Priyanshu Painyuli and Alaya F in U Turn (2023)

Plot confused between paranormal and psychological

It make no sense at all, one moment it tries to portray things to be paranormal by showing things happening behind ghostly logic, and 2nd it tries to portray things to be well planned conspiracy of a mastermind, this movie is one of those few clueless low budget Hollywood murder mystery where just before the movie end the plot logic reveals and uncover the random plannings of a mastermind who was working not from the shadows but while staying near you, it's an extremely shallow way of fooling the audience into thinking the movie was mind boggling but actually it's totally the opposite if you reconsider into details.

Very engaging film !! Alaya F shines bright once again!

Film Review : U Turn streaming on Zee 5 #sanjuzzreviews #UTurnOnZEE5 #UTurn #ZEE5 #AlayaF A remake of the 2016 Kannada film, U Turn is a suspense, horror, thriller film which will definitely appeal to fans of this genre if u haven't watched the original.

Starring Alaya F as an investigative journalist probing into mysterious deaths happening due to commuters taking an illegal U-Turn on a particular flyover. All deaths are deemed as suicides by police but our protagonist isn't convinced & suspects either foul play or some paranormal force's behind them. To find out the truth, she herself breaks the rules and takes a U Turn on the ill-fated flyover. Will she uncover the truth behind the unnatural deaths or become a victim herself is what this film is all about. Won't disclose any further as it would spoil the fun 🙂

Alaya F as the protagonist is awesome, an actress with great potential . With meaningful roles like these she could really make it amongst the A-listers for sure. Rest of the cast Priyanshu Painyuli as her cop friend, Manu Rishi Chaddha and Rajesh Sharma have given decent performances.

Well directed by Arif Khan , U-turn has a lot of jump scare moments which will keep you guessing till the end. The climax too has been well showcased without going over the top.

I liked the film .. definitely worth a watch !!

Going with 3/5 for this one .. adios🙂!!

Thrilling U Turn

Sameer lodaya

the movie started with a U Turn and then it continued the thrill.

The content is of I'll effects of a restricted U Turn was good and the director Arif made it in a very sharp and thrilling way..the movie will keep your seats tight as the thrills and suspense are too intense..it is purely a weekend chill movie on a OTT which is light and thrilling...the movies is in a reasonable pace and length without any drags or wasted scenes..the climax is little loose but it's not bad

Alaya and Priyanshu played very decently their lead roles and took the turns properly..

A good weekend watch.

Bollywood is obsessed with SEX. Simple thriller killed with unnecessary sex oriented dialogues

I have watched Hindi dubbed U Turn and now watched U Turn remade in Hindi (watched only for 5mins). Reason - U Turn south version was watchable with family. My entire family along with 5-10 yr old girls enjoyed movie. The moment I've started this movie, Alaiya informs her mother that she had sex with many guys without condom. Please someone tell me is it an achievement done by her. When would writers understand that we need good decent movies which can be watched by family. I did not watch movie further as I feel these days web series or movies are unnecessarily getting obsessed with SEX and sex oriented dialogues. Please do not make such movies.

One time watch sitting on your couch is QUITE OK!!! Provided you haven't seen the originals and don't know this is a remake.

I have no idea why users are trashing this movie in their reviews. This movie is nothing outstanding, but will worth your time for about 1 hr 40 mins. However be cautious to watch it if you have kids along, because of some dialogues in the beginning (which makes sense there has to be something to catch your attention at the opening) and some language and some drug use. I also fall out with other reviewers who says the protagonist is anti Indian as regards culture and norms pertaining to women in Indian society. I'll say wtf just grow up buddies, feminist groups will thrash you the way you are thrashing the movie.

Overall, for a first time viewer, who has no idea that even original versions of the movie exist, and this is a remake....it will keep you entertained with a run time like a Hollywood movie....maybe it wont take long for you to forget the movie...and it wont be nominated for Oscars in foreign movie category...BUT one time watch is QUITE OK....give it a try....this THRILLER will keep you entertained for the entire run time.

Predictable from light years away !

U Turn is a multiple times remade film with now being Bollywood's turn to remake it after 2018 Samantha's remake. The original came out in 2016.

I didn't understand why this film was remade so many times ? Is the original material way better than what i watched? Does it have better covering of suspense? Could be...need to watch the original to confirm but the Hindi remake version of U Turn was super super super predictable from almost a light years away from the climax. Just 25 mins into the film i could say how people who violated the U Turn rule got killed . In fact i could even predict who the culprit was after the jail killing sequence.

In between the film desperately tries to infuse some horror elements to try divert you from what you predicted but knowing that this is not a horror suspense, such an attempt is futile and that i already knew there would be an explanation in the climax as to how the paranormal stuff was happening with the rule violators .

The only suspense which i felt was hidden well was who actually created that one accident which is shown right at the start. It's only revealed at the very end but that too is revealed in a very unconvincing way like as if it was just appended to the end without any effort .

Everyone is wasted here . Good talents like Priyanshu and Aleya all are wasted although I would say Priyanshu did look good in some parts. The film could have been better if there was some emotional angle developed between the culprit and their deceased family .

Luckily there are no songs and the film is not very long but knowing the facts from far off, you just wish the end come faster .

Overall, it's a predictable film that suspense thriller lovers will definitely not like.

Brave attempt

Its a great movie nice story if you are looking for a thriller crime then its too good for you. Enough chills and thrills Alaya F is setting bars high did a very nice work. Applauses for post production and the director. Still he fails to engage audience to the predictable story. Priyanshu also played his lead role very nicely. Still there were somethings missing that was unable to engage me that much. Alaya F holds the film together with right emotions other were able to fit in their characters very nicely with less efforts It was a thriller movie hence song did not made that much impact.

Been fictional yet it says "Inspired by true events"

A very ordinary

A very ordinary suspense and horror movie. These web series due are not that thrilling, yes the positive fact there aren't any stupid songs in it. So viewing should be from very minimal expectations.

Alaya F the daughter of yest years sensation Pooji Pedi, is surely improving with the numbers of movies she is doing, better then her mother at least.

But there is nothing new, there is nothing extra ordinary in the movie, there is nothing worth sticking or watching it for the second time. There is no thrill moment in the entire movie which will make you jump. There is no such drama, the conclusion is very ordinary.

Just a simple one time watch and if you dont, not missing on anything.

Well-made Suspense Thriller - without any songs (thankfully)!

The Screenplay of this Suspense Thriller is Taut and the pacing of the Narration is concise - which will hold your attention till the end. The revealing of the secrets behind the main plot is done smoothly and appealingly!

Loved the Background Music which enhances the Suspense and Thrill in every scene!

No unnecessary sub-plots!

No unnecessary songs (sung by actors, that is)!

No boring moments!

Those here criticising the Maa-Beti Sex talk as against so-called Indian Culture are Sexually Repressed, Prudish hypocrites!

PS: This is not a Supernatural Thriller (as mentioned in Wiki)! But there are some "Ghosts" though! Go and see for yourself! LOL!

Loved it!

I really enjoyed this. Alaya is definitely the best out of her gen's nepo lot and she is only growing from strength to strength as an actress. Aashim does not have much to do so I don't think it would be fair to assess him. I am guessing that his role was trimmed down significantly during the editing process; I expected a bit more importance from his character. The actor who played Dillon's role ( Manu Rishi) was fantastic. This is the first movie i have seen him in and will definitely keep an out for him future. He completely nailed his role - there was so much for him to accomplish in such a short span of time within the movie and he completely nailed it.

Stopped are 5 min watch. Promotion of free sex culture!

The fact that this movie promoted free sex culture caused me to quit watching it after only five minutes. The mother and daughter's conversations appear to be propagating cultures that are not acceptable in Indian society. I did not care to watch it, so I am unsure of the plot, but such films are risky for youngsters of today and parents should exercise caution before exposing their children to such content. Free sex culture has undermined family values and contributed to youth drug addiction, mass shootings, prostitution, and other negative outcomes in developed countries like the US and the UK.

U turn - It was a nice chilly watch on a hot summer night.

After my office shift ended. At 9:30pm I opened my laptop and was just think what to watch. I remembered that i saw a 15 sec trailer of a murder mystery film on Zee5. So i launched Zee5 and i found the name is U Turn. So i switched off the light in my room and put on the lights in the adjacent room so it isn't complete dark. And then I watched the whole movie at a go.

And believe me time just flew by, as the story is very engaging, BGM was so good, acting performances were top notch, production of the movie seemed pretty good, camera work was excellent, with very good direction and sharp editing.

Alaya F , after i saw her last perform on Freddy, this was another very good performance from her .

I watch all kinds of movies but still I just love watching a horror or murder mystery done right way. And this was murder mystery with a pinch of horror done right way.

I gave this 9 on 10 as i very rarely see a mystery or a horror done right in Indian film industry.

I want to mention the reason now, on why i deducted 1 star or 1 point from the movie. Which is - Wrong casting of honourable actor Mr Manu Rishi Chaddha as Inderjeet Singh. Manu sir is a great actor, but i really felt he was not the right choice for this role, even though he gave the best performance he could, i have no complaints on that. But still I feel someone else should have been casted for Inderjeet. Someone like a chameleon who gets completely lost in the color of the role he is playing.

And On top of my mind, 1 actor's name which i could have suggested if I was somehow related in making of this film. Mr Pawan Malhotra, another great actor of Indian film industry. I am sure if Someone like Pawan sir would been casted he would have taken the role of Inderjeet on to a next level.

So due to wrong casting the ending of the movie dipped a bit.

But over it was a nice watch.

Recommended to anyone who is looking to watch a good murder mystery.

Could have been a decent watch without glorifying promiscuity.

Cringe dialogues, typical strong independent woman shown and the guys around are all stupid. You don't need to portray a strong character of a woman by just showing that she sleeps around with multiple men, smokes, has commitment issues, and promotes degeneracy. Movie itself had so many loopholes, the twist didn't make sense at all. I wasted my time so you guys don't. If you come across this review just skip the movie, thank me later.

I thought Alaya was smarter than this. It's crazy how foolish these actors think the public really is. How can they not know my saying those cringy dialogues that they are absolute trash.

U-Turn is Filled With Enough Thrills and Chills to Keep Viewers Interested !!!

A remake of the 2016 Kannada film of the same name, Arif Khan's first directorial venture skillfully hooks you right from the opening scene, when an accident happens on the flyover because of traffic offenders. This mysterious accident forms the backbone of the film and unravels in the climax. Although the plot is similar to the original film, this 'U-Turn' keeps you engaged throughout.

The story follows the life of rebellious Radhika Bakshi (Alaya F), an intern journalist who wants to crack the story about traffic offenders who disrupt the divider and take a U-turn on the double lane flyover in Chandigarh. While investigating this story for her article, she finds herself in a precarious predicament that makes her the prime suspect in one of the murders. Will she be able to prove her innocence while also assisting the investigating officers-Arjun Sinha (Priyanshu Painyuli), Inderjeet Singh Dhillon (Manurishi Chadha) and Surrinder Kumar Yadav (Shreedhar Dubey)-in solving the case ?

Writers Parvez Sheikh and Radhika Anand's screenplay and director Arif Khan's taut direction ensure the story moves along quickly for most part, even when the narrative goes into flashbacks. The story is filled with enough thrills and chills to keep viewers invested. The sequences, such as how the first murder occurred, and the eerie soundtrack (by Ketan Sodha), keep you on the edge of your seat. However, some of the approaching twists and the big revelations during the climax can be spotted from a far. The film is primarily shot in the dark with persistent heavy rain serving as the backdrop, but the added effect only makes it difficult for viewers to grasp what's going on.

The dialogues of the film are quite average. But, the crisp editing by Rohit Ajit Makhwana deserves special mention here as there is no dull movement in the film and the screenplay moves at a brisk pace.

Alaya F. Brings her character to life. From a rebellious and independent girl to detective Byomkesh Bakshi (as she is often compared in the film)-Alaya is brilliant as Radhika. Similarly, Priyanshu Painyuli (better known for his role as Bhavesh Joshi) gives a decent performance as an empathetic and astute cop. Manurishi Chadha is simply fantastic. Rajesh Sharma, who plays H. S. P Saxena, contributes nothing to the plot and is completely squandered. Even Aashim Gulati, Radhika's coworker and love interest, has no substantial role.

Overall, this mystery thriller that deals with the consequences of traffic violations adds a topical and relevant element to the story while also acting as a useful reminder to always follow the rules of the road for your own and others' safety. Watch it !!!

When u can't even copy properly, and Why Prostitution being added

Regrettably, the lack of understanding regarding the intended audience led to the creation of unfounded content, falsely labeled as entertainment. The original version was vastly superior, causing disappointment after investing time in this production featuring exceptional actors and a compelling storyline. It is disheartening to witness such a significant failure in direction.

Ekta Kapoor ought to consider retiring promptly for the sake of quality. Her continued involvement in the industry seems detrimental, as evidenced by the immense misdirection evident in this show. It is a disservice to the talented actors and the viewers who anticipated a worthwhile experience. The absence of a clear target audience suggests a lack of understanding and professionalism. It is time for Ekta Kapoor to step aside gracefully and allow fresh perspectives to breathe life into the world of entertainment. The industry deserves better than the disappointing outcome we have witnessed.
