Co-creator/Director Fred Grivois described the film as Karl Marx meets John Wick (Otro día para matar) (2014), or Kill Bill: Volumen 1 (2003) meets La ley del mercado (2015). He got the original idea after watching the latter film and thinking that today's youth wouldn't necessarily understand socialism and unionism and that he could come up with a fun way to explain these concepts.

As such, each episode is titled after a quote from Marx. The series having been conceived to last three seasons and a wrap-up film, the following two seasons are meant to be themed after Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Friedrich Nietzsche respectively and the finale after an undetermined modern philosopher.
