I came across the movie *Human Nature* on TikTok, and the trailer immediately caught my attention. As a big fan of travel and hiking films, I was especially excited to see a female protagonist. Having just returned from a hiking trip in Norway, my expectations were high.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I rented the movie for 6.99, but it didn't live up to my hopes. The nature shots are undeniably stunning and delivered exactly what I had anticipated. However, the storyline was far too shallow to be engaging. On top of that, I found the main actress difficult to watch - she was just so hard to relate to.
All in all, I think I would have enjoyed the breathtaking landscapes more if they weren't tied to such a weak plot. A missed opportunity, in my opinion.

Beautiful film, beautiful scenery, really capturing the reality of hiking on your own. The silence, the routine of setting up camp and breaking it down, the happiness of finding a hut with the luxury of a real bed and a roof, the physical exhaustion, the nuisances of rain and cold, and the realisation of risk when you get lost. Although I was wondering why the main character never seems to read. When I hike on my own, books (e-books, audio-books) are my company.
Don't forget to watch the 'making of' series, which shows you so much more detail and insight onto the whole process of filming and how the crew lived the experience of hiking.

This movie is really special! I saw the trailer randomly on Facebook and a few seconds were enough to convince me to watch it. Personally it means much to me. I was so related with everything this movie was about... Being oppressed from a daily life and relatives, not being understood, wanting to escape and find some peace for yourself... I could write a whole text about how special and beautiful this film is and how much it touched me. The most important thing is that they achieved to take you along with the protagonist and experience her story like it was yours! For me the story about Sophie is so simple and common. She is a simple person who is trying to find inner peace, do what she likes the most and simply explore the world around her. But at the same time she is so confused about life and herself... In the end, what we realize is the fact that no matter where you go or what you do, if you don't have peace with yourself you cannot calm down and relax. For me the main topic was this: learning oneself... We can see how many mistakes she is making. I was able to spot them even before they come out to the scene. It was her rebellious and stubborn character to complete her goal which actually makes her not to think and act in a sober way. We have all been through this state and that's why it is so relatable for viewers to watch it. Because we are actually watching a version of ourselves. Either from the past or present. Eventually, as much as we want to be alone and not be disrupted by people, we all need someone to count on and feel the presence of a human being next to us when we reach our limits. It is our human nature which speak through us... In this movie, every scene, every little detail from the environment and protagonist hides something. It has a secret message for everyone. We just have to pay attention and take it. It became one of my favorite movies! The best of its kind!
I understand that not everyone will like it. Someone said that letting the viewers to create the story for themselves doesn't make this movie great. I would say that this is exactly what make this movie special. It makes you think and play an active role along with Sophie. Everyone will have a different experience based on their life and how they will reflect what they see. It is special and not all kind of people will understand or like the whole concept and atmosphere. Indeed it is for hiking and outdoor lovers. But it doesn't worth the negative reviews. You cannot expect action and adventure from a movie which is clearly not made to entertain you in this way. It is more a kind of spiritual and psychological experience... Just like how nature makes you feel when you go outside and be alone. It's really a raw and authentic experience! I really love the long shots of her just walking (which was technically challenging, i guess). Someone would say it is boring but that's where the whole point is. To go hiking along with her which means that you will... walk. A lot... Also the masters of hiking must understand that she was an amateur hiker (at least this is what i could understand) and she wasn't supposed to be the Bear Grylls of the mountains... Anyway. The scenario was exactly as it should be for such a kind of film. Empty, but full... Silent, but loud... Simple, but so complicated if you think how many topics it touches and how much time you spend alone with yourself and your thoughts... I love the fact there was no music at all during the movie. Only the sounds of nature along with the whispers of your thoughts...

I sincerely enjoyed this movie. It was beautiful and also relatable. The beginning visual and the peaceful sound of moving water had me in from the get go. The scenery was so lovely and the feels were all there. I honestly had to remind myself, several times that I was not watching a documentary, it felt so true. Thank you for making this film. That being said... I would like to add that access finding and getting the film was complicated. Also, I watched and I have a friend who also watched separately from me, and we both had to deal with a CONSTANT buffering issue. I am certain it was not our Wi-Fi. Would watch again if not for this....

Watching this movie is almost like being there and do the hike by myself. I love the surroundings! Such a beautiful nature and it is a great job the actrice did, because she is almost the only figure in the movie, but it is never bored. Watch this movie and you will be there! 👍
