The couple of short horror films I've seen from this director were genuinely scary and well-made, but this one feels more like a miss than a hit. It just didn't deliver the same spine-chilling effect as the others.
First, the sinister creature looked like a B-grade version of the Joker from Batman, which made me laugh more than scream.
Second, the core idea-send this message or show this media to someone else, or die-has been widely used in horror films like The Ring, It Follows, Polaroid, and Chain Letter (a full-length film by a different director). But here, it becomes completely meaningless if the message destroys the computer the moment it's read. There's not even a chance to make a choice-it just happens.
