Two things - First don't expect historical authenticity from the show .. And second don't expect a lot of depth from the story ..
But if you watch the show solely for entertainment, it is a fantastic series .I watched it in one sitting , that is how addictive it is .The characters , interpersonal relationships and the drama was very soap opera like and very engaging .There wasn't a dull moment in the show .. Also the visuals though not mounted on a grand scale look very authentic .
Also the treatment of the story is different from what we are used to seeing in Indian historical dramas and this is when I realized the writers are not Indian .. The show overall is fresh and a must watch , especially for people who like edge of the seat historical thrillers .
Now can't wait for the second season .

The series is all about the throne of emperor Akbar
The series is made in extravagance manner like the costumes ,the locations ,the palaces ,the fights ,the ornaments very rare we get to see this Every small details have been captured very well and has explained minutely
Every actor has contributed their best in all faces like anger ,hatred ,emotions ,love ,jealousy
The climax was concluded very well as they elongated salims character and made him ready to carry the 2nd season.
Watch it to brush your history
Many reviewers have given high stars and have mentioned MOVIE in their titles why all this let the series get recommendations organically.

I recommend everyone to watch this epic masterpiece series like any other series!
Acting, Cinematography, Story, Direction, Costume designing, background score, Lighting, Set, is all brilliant.
It has all the elements on right place. Naseeruddin Shah is the heart of this Series.
After a very long time, there comes a great series from India.
Something never done in indian series till date.
Sadly nowadays we judge all the shows and movies based on religion.
I don't know Why people just don't accept their history as it is. If you don't like history just go back in time and change it.
My rating is 8/10.
Go for it, don't miss it at any cost.

I saw the 5 episodes of taj and must say it's a very very well written show. The way the characters are looking and they have performed is making this show look so different. The cinematography is standing out also the shot taking is not like any regular show. The hardwork is visible with the details that are shown in the show. Looking forward to the other episodes as the story gets interesting from this point and I am too eager to know where will this go. It was a pleasure to watch dharmendra paji after so long. He still has the same hold in his performance even at this age. Kudos to the creator.
Taj divided by blood is a historical drama show directed by ron scalpello.
Naseeruddin shah and aashim gulati are the two bright spots in the otherwise dull acting department. Both of them bring the fragile yet compassionate male presence in the show. Taha shah badussha kept screaming throughout, making it unbearable to watch him. Only scene invloving him providing me comfort is when he asks and contemplates about what he needs to do to gain akbar's praise. Aditi rao hydari has been mostly wasted in the show. None of the other characters infuse life into the characters.
The writing treats the characters as pieces and not humans. Daniyal's mother problems could have been so meticulously designed giving him so much depth but alas! The plot twist surrounding this does work well though. Murad was almost devoid of any emotion other than rage and screams. The screenplay is entertaining no doubt but is not engaging and nuanced. The middle episodes are stretched without much substance which give the feel of a soap opera.
The set and production design is marvellous. The palace and locations can transport you in the medieval india. The action set pieces are very loud and amateurishly staged. The vfx work is patchy here and there.
The dialogues are well written and interpreted. It could have been more effective if the characters saying them had a better dialogue delivery. The cinematography looks monotonous and stifled.
The show highlights the frailties and faults of the mughal dynasty quite successfully. Familial feuds were a common occurrence in most of the dynasties, especially in the mughal family. The concept of harem and multiple wives have been criticised heavily through slight pokes. The mughals used the rajputs as their source of false sense of integrity, using them as cover for their barbarism and social weddings. Maharana pratap has been cherished in this series. Akbar was the most lenient of the mughal rulers, and he really thought about the hindus but bound by his surrounding barbaric muslim courtsmen, he could not do much.
The background score is grand and pushes the show towards its good. The strings, and operal sounds work well in favour of the show.
