As a fan who only choose bl who's great and have a nice plot, I can say Light on Me is one of the best. Yes, it has connection to school like other typical bl but this series just hit different. The actors are great at acting and the way it was filmed is great (kdrama is really good at making series). I guess I also love this series because it's korean. My only wish was that it must be longer than 20 mins and I'm waiting for the second season. I'm rewatching it right now and the butterflies I felt from this series is still there. I really hope the second season will be announced this year or next year.

Very well written character developments. The story is not very slow or fast just the perfect speed.
Supporting roles also did a great job.
Nam Goong was my favorite character. Very beautifully and cheerfully portrayed role! Always in a light mood and motivating others!
I still feel like Shin Da On deserved more!!! So not gonna rate it a perfect 10 But it is worth a watch!
All round- a cute and sweet show.

I recently discovered the Korean and Japanese Boys Love sub-genre and was pleasantly surprised at the sensitivity depicted through this series.
(Light On Me is a romance Korean drama series based on the BL (Boys Love) game 'Saebit Boys High School Council', following this it was adapted into a webtoon titled 'I am a Counselor of Saebit Boys High School Council' (also known as 'Behind the Desks - Love is Addiction) and later a K-drama.
The premise of the series follows a young man named Woo Tae Kyung who joins his student council to make friends but ends up meeting his first love. During his time there, he gets to know No Shin Woo, Shin Da Won and Nam Gung Shion. Each person with a unique personality.)

I came here determined to rate 10 stars no matter how low the other ratings would be. I couldn't believe my eyes. To be honest, I have no idea why I loved this show. There was hardly a plot. Everybody seemed a bit slow, the boys were girlier than girls, batting their lashes and moving their hands awkwardly, everything was so impossibly innocent and pink and sugar-coated, it was only short of rainbows and unicorns. Some scenes were plain embarrassing. Yuck!
Still... I was hooked, OMG!!!! I couldn't sleep or work! What got into me!!! It was like a spell. My heart sunk several times, I almost choked trying not to wake up everybody by laughing in the middle of the night. Right now there is a huge smile on my face.
So. I didn't like it, but I was mesmerized by it. And that's all that matters. Best BL so far. Good job 👍😍

The story was ok, but the acting was unbearable. Disaster to be honest.
I understand that it's hard to play a non-social person, but it doesn't mean you should put up a poker face all the time. That's not acting, that's just reading the script. And I wonder if the protagonist actor realized that the story wanted the character to become mature enough to be with others. Well, I didn't see that progress.
Btw, I was hoping that the music could save a bit, but no. There were a lot close-ups where actor making poker face, no music at all. Those moments were really awkward and confusing.

As an ardent BL fan I would highly recommend this! The characters of Noh Shin Woo, Namgung and Teacher Seo were especially amazing! I bet everyone would end up liking them! Though I am not very fond of the characters of Da On , TaeGyung and Seo Hee, their character development was well done. And I feel like they could have given us more moments of the main couple but still it was very cute and fluffy!

This show is so good in terms of conveying the feelings of teenagers who are trying to fit in this world. They want to know themselves, struggling with their feelings, they want their own space in this world without being judged. This show conveyed it well from the teenager's point of view.
Talking it about acting, storyline, leads all are pretty well and decent. Nothing was overdo or cringey.
This story have all kind of emotions. Go for it.
PS :- Noh Shin Woo is the cutest ; )

"Light on Me" is kind of a weird one. We have a high school BL romance with a focus on friendship and some Coming-of-Age thrown in. I liked it because of its innocent sweetness, but it has some very cringe moments as well.
The characters seem strange at first, like overdone just a bit too much, even awkward at times. After a while, they develop more depth than they usually do in Korean BLs, surely due to the longer format of 16 episodes. They have their strength and their flaws and some development, and the typical Coming-of-Age element of finding out who you are and what kind of person you want to be is integrated really well. Partially, the acting and the writing could have been a little bit better though. Especially Tae-kyung comes across as wooden and even helpless at times, although he is a refreshingly honest and courageous person.
Although I don't like love triangles, I didn't mind that one. It's a love story between three friends in a group of four and maintaining the friendship and respecting each other seems to be important for all of them. Therefore, we aren't tortured with overbearing jealousy and annoying competitions, they all act empathetic and loyal to each other. Friendship goals for sure!
I don't know why the only female character has to be so boring and selfish. I didn't care for her at all, and her development feels rushed and therefore not believable.
If you are looking for a light, undramatic slow burn with mainly non-toxic characters, "Light on Me" is just the right show to watch.
