"Good Luck Charlie: The Movie" is definitely not the worst kind of family comedy, though I have to admit I personally prefer the show to this. Still, it makes a great addition to the series as a little Christmas movie. I didn't plan to catch this in the first place. Then I decided I might as well watch this after I tuned to the Disney Channel looking for some fun after some serious work.
First of all, the story is a mix of unoriginal ideas. It wasn't boring. Not at all. Just unoriginal. A vehicle going downhill with a broken brake and some typical war games, these all sound familiar. So you should not expect anything fresh or special, but it is still fun for me. There aren't exactly any particular moments or scenes that I find dull or highly intriguing, but trust me, it is not a mess. The story fits together and is presented well.
Some scenes near the end of the movies are good, and I liked the ending too. And yes, there was the surprise which I am not going to ruin here. But I do hope that Disney will maintain the consistency and keep that "surprise" valid for upcoming episodes on the show.
I guess there is not a single reason for me to say this is a bad movie, but it really could've been much better, so I think I will put this in the middle of the scale. This is by no means a poor family comedy, considering there are "better" choices out there. If you're afraid of replaying awful memories of this year's little Miss Judy Moody, don't worry. This is a lot, a lot and a lot less disturbing.

THIS MOVIE IS PERFECT. With "Good Luck Charlie"'s normal great family dynamics, great songs throughout, and great motivations for all characters this is exactly why I love "Good Luck Charlie". I watch this movie every single year just because of how much joy it brings me. You must understand "Good Luck Charlie" before watching but it is worth watching every TV show ever to understand and enjoy this movie. The only issue I could mention is the fact that it isn't even longer, it feels that there should've been more focus on the Bob and Linda dynamic and more of a proper resolution to their relationship issues. But besides that this is a MUST WATCH.
I thought this was a great movie to view with the family around the Christmas tree. I laughed several times. The only thing holding this back from 10 stars, is simply the fact of the acting. I think the series actors were better than this. Although the actors are the same, they performed differently. 8/10
This, is a good movie. The cinematography and quality is actually pretty good. The plot is a LITTLE cliche, with the show's main protaginist, Teddy, and Amy getting separated from the boys & Charlie, and their quest to get to them. The chemistry between the actors is actually good. The story is a little cheesy, but is still enjoyable. Is this the last good Disney Channel Original Movie? Well, let's see. After this, we get Frenemies, Radio Rebel, Girl v. Monster, you get the pitcure. In conclusion, 8/10: A little cheesy, but still an overall good time. And a great treat for die-hard fans of the show.
Good Luck Charlie, It's Christmas is just a kind of film that feels more of a special than a legitimate movie. Even the kind that would contain two plot lines in one movie that it doesn't get what it mostly wants to be. Is it about Teddy going to Florida? Is it about Teddy and Amy's road trip to Palm Springs? Is it a goofy comedy of Bob dealing with Amy's parents? All those have convinced I would oftenly look at this as one of those one-hour specials than a movie. That and the comedy is a hit and miss, the editing is limited and doesn't stand out from the show, the characters are either jerks or overly goofy, and the third act with the Grandparents element was unnecessary. But at least it's not the worst movie Disney Channel has produced since it's part of the continuation of the series. I'll just say that if you're a huge fan of the show, this would be for you. If not, then it's best to stick with the show. As a Disney Channel sitcoms nowadays go, at least I'd take Good Luck Charlie over others like Jessie, Dog With a Blog, I Didn't Do It, and other Disney sitcoms that suck nowadays. But hey, at least they weren't made into movies for the sake of making it worse for these shows.
¿Sabías que...?
- CuriosidadesTo make it look more like a movie, the house set lights are dimmed down and the outdoor lights are brightened.
- PifiasTeddy says the flight to Palm Springs will be Charlie's first plane ride but Charlie, Teddy, and Amy flew to Chicago in "Charlie Shakes It Up" and during "Sun Show, Part One", the whole family took a plane to Hawaii.
