Lot of touching moment. Thanks to all the doctor and nurses sacrifice themselves during those hard times as we know the movie only show some part of the hardships they had to endure. Bring tears whenever see the mask rubber mark on their face. It's disgusting whenever's western media say something bad about China while they are trying hard to fight against the virus. Hope Virus will be gone and peace for everyone.
This movie has no other purpose than glorifying the Chinese Communist Party.
The story is hollow and i doubt it will have any success exporting itself outside of China.

The same director that gave us the excellent movie The Captain (2019) is also directing this drama, and some of those cast members also returned to work on this project. As I had previously loved The Captain, I thought that Chinese Doctors would likely be a good movie too and I was not disappointed!
This is a pretty good medical drama of a real event with a lot of tense moments that gives the audience a feel of how the atmosphere was like in Wuhan during China's first COVID-19 outbreak there. It also illustrates pretty well all the logistical hoops epidemic outbreak management have to go through and the pressure that medical front line workers undergo during such crisis, not to mention the effects that the outbreak had on ordinary people.
Realism is given high priority. The Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital and the main character of this movie, Zhang Dingyu, really exist and, yes, Zhang Dingyu does suffer from ALS in real life too. I commend the scriptwriters for going in-depth with their exploration to accurately recreate the events that happened. For those who have some knowledge of Chinese, it's also a nice small detail that the doctors kept their regional accents; for example, the doctor Tao Jun speaks Mandarin with a Cantonese accent, because he's from Guangdong; I felt that these regional accents (which are often omitted in Chinese movies) gave more authenticity to the setting of this movie.
Basically, if you love stories based on real life crisis events wherein professional staff have to work under extreme pressure to save the day (which I do), then this type of movie is definitely for you. Lovers of pandemic movies will also enjoy this movie, as it is based real events that happened during a real pandemic. I read from another reviewer that the Soviets have designated for this type of movie about "social interacting between people who works in particular industry or professions" a particular genre called 'Proizvodstvennaya'; while I've never heard of that genre before, I fully agree with the sentiment that we need more of that type of movie, because I love this!

First of all, this is a great example of genre usually named in USSR as "proizdodstvennaya drama" (this is simple means films about social interacting between people who works in particular industry or professions), great genre to make other peoples more acknowledge about everyday silent heroic feat of workers and specialist. So, now when you understand this - you can go and watch this film and can be fully admire with actions of chinese doctors.
And yes it has some political opinions, but like 3 minutes at all. Why someone who on daily basis eat american propaganda in entertainment (!) movies even complain about that? If you are from Taiwan just go see Taiwanese film about doctors if you have any. Why you go here and blabbing about chinese opinions in chainese films? And for production value its really top notch, like oscar quality (and yes I see them films Spotlight, Gold, Deep water - its sort of "production dramas"), and "The Captain" was a great film too, because they made by golden standards of this genre with some typical HK melodramatic moments. So don't try make it about politics while this all about heroic doctors.

From "captain of China" to "doctor of China", Liu Weiqiang is on the blacklist. Some people say that if he doesn't answer, no one dares to shoot, but still that sentence, don't do porcelain work without diamond. Like the captain, great efforts have been made to show the degree of professionalism, but any role is extremely Facebook and paper-based, serving the prefix "China", so it's not people, but tools. The full screen soundtrack, the MV screen that can be entered at any time, and the story branch line without head and tail seem to watch public service advertisements in the cinema. There are not even many real public service advertisements. Instead of putting so much content in one brain, it's better to find a doctor, a nurse or a patient to tell the story. It's all right to see the big from the small, but now it has become a sensational hodgepodge. The self righteous group image story has completely collapsed. This is the lowest way of creation. It is extremely disappointing to spend so much manpower and material resources to make such a work to pay tribute to the great medical staff.
