I am not Amish so I cannot pretend to know their ways and customs. That being said, I have always been under the impression that Amish people do not do schooling beyond 8th grade. So, how did the male lead character manage entirely on his own, to get into college with no high school education, transcript, and make it all the way as a veterinarian? I genuinely don't think it would have been possible. That little mistake kind of stuck in my head the whole movie. The movie was cute and I enjoyed it though. That mom and their beliefs seemed terrifying tbh. It made it seem like the Amish tend to hate everyone who isn't Amish. The Amish ex was really flirtatious which seems also out of character for Amish. The sister had no accent and spoke like a typical teen, so that added to the hard to believe aspect. Still, I really enjoyed it and adored the two leads. They were so great and sweet together and had such believable chemistry. Would love to see them in more, except perhaps on Hallmark and not Amish. Just playing normal American people who fall in love or whatever.
The two leads are married to each other and their previous Amish movie, Follow Your Heart, was one of my least favorite movies because it was unrealistic and rather disrespectful in its portrayal of the Amish.
This movie is so much better! I liked the script and the setting, and the leads were genuinely nice people throughout.
I found it amusing that there were no kisses during the movie between the leads, even though they were in love and had been dating for 6 months. No kisses allowed in these romance movies until the very end! It's a rule, I guess.
The Amish family was initially divided in their acceptance of April, as was expected, but everything turned out good in the end. No villains left. There was love and forgiveness. A sweet movie.

Real pleasant surprise here.
What I liked:
1) The whole premise was a lot of fun and well executed. I liked how they were fair in their film treatment of both "English" and Amish life.
2) Pretty believable plot all things considered. Yes, there were plot holes and times you had to otherwise suspend disbelief. But generally I was able to stay in the movie.
3) Good acting and character chemistry. The actors seemed to genuinely enjoy being in this film and it showed. On screen, the relationships did not feel forced.
4) Without spoilers, the resolution of the film was fun. Hallmark should take notes, because this is how you do it.
What I didn't like:
1) Sound was awful and inconsistent as others have noted. Also, while the cinematography was good, the color filtering was also not consistent.

Stopped watching half way through out of frustration. The music was so loud you could not hear the dialogue. April wasn't really a likable character. It was a waste. I picked this movie because I wanted a movie with no poor hard working damsel in distress getting saved by the secretly rich boy friend. Was glad to find a couple of equal standing. But no. This wasn't pleasant to watch. Even with the sound down and sub titles. I enjoy Hallmark movies because of the simple romances but am always frustrated that the female characters always need to be saved or taken care of by the guy or they have to some how change for the guy.
Any Hallmark movie is going to have the same tread: a cheesy screenplay, actors who are too methodical or over the top, and random musical interludes that barely intersect with the plot. But you know, I tolerated this picture just enough to finish it, even though I had no emotional attachment to the story nor did I find any of it funny.
I didn't care for the two main lovers in the slightest. I actually focused more on the main character's two siblings Levi and Rachel - they had a lot of spunk and were interesting to watch.
The fact that this Doctor ends up diagnosing the two women who dislike her the most (Naomi and Esther), anyone can see that from a mile away.
A sharper focus on Jesse's father or Jesse's prior relationship with Naomi may have given the film more life. Ultimately I thought the story was stagnant and mundane.

¿Sabías que...?
- CuriosidadesGaladriel Stineman and Kevin Joy are married to each other in real life.
- PifiasWhen a doctor is needed because the girl is have an appendix issue, they all stare around blankly. That is the not the case in most Amish communities. They will go to the nearest Mennonite home or English home to use a phone to call for help. And in many Amish communities they have set up a community kiosk where a phone is kept to call for emergencies.
