I love Christmas movies, but this one rose above all the others. The characters were believable; the story line was interesting and had depth; the dialogue was interesting, witty, and fun;, and I was glued to the television. I loved every minute!
Actors were well done. The script , however, was not breezy conversational. The plot called for breezy but the dialogue played a bit arch and stilted. That said it had a Happy Ending and who can overly criticize anything in these times that "proposes" such.
As a longtime Hallmark Christmas movie fan, I'm happy to see a little competition. I liked the Hallmark movies better when they did just a few movies a season. They were fresher. Now that they put them out factory-style, it's harder to find the gems among dozens of offerings.
"A Christmas Proposal" was refreshing, even though it did borrow from Hallmark plots (fake relationship, sibling rivalry, a Christmas ball where all is revealed); it was reminiscent of "Snow Bride."
The cast was great. The diversity was organic; Hispanic actors in an Hispanic family story.
Definitely worth watching, even though you now have to stream it on Paramount+ (clever marketing to attract new viewers, since the same movies aren't shown over and over again).
I look forward to more offerings, and hope the competition inspires Hallmark.

A truly warm and charming Christmas movie.
A movie with a message.
And a amazing cast that you get to know and cheer on.
It is a new Christmas classic.
I encourage every one to get a nice cup of tea or hot chocalate and watch this wonderful movie with friends and family.

7.7 stars.
Interestingly, the only way I've found this film was by looking up one of the lead actors, because she is in a really popular show this year. As I was looking through her list of roles, I noticed this one. I've always been a sucker for a good Christmas movie, so I figured I'd check it out. Surprisingly it's only on Paramount+. And luckily I subscribe. But if you look at all the reviews, they all begin and end in December 2021, which says a lot about the lack of advertising for this movie.
That being said this film fits neatly in with hundreds of Hallmark films of the Christmas genre. If you had asked me on which network I think this film was made, I would say Hallmark, no doubt. That's how neatly and perfectly it fits in with the hundreds of Hallmark Christmas movies I've seen. On the other hand, 'A Christmas Proposal' is well done, and it's almost 2 hours, which is a rare treat, especially because it's a decent film. I plan on watching this again every few years.
