Resumen
Reviewers say 'The White Lotus' is a polarizing show with mixed sentiments. Many praise its unique storytelling, dark humor, and social satire, highlighting themes of wealth and privilege. Performances by Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Bartlett are lauded, along with the cinematography, setting, and music. However, some find the characters unlikable and the plot lacking, criticizing the slow pace and shallow character development. Despite these criticisms, the show's ability to provoke thought and discussion is often noted.

The White Lotus is so much better than I expected. Both seasons have all-star casts from top to bottom and all do an incredible job. I can't point that out enough, both casts are perfect. Also, the visuals on this show are just beautiful. This series has already won so many awards for season one and I expect season two to win just as many. It's both funny and serious in how it shows the difference in classes and how some of the wealthy and privileged live their lives. There are no real villains in this show but definitely some frustrating and annoying characters. There are so many great characters that everyone will have their favorite and most annoying.
Season 2 in Italy was overall the best one so far. Season 1 is right behind that. Season 3 was a downer and way too slooooow. It is not a coincidence season 1 was just 6 episodes and season 2 was 7 while boring, slow season 3 was 8! It really could have been just 6 episodes and it would have come across as more action packed and dramatic. The common thread across all three seasons so far is the superb acting and filmography. It does not matter where in the world this production crew goes, it will be an immersive experience for the viewer. As for season 4 coming up (location TBD), I hope they cut it down to 6 episodes and stay away from the overarching darkness of season 3. Yes, people died in each season but season 3 hits you differently and not in a good way at all.
I loved the first and second season of The white lotus. The pacing was nice, the mood was beautifully set with music and mythology. I loved the characters and their stories and there was stuff happening. The third season however has a pacing issue in my opinion. Right now I am on the second episode and both episodes were very, very boring. Most of the characters are really unlikable. The characters that were unlikable in the first two seasons were at least fun. The ones in the 3rd season are just unlikable and have no redeeming qualities. I hope something good happens in the third episode, because I am slowly loosing my patience. Also I have a complaint about the theme song. Loved the first two iterations in the previous seasons, but this one isn't as good at all. I would rate the first 2 seasons with an 8 and this season with a 5. If the season gets better I will come back and edit this review. If not-you will know;)
I loved both seasons one and two. However, while it's still a good show, I'm disappointed that it doesn't have the same vibe as it had previously. My favorite character was killed off in season two and it was such a shame. She brought so much to the show and allowed for wonderful characters to develop in and around her. I really think Mike West lost what makes this show great in season three. There's just something lacking and I don't know if it's the story or the characters. I honestly couldn't care less about the suicidal father and his wife is absolutely horrendous. I will finish the season but so far I'm not impressed.
I will say from the start this isn't a series for everyone, it's different, there's tons of charecter development, and it's a show I'd find much more enjoyable binge watching then consuming one episode per week.
I've grown to love limited series, immediately there is a start and end point set out from the get go. There's no cliffhangers written with no exact conclusion in mind or series that goes on way past its shelf life. This series is so well done it gives you a definitive, acceptable conclusion that leave little if anything to conclude. It's great when a season of episodes ends and it leaves you begging for more, however it's also great to watch a short series that tells its story while manages to leave no stone on turned and you're satisfied with it's ending and enjoyed it. In a lot of ways I believe this series left a wonderful blueprint for future limited series to come.

¿Sabías que...?
- CuriosidadesJake Lacy claimed that due to the COVID-19 production bubble, the season 1 cast all actually did stay in the same hotel and eat every meal together at the same restaurant just like their characters in the show.
- PifiasIt is made clear that Season three takes place on the island Samui. This is located on the east side of the mainland in the Gulf of Thailand. The tsunami of 2004 had no effect on Samui, because that took place in the west and there is a land mass in between. Also there are no islands surrounding Samui. There is also no marina. The landscape during the boat trip is that of the sea north east of Phuket, also known as James Bond Island (location for The Man with the Golden Gun).
