Power Drill Massacre

Power Drill Massacre was the game that made Benedetto Coccuza AKA Puppet Combo a known name within the horror video game community, and in my opinion, it is very deserving of that title. First of all, the gameplay itself is very immersive and intriguing. The story is simple, the setting is very eerie, and the gameplay is tense. The entire building being pitch black aside from the small area lit up by the players flashlight and the complete lack of any music whatsoever makes it all the more terrifying when you hear the screeching of the power drill as the man holding it sprints towards you. The second reason I adore this game though, is the whole style of it all. The story, title and cover art are all very reminiscent of classic American Slasher movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween from the 70's and 80's. Meanwhile the game itself's art style replicates horror games like Resident Evil and Clock Tower on the original Playstation. Yes, the game does have a few issues. The Killer is very hard to escape from after being encountered and the jump-scares could be seen as a little over the top. But I personally think that the game's positives massively outweigh the negatives.
