A good show, albeit with quite a bit of overacting during the capture of the alligators. And the dramatic slow motion view of the hunters firing their gun (apparently at the water), showing water splashing back up at them during the 'supposed kill' is so overused it kinda ruins this show for me at times. I can understand why they show that rather than the kills though, after seeing all the snowflake comments here about animal cruelty. Why people who should obviously be watching shows like Desperate Housewives, or The Bachelor comment on a show like this just baffles me.
Over the years, the show has had it's ups and downs. For me the show peaked around season 7 and 8. I actually stopped watching it after season 9, but am now getting reaquainted with the show. I stopped watching because of the new cast member Ronnie, who was introduced in season 10. At the time, I simply couldn't stand him, but I have since learned where the mute button is on my tv remote. For example: Ronnie says he calls his hunting partner Ashley 'Dead Eye Jones'. When in fact, shortly after Ronnie explains why HE calls her that, Ashley states her husband actually gave her that nickname. And Ronnie constantly calling her 'baby' and 'chay chay' gets EXTREMELY annoying. So much so, I have a hard time watching the show. I keep hoping Ashley tells him to shut the F up.
Overall though, the show is worth a watch. Just use the mute button when Ronnie is on screen or delivering dialog.

First I do not care for ronnie on the show cause he is loud and in my opion dumb. Now on the shooting when they shoot them when they are on the lines it always shows a water splash. I know a lot of the gators are shot with there heads above the water so why always show a splash it's gotten to fake on this part. Other than th oil se two things I absolutely love the show and will watch it for as long as it is on. In my opion troy and his boys are the best hunters on the show. To the producers I would love to see ronnie taken off the show cant even stand his voice. But over all again it's a great program.

Love the new season good to see Jr back and Elizabeth of course always love Troy Mel his new sidekick pickles my favorite of all swampers is Willie can't say anything about Swamp people without mentioning Bruce as well always love the show since day one would love to see Willie on the new snake show PS keep it up.
I will not be watching Swamp People anymore after tonight's episode. I have watched 32 minutes of it and I am not impressed with the darker tone of the story line. I also do not appreciate the ripping away of Liz and her beautiful family and replacing them with unknowns that we will probably never get to know now. I always chomped at the bit when I heard the new season was about to start every year. Thanks history channel. Life doesn't hold enough disappointments. You took something that was a true work of art and threw it down the toilet. We love you Liz and family. You, Troy, Bruce, Dave and Jeromy, the Landry clan, Guist family, Joe and Tommy, Willie and family, the true Swamo People. I'm glad I don't have any money invested in any ventures these new producers are going to create. And by the way, I know good television and family shows. You tossed a winner to hopefully another network.
Why are all the snowflakes moaning about this show?
Surely you understand the concept of culling?
The alligator has no natural enemy other than itself and man.
If they are left to multiply all year round there will be no other wildlife around.
They will eat everything fish, hogs.rats and anything else that lives in the swamp. And when everything is gone they'll eat cows , cats . Dogs and people.
This is why they can only hunt for 1 month every year.
Use your head.
