This serial is a new breath for Turkish television...
On the first glance there might be some apparent cliché episodes but the story goes deeper and deeper... It may not have the best TV serial scenario but the perfect cast what makes you stick to the screen on behalf outstanding and realistic performances.
I'd like to mention especially about Mete (Aras Bulut İynemli). I bet he'll be a very famous and successful actor in the future. The way he acts makes me have shivers... Everybody performs very very well and it's more than I expected... But I would not pass without mentioning little Osman (Emir Berke Zincidi)... He is only 6 years old... Actually whole story is told through his eyes in 1960's Istanbul... So smart and very very very lovely...
The background music picked up very successfully...
Overall this TV serial deserves watching... And it seems that new stars are about to be born...
Congratulations to producers, director and most of all the cast...

I watched this TV series a few years ago and then decided two months ago while I was hospitalized to watch it over again. And most of the time I felt as if I swallowed I stone. This show is so well written and the story is so deep that it really get you. The acting, the background music , just E V E R Y T H I N G is breathtaking. Episode after episode, tear after tear, some nights I cried myself to sleep because in some ways you can really relate to the series, especially if you have a sore heart. Just brilliant, the ones who haven't seen this series, they don't know what they missed in life. Just watch it and thank me later :)
This my best second series after the magnificent century . It's almost flawless anf captivating from the first episode of season 1 to the last episode of season 2.
The first two seasons deserves to be rated 10/10.
The last season is unfortunately not good as the first 2 seasons but they are still enjoyable. I wished the ended it in the season 2 cuz it had perfect ending to finish the plot.
Still the season 3 is not bad like I said and deserves your time but for sure you won't find the same suspense like the in precious seasons.

a good example of Turkish new wave cinema. because it uses the rules of soap opera in wise manner, reflecting the nuances of period, the social problems, using interesting characters, exploring the atmosphere nuances and the drama possibilities. a film about a family. cold, bitter, far to be comfortable. and the ray of inspired script, the music, the landscapes and the links between characters are pillars of an interesting story about emotions, tragedies, hopes and fight against great problems. each actor does a real good job. sure, the sentimental slices are present. the pink crumbs of each soap opera are not little .but , in fact, the message, the acting, the story are not only good intentions expressions. and that fact is the most important aspect.
I learnt a lot from this show, about people's relations, reactions, love and hatred, also about man's shallow inside. Everyday and non-everyday stories that are still in present days which we can relate to. Actors did their job with their best and made me feel every emotion. I'm amazed even though it is very hard for watching. Bravo!

- CuriosidadesYavuz Bingöl declined the role of 'Ali Akarsu'.
- PifiasEspecially in a place like Turkey in the 1960s, if someone was found committing adultery (like Ali did) he would have been jailed.
