Please give us multiple seasons!

This show is intoxicating. The script is funny, witty, and warm. The main characters have great chemistry and all the side characters all add their own appreciated flavor.

Kristen Bell is one of those actresses that makes the best choices for what she participates with and takes on, and this is no exception. This is a story that makes you want to be apart of their world. Adam Brody's character is like Seth but 20 years later- grown up, mature, and still charmingly funny.

I sincerely hope they renew the series and keep giving us more great content. One of my favorite light comedy shows of the year!

Please tell me there's a Season 2 coming?!

I've just binge watched the series. Genuinely funny, and captured many essences of Jewish family life. Cleverly done, with great characters and acting. Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, and the other key characters were great, particularly Noah's Mum (the quintessential Jewish matriarch), Joanne's sister, Noah's brother Sacha, and Sacha's wife. Really hope there's a Season 2 to explore Joanne & Noah's relationship further, and see what the future holds for both of them personally and in their careers. I feel there is room for character development for both of Joanne's parents, especially her relationship with her father.

Nobody Wants to be Stereotyped

I was swept away in the romance and definitely binged this series. There was a lot of great writing, pacing, and acting; it was easy to fall in love. I agree - the rabbi is hot. : )

However, I felt a nagging discomfort with the portrayal of Jewish culture. Some innacuracies were just annoyingly jarring, like the Chanukah menorahs that kept appearing everywhere - his parents entry gate - for real? Or the vast wealth his first- generation immigrant parents had somehow amassed. Some, though, were more repellant, such as the constant use of the term, "shiksa," which is really not a nice thing to say. If I was around people who were earnestly using that term to describe someone, I would not want to hang out with them again. Adding to the offense, the first time the word is used, it is projected with scorn at a stranger based simply on how she looks. Repeatedly in the series, non-jews are identified by their blondeness. As a blonde Jewish woman, I am familiar with this kind of 'but you don't look Jewish" ignorance, but it doesn't come from within the Jewish community.

At best, these discordant elements felt under-researched; at their worst, they felt pandering and reliant on outdated racial stereotyping. I would love to see this improve in a second season!

I love this!

I love this! I binged the entire series in one day and I think it is near perfect. It's like watching a good romantic comedy film but stretched out into a 10 episode TV series which makes it all the more satisfying.

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody have the most amazing chemistry together. They are charming and their connection seems genuine, their banter realistic. It's rare to see a couple be so believable together from the minute they are on screen together. The way he looks at her gave me butterflies and I am an ancient 45 year old woman who rarely feels that way when watching anything anymore.

I can't recommend this programme highly enough!

I need another season!

Adam Brody and Kristen Bell have incredible on screen chemistry.

I really enjoyed this show - it was so much more than I was expecting.

It was easy to watch, relatable, super funny and charming throughout the entire 10 episodes. I do however wish the episodes were slightly longer - they averted about 26 - 30 minutes per episode but that also made it for a super easy watch. I binged the whole thing in one sitting last night.

I'm eagerly waiting for Netflix to confirm another season. If it doesn't get another, I'll be bummed. It left on a bit of a cliff hanger so I need more.

I'm already starting my second rewatch of the series.

MOSTLY Awesome

I was so excited for this one! Some of the dialogue and parts of the storyline, especially in the first episode, missed the mark. A few minutes in I thought, is this going to suck?

Well, I stuck with it and ended up REALLY enjoying it. The love story was passionate and they definitely had chemistry. And that first kiss. WOOFTA. I think I also got pregnant.

Also, many laugh out loud funny moments. 100% my sense of humor.

Is it an Oscar winner? Probably not. Will people be offended? Absolutely. But it's a feel-good story that was an easy binge with lovable characters. Can't wait for Season 2.

More Kirsten Bell Gold

I wasn't sure about the premise but I fell in love with both Joanne and Noah, their chemistry does work...such a genuinely funny show that had me giggling and smiling all the way through. Great treatment of the topics and timely in the current environment. Definitely fun but great messages as well.

I loved Kirsten Bell in The Good Place which is why I decided to watch Nobody Wants This and was rewarded with an excellent show. Adam Brody was brilliant as Noah and the supporting cast were great and added to the fun of the show. Genuinely hope that there is a season 2 it is that good. Highly recommend 👏👏👏

Mixed Feelings

I binge-watched the whole series in one day, and I knew from the trailer that plot-wise, this was going to be my show. After watching, I truly believe this could have been so much better. What I hated the most was the fact that while Adam Brody aged really well, Kristen Bell looked like some weird wax figure. I understand that it is really hard to be a woman in Hollywood, and ageism is real, but she could barely lift her eyebrows, even though her delivery was witty and funny.

Noah was charming and funny, and his side of the family had some great moments. At first, I thought their family dynamics were going to irk me, but it turned out to be great. Sasha and his wife ended up being my favorite side characters. I loved the scenes where Sasha helped Miriam with boy problems and when Esther admitted that she also hated her bat mitzvah dress.

Joanne's dysfunctional family was portrayed as kind of dumb and shallow. There was an effort to explain her current-life problems and past emotional trauma, but I think it was not well executed.

What I really don't get is why Noah wanted to be with Joanne so badly. There was some chemistry between them, but not nearly enough for them to go through so many problems in a relationship and still stay together. The last two episodes, in particular, were not good and felt disappointing compared to the rest of the series.

Amazing , heartwarming

I really loved this one! Romantic comedies always follow the same formula, but this one has a lot of strong points - + I FELT the chemistry between the leads. It felt natural and harmonic. They played the characters so well! + The dialogue and relationships between the characters felt funny, witty and touching in the best way. + In a world that promotes representation, it's the first time that I saw a Jewish male love interest. I think it displayed beautiful and inclusive parts of the religion without putting it on a pedestal in any way. Great writing, great cast, and incredible chemistry made this a binge watch for me, followed by a quick search for "Will there be a season 2?". Loved this!

A romantic comedy that enters the best of the year

Erin Foster creates one of the most likeable and enjoyable series of 2024 and does so with the originality of a story that works from the first moment with the cunning of knowing how to deliver what the viewer comes looking for when they decide to watch it.

It is supplied by two great protagonists like Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, who fit together perfectly, overflowing with absolute chemistry on screen and the necessary charisma to give us a couple with whom we empathize and believe from their first moments. At the same time, we also find secondary characters who add an extra plus of success such as Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Tovah Feldshuh or Jackie Tohn who with their charisma and perfect characters manage to add more fun to the central story and that at times invites in the case of the two brothers of the protagonists to have their own show of how well they build their moments during the series.

It is a fun series that has the right ingredients to provide light and easy-going entertainment, but it does not fall into being simplistic, because it also dares to put interesting topics, perhaps referenced by the creator and her own life experience. The series knows how to take advantage of its originality of the opposite poles, of how much we create and how much we are willing to give for love and when it seems that it gets tangled up in how to solve everything, it intelligently knows how to use the twists to open a new aspect where to captivate.

A nice bet that deserves a chance, that meets the simplicity of a romantic comedy, but offers many more interesting and enjoyable things for a viewer who can watch it with indifference, it is a series that flies by and that perfectly executes the originality of its premise.

Netflix offers a pleasant pastime for this weekend and one of the pleasant surprises of 2024.

Sweet & enjoyable

I am really enjoying this series, it takes me back to my single and dating days and leaves a smile on my face. It touches on very relatable and relevant topics(regarding dating and dating culture) in such a realistic matter simontanously, and doing so in a refreshingly unproblematic way, the way dating should be, honest dialog all throughout, no games.

Their chemistry is very sweet(of course it helps that they are both experienced, skillful actors individually) and it makes for a lovely watch bringing all those nostalgic feelings back.

Kristen Bell, I have followed since watching Veronica Mars as a young girl. And Adam Brody, my husband glanced at the TV saying: he hasn't changed since The O. C., he is right.

Hard to understand the popularity of the series

In Nobody Likes This, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody team up in what is supposed to be a charming, heartfelt romantic comedy, but unfortunately, the only thing they manage to conjure is a deep sense of secondhand embarrassment. The film's title seems eerily prophetic, as it aptly reflects the overwhelming feeling of detachment that sets in around the fifteen-minute mark-and never goes away.

Kristen Bell, typically known for her quirky charm, is given a script so devoid of originality that her natural charisma gets buried under an avalanche of recycled tropes. Bell's character is yet another archetypal, clumsy-yet-relatable woman who is somehow unlucky in love. Her journey from awkward singlehood to predictable romance feels less like a story arc and more like a straight line-a flat, uninspired march toward a conclusion everyone saw coming within 10 minutes.

Adam Brody, who has long been typecast as the sarcastic yet lovable "nice guy," delivers a performance that's as lifeless as the dialogue he's been handed. His chemistry with Bell is barely palpable, like two actors stuck in a rehearsed script rather than people destined for love. If you're hoping for witty banter, you'll be sorely disappointed. Instead, we get tired exchanges that feel like they've been recycled from every rom-com ever made, only here, they've been stripped of any charm or emotional depth.

In the end, Nobody Likes This is a series that embodies the very worst of the genre: formulaic, predictable, and utterly devoid of emotional substance. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody deserve better than this, and so does the audience. This is the kind of movie you forget about before the credits finish rolling-if you even make it that far.

To sum it up: the title doesn't lie. Nobody likes this.

Shallow in more ways than one

I was beginning to think this was some kind of poor man's Fleabag rip off, and then they referred to Noah as the hot rabbi. It was all a bit obvious what it was trying to emulate and yet it fell way short of the mark. Joanne and her sister were shallow and blindly privileged and yet it is passed off as quirky, as if being judgemental and catty is a cute character trait. E.g. When she gets the 'ick' and is going to end the whole relationship over the smallest details like he's not alpha enough or something. Joanne is the type of person who probably has a height requirement for her boyfriends. Noah, on the other hand, came off as a doormat and incredibly bland, and neither character has any complexity. I like both these actors but I don't get the hype around this series. Had potential, but ultimately disappointing.

Heck yes

Yes yes yes! This has everything I've been missing about rom coms- chemistry, clever writing, funny quips, and Cali vibes. I never would have paired Kristen Bell and Adam Brody together, but I'm so glad it's them as the leads. They are really good together and are super fun to watch. I'm only two episodes into it, and all I want to do is binge watch it all.

However many episodes there are, there aren't enough. Make more, make more now, and studios take note so you can make more shows and movies that work this well. Screen test for chemistry better and hire good writers who can write quick, smart dialogue like this. Bravo to the writers and to the actors- all great choices.

Kristen Bell is the best!

I am a huge Kristen Bell fan and this show is great.

The writing is fun and smart, the chemistry is real and the casting is perfect.

My only real regret is that the episodes are only a half hour. I am already done 6 out of 10.

Adam Brody is great in his role and the writing for his character is a smart evolution.

On a slightly different note, I would like to say that I have noticed that a lot of my favourite shows lately have been from Netflix. Whether it be this comedy or the Turning Point the Bomb and the Cold War documentary, they really have upped their game.

Once again loving Kristen Bell as always. I wonder if there will ever be a The Good Place movie or reunion? :)

DO NOT LET US DOWN NETFLIX - SEASON 2 IS A MUST!!!

I'm begging you to renew this for season 2-this series is was that good that I've now watched it twice haha

It brings out all the emotions, from heartfelt moments and tears to pure joy and laughter. We haven't had a show like this in a long time, and it really highlights just how great of actors Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are. The chemistry is perfect, and the storyline is relatable, not overly cheesy but real and engaging. The soundtrack is sooo good too!!

There's so much potential for the future, and I'm excited to see where these characters go next! Please don't let this story end here. Season 2 is a must!

It's Been A Long Time ...

I can't remember the last time I watched a new TV Series and felt crushed when it ended. It's probably been years. I was super skeptical when my friends told me to watch this. I looooove Kristen Bell. She has yet to do me wrong even since Veronica Mars. But I was still so skeptical because TV shows, especially shows like this- a sweet rom-com- they just fall short these days. But this was so so soooo sweet! There were sooo many feel good moments. It wasn't just selling sex like the average show does nowadays. It was simply genuine. This is worth watching whether by yourself or with friends. It'll probably be my "pick me up" TV show for bad days now.

Mixed feelings...

On the positive side, "Nobody Wants This" is a very stylish and clever show. Kristen Bell and Justine Lupe (Astrid on Mrs. Maisel) play sisters who host a sex and dating podcast, one similar to Call Her Daddy. Adam Brody is the newly single "hot Rabbi" who broke off a long-term relationship with Rebecca because he knew in his heart she wasn't the one. Kristen Bell's Joanne meets Adam Brody's Noah at a dinner party and their chemistry is instant. We watch their relationship develop over the series even though initially they have nothing in common (except they both have wealthy families) and are polar opposites. Noah is an honest, moral, straitlaced Conservative Jew who grew up aspiring to be a Rabbi. Joanne is a hip, modern, agnostic, freewheeling hot mess with a zigzag past. Noah and Joanne navigate multiple family and career issues that arise because of their relationship. The biggest hurdle they face, however, is that Joanne is not Jewish. Being with a "shiksa" causes his family great anguish and also puts his goal of becoming senior Rabbi at his synagogue in serious jeopardy.

It's a fun show to watch. The acting is phenomenal, the dialogue is witty. It's hysterically funny at times. The entire cast is fantastic with some endearing and charming characters.

The downside: Too many Jewish stereotypes to the point of it being almost a parody. It started out funny at times, but increasingly it felt more uncomfortable as the Jewish women characters were being portrayed as the villains while the blonde non-Jews were seen as the heroines. Also, Rabbi Noah is almost too perfect. He literally doesn't have a single character flaw. I feel that we didn't really get to know him or understand why he became so quickly invested in his relationship with Joanne.

Overall a good show. Looking forward to and fingers crossed for Season 2!

Entertaining...with a couple big issues

I just finished the first season. I like the cast, I think that Kristen Bell and Adam Brody have great chemistry, and Justine Lupe is delightful as usual. I was mostly entertained, but there were a few glaring issues that just knocked it down a peg or two for me.

First of all, the characters are so immature! They are written like 25 year olds but are played by 45 year olds. Especially.the Joanne character. She is juvenile, toxic, and needs some serious therapy.

Second of all, I felt like there were a few lines and moments that came across as antisemitic. As a somewhat related point, how in the world would these two women who are in their 30's & 40's and were raised in LA have no concept of common Jewish sayings, never have been to a bat mitzvah, etc? They would have grown up around Jewish people. It's a weird plot point.

Lastly, it's just incredibly predictable. But even though it's a tad lazy, I can get past this one.

I wanted to like this more than I did. I'm not sure I'll be back for a second season.

Love Kristen Bell! Really hope there is a season 2!!

Kristen Bell's Nobody Wants This is a refreshing dive into the quirky, chaotic, and heartfelt world of modern TV comedy. With her signature charm and quick wit, Bell leads a show that balances biting humor with relatable themes, making it a standout in today's crowded landscape.

From the very first episode, Nobody Wants This grabs your attention with its smart, irreverent writing and a unique premise that feels both fresh and familiar. Bell's portrayal of a woman navigating life's unexpected twists and absurdities is both hilarious and touching, capturing that sweet spot between laugh-out-loud comedy and heartfelt moments. Her comedic timing, as always, is impeccable, and she brings a depth to her character that grounds even the most outlandish situations.

In a time where many comedies fall into predictable patterns, Nobody Wants This is a breath of fresh air. Kristen Bell proves once again why she's one of the most beloved figures in entertainment, delivering a show that's not just funny but also surprisingly thoughtful and relevant. It's an absolute must-watch for anyone looking for something smart, funny, and just a little bit heartwarming.

Highly recommended!

Refreshing

This is the first time I have reviewed pretty much anything. I was searching for something new to watch and saw this show pop up in new shows. Not expecting much I decided to give it a watch. I really was not expecting to get past one episode as a lot of shows have resulted in lately. But I was so pleasantly surprised. I started watching it and actually enjoyed it. Even after enjoying the first episode or 2 I was expecting a drop off. But it only got better.

As an adult it's nice to see a new series that we can really relate to. Seems like all the shows now are geared more towards the younger audiences. And while I can see younger viewers enjoying this it's definitely heard more toward the 30s and 40s crowd. The story has been excellent. Real life problems and issues mixed in with a lot of light hearted humor. Adam and Kristen have such a great chemistry. Kristen's range really comes through and Adam just plays such a likable character that everyone would want to be friends with. Really hope we get a season 2.

Nobody want this. Exactly.

One of the most boring things I've ever seen.

I gave it three episodes to see if it could get any better, but no, I just wasted my time on one of the most boring, cringe and useless things I've ever seen.

Characters are flat, story is just boring and unoriginal and for a series that's supposed to be a comedy I haven't even had a mild smile once.

Netflix once again shows that it's not about the money, it's about quality and ideas, and both are nowhere to be seen here.

I'm wondering if all these reviews that are praising this thing are just fake at this point.

Do yourself a favour and just skip this.

Worth it -

Great chemistry, funny lines, a little introspective, and just all in all a good heart warming romcom! All the characters add to the storyline, and with 20 minute episodes it is really easy to stick around for "one last episode".

I was really looking forward to this show based on the trailer and I am so glad it did not disappoint! I binged watch the entire season in one day, and really think it has the potential to become a classic show! For what is worth my partner who is not into romcoms did not mind having this show playing all day long, even if he "wasnt really watching".

Looking forward to a 2nd season announcement!!!
