Tomb Raider

3/18/18. Saw this on the big screen today and it was worth it. A nicely done action/adventure movie that will remind you a little bit of Indiana Jones. Vikander is great as Lara Croft, who decides to look for her missing father, and ends up fighting for her life. Great action sequences with a decent story line. Supporting cast was very good. Worth catching.

Not sure what everyone was expecting or why even compare this to the first film or even the game. This was more of a prequel to the first film and it was really well done! Alicia Vikander was great in her role. A well deserved 8/10 from me.

I watched the movie last night and really liked it. I've never played any of the tomb raider games so I just look at it as any other action movie and think this was a very okay movie. I watched a long time ago Angelina Jolie as Tomb Raider and never liked it because they just go overboard with the whole female big ass and big boobs.

This movie shows a whole other side of Lara Croft and I personally like it much better. It's not set up like your typical one man hero movie and I hope we see more of her in future Tomb Raider movies!

For what it's worth, I enjoyed Vikander as Lara Croft. Not every movie needs to be innovative and thought provoking. Tomb Raider succeeds at being a a popcorn, intense adventure flick. It did feel more like Uncharted than Tomb Raider, IMHO.

Seriously this is like some kind of 1930's soviet world where all of a sudden people start getting cropped out of photos. Laura Croft without her signature pistols is absurd. I have no trouble with Vikander, she is a great actor. but having her, with an unsighted composite bow (!), make bow shots that are impossible at 1/10 the range, treats the audience like idiots. Seriously this film does not merely require that you suspend disbelief, it is a fight film which requires that: a) you know nothing whatsoever about fighting and b) that you have an IQ below 80. (hence all the "8" through "10" star reviews by people so dumb that they think we can't see their only account activity is to upshill this stinker!)
