is a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously, and neither should its audience. It's perfect for those seeking a light, entertaining watch. Though the ending didn't entirely resonate with me, the film still earns its charm through humor, creativity, and a good dose of feline fun.

Great to have them back but lacking

It's great to have the boys back in something new, but this just lacks the charm.

There's a few funny moments but in general it's not that great.

It's another classic Mike Smith movie, barely any Ricky and Julian and all just about Bubbles.

It's a shame because the park scenes are still pretty good.

Having said that it is good to have them back, and worth a watch just for that. Having said that it is good to have them back, and worth a watch just for that. sorry guys, you are just too old and not funny any more

Trailer park boys, used to be a cool show, but that was like perhaps 20 years ago. Unfortunately time is a cruel thing, so now everybody who left from the show are looking worn out, and the magic is lost. The main character bubbles tries his best apparently, but he can't carry the silly show on is shoulders, while the rest are hardly contributing. I understand this guys want to cash in on the success of the show, but enough is enough, they just recycling each year bubbles juvenile rock star whims, and the silly tour to Europe concept, that are really not interesting or funny any more, and are kind of stupid (the all kitties songs for example). For me trailer park boys ended when Jim Lahey (John Dunsworth) died, everything they made afterward was just got bad and stopped being funny.

So i would advise everybody to skip this, and just rewatch the original series instead.

The boys are BACK!

I'll firstly state that I enjoyed this film so much primarily because I'm a huge fan of Trailer Park Boys. This film is a serious treat for those who enjoyed the TV series, you get an immediate nostalgic feeling seeing them on the screen again and you even get taken back to the trailer park itself giving the fans something they want to see. The storyline is good, but this comes second to me as I was just happy to see them all together again. IF I hadn't seen trailer park boys, would I have enjoyed it? Perhaps not as much BUT this was clearly made for the fans and I absolutely love them for it!

Time to call it a day and end the franchise?

First, let's start by saying I'm a big fan of the TPB. I've ben watching them from season 1 on Showcase back in 2001. It was a fantastic show, original, and Canadian and as a Canadian myself this was appealing.

The series really ended for me when it was taken over by Netflix and "Americanized" losing its charm. Anyhow...

Now to this "movie".

How many times can Mike Smith repackage the same bubbles jokes? Here we once again find Bubbles locked in a phone booth, this time in England? Did we not see this joke back when he was stuck in a phone booth in Maine?

How many trips to Europe do we need? Good god, they even have the same actors just playing slightly different roles. (Those who watched "out of the park Europe" will get the references).

Bubbles was always a side character, you can only take so much of him, especially when it seems Mike Smith is driving the show (Conky anyone)??

Too much Bubbles, too much Mike Smith and ZERO TBP charm.

It is a shame because if you watch "the trades" you can see they can play other characters and the cast works well together. I did not like "Susan" on TBP but her revival as "Stephanie" on the trades nailed it.

Mike needs to move on, and stop trying to milk the franchise for all its worth. We don't need to watch yet another "bubbles stuck in a phone booth" skit, you have covered it like half a dozen times now?

If you are thinking of watching this... Go watch Trailer Park boys instead. You an reminisce when the show was good and stop at season 8 (Netflix).

About the only funny thing in the movie was Randy's attempt to "earn" enough money to get back home, but again, did we not see this skit already at least once in the past?

DECENT!

I am a huge fan of the Boys so it would come as no surprise that I would give this film a 5 star rating. I did genuinely enjoy the film and my rating isn't just out of bias.

I am glad to see how Bubbles, Ricky, and Julian (yes Randy too) have grown over the years. Through the all the shows, movies, podcasts, and seasons it is very evident of the love, care, and concern they have for one another. If you are wondering, yes I realize that they are characters.

In Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties we get to see Bubbles be the center of the story as he pursues his music career. While Ricky and Julian are present, Bubbles takes center stage (no pun intended) here. From the formation of the S**trockers, to the veteran's hall circuit, right through to opening for Billy Bob Thorton's band The Boxmasters on their European Tour, we get to see the blood, sweat, and tears to see Bubbles live his childhood dreams of seeing his name in lights.

If you are a fan of the Trailer Park Boys then you have probably already seen this film, twice. If you haven't, what are you waiting for. If you are a fan of comedy, swearing, and some good old fashion potty humor with a solid underdog story than this film is for you. You will be very happy with Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties, just come back so I can say, "Atodaso."

Stop it

Sure! Here's a sarcastic, negative review for **"Sitting on the Shoulders of Kittens"**, with a focus on the character Bubbles:

---

**Review: "Sitting on the Shoulders of Kittens" - Please, Just Get Down Already**

I don't know who greenlit *Sitting on the Shoulders of Kittens*, but I'd like to politely ask them to reconsider their career choices. This movie is a confusing, fluffy mess of nonsense masquerading as quirky charm. The plot (if you can call it that) drifts around like a lost catnip toy, and the characters? Don't get me started.

Every single one of them needs to *stop it*. Immediately. Especially Bubbles, who somehow manages to be both the most annoying and the least helpful character in any movie I've seen this year. Bubbles flutters through scenes doing... what, exactly? Rambling monologues? Questionable life choices? Whatever it was, it wasn't entertaining.

The dialogue feels like it was written by someone who's only ever communicated via cryptic fridge magnets, and the emotional beats fall flatter than a kitten under a bowling ball. There are movies that are so bad they're good. This one doesn't even earn that honor.

Two paws down.
