The movie is well made and a very interesting watch. I just couldn't help but feel constantly sorry for Connor. This is one of those very rare occasions where the outcome of the story actually affects my critical opinion about the movie. I know it's not supposed to happen but I really can't help it this time.
The Threesome felt a lot like the kind of movie Judd Apatow was making back in the day: An unapologetically raunchy and subversive dramedy. It also reminded me of the Netflix show "Love"(produced by Apatow), which was great. You might find the movie a bit frustrating, if you expect it to be a super clever, well rounded dramedy with a brilliant social commentary, because this movie is not that at all, and that's precisely what i liked so much about it.
This is a very unpretentious, self contained type movie, with a pretty straightforward narrative that's easy to follow. I think this was relatively cheap to make (by Hollywood standards), and they probably filmed the whole thing pretty quickly, i liked how authentic and concise the movie was, the direction style reminded me of movies like Juno and other 2000s indie dramedies, that being said the movie also gave me some Jason Reitman vibes.
The main cast was great, specially the two female leads, they brought a lot of charm and nuance to their characters, the guy who played the male lead was also pretty good, all the actors looked like they were having a good time making this movie. The plot fell a bit off the rails in the third act, with some poor creative choices for the characters, it could have been much better, but i liked the overall tone, most of the jokes landed and the romantic and dramatic scenes were well acted and directed.
In short, this is not the type of movie that will revolutionise filmmaking, or start particularly constructive conversations about relationships and paternity, because it doesn't need to. The Threesome is a good throwback, it remained me of that time in the late 2000s and early 2010s when a lot of raunchy dramedies popped up, with the sole intention of entertain, and this movie entertained me alright.

Caught The Threesome as part of the Regal Mystery Movie series. Never heard of it before. But the name mostly refers to a group of 3 people rather than the romantic act, which was PG-13 at most. It's funny, but not hilarious. It's emotional, but not deep.
Positives!
+Trio cast was well acted. Plus Greg was funny.
+Jonah Hauer-Kings emotion during a birth scene was one of the best I have seen.
+Well thought out love triangle.
Negatives!
-Drama got repetitive.
-Felt too long in parts.
-Romcom tropes were plenty.
The Threesome isn't a bad film. It just wasn't as original as the synopsis would have you believe. Good acting by the cast. 6.5/10.

Also, it's like Knocked Up given the Spinal Tap treatment, 'turned up to eleven'.... Now there are twins!!
The script constantly keeps dropping twist after twist after twist, until the film finishes.
Zoe Deutsch plays the horrendous, selfish, manic pixie girl character that is thoroughly unlikeable throughout and yet we are supposed to have sympathy by the end?...puleeeeez.
The rest of the movie is ok. It's Reasonably well acted but the direction is somewhat perfunctory and lacks real vision.
It's worth a watch but if rom coms are your thing, then When Harry Met Sally is still the goat and Knocked Up are better rounded.

I was hoping that the story was leading to something with substance, but it concludes with a bad taste in your mouth.
ML doesnt know what's good for him. The dude took the L and thanked the person giving him the L.
A tragedy. A literary disappointment. I have never hated romcoms before this one...
