1 in 3 is an outstanding movie. We viewed the movie at the domestic violence shelter where I am the Case Manager. While there may be movies that depict domestic violence, there are few that portray what happens after a victim leaves, what happens when they have to seek shelter, and few if any that portray what it is like for the advocates who help them. The job as an advocate is not an easy one and is difficult for people to understand who are not familiar with working with victims of domestic violence. As a survivor myself, I can say that this sheds light on what a victim goes through and just how scary it can be to leave an abusive partner. This movie was very realistic and we will be adding to our list of movies of training materials.
