As I'm seeing a few low reviews on this list, as a Norwegian I'd like to clarify a few things. The show's creator wanted, in large part, to make a show illustrating mental health issues that happen to young men. It's something that doesn't really get touched upon in modern media (although, if you have examples, correct me if I'm wrong). The scene that these people are involved in, are pretty much exclusive to Norway and Sweden in my experience. Putting a V8 engine in a Volve 240, is not something that most people would think to do. But in a Norwegian subculture called "rånere", it's a way of life. Hanging out with your friends, fixing and improving your car, living the easy life. For some American kids, it might be parties when your parents are out of town, or frat parties when you've gone away to college. For the young people in this series, this is their culture. Driving, seemingly endlessly, in a small rural community where the options to stimulate you are limited. It strikes at the core of the youth experience for a lot of people. Your clique. Who you hang out with. What are your common interests? Cars? Girls? Drinking? It's a unique way of how it is to be young. Are they first world problems? Sure they are. But that doesn't mean that they are any less relevant to the human experience. Personally, I love the show and I think it takes some bold steps, like Skam, to bring up important aspects that often don't get depicted as realistically in a TV show.
I saw season 1 and season 2 in two nights. Man, this is both fun and deep. I love how the cast fit together. Like, the one makes the other better. This show has heart, so much heart!
I had to cry at some point, it couldn't be stopped. And the experience behind it all, I know it so very well from my own experiences. And I also had to laugh many times, also from being the same kind of group as a youngster.
This should be seen by everyone. It has absolutely everything to offer. A solid 10/10.

I do not understand why everything has to be so sad in this series. The music is sad,the plot is sad,and all the worse happens.
The worst is that it is not done in a way that brings emotions, which is important
when depicting lifes enigmas. I had more hopes when i began watching :p
It is a lot of youngsters talking, driving and dealing with problems, but i am not sure what the message is supposed to be.
Is it to explore sorrow and mourning over people that passes ?
If so,i guess it is a meaningful message.
But i didn't feel i got to know any of the main characters. It all becomes a great enigma, and there is something unsolved.
Norwegian state tv production at the best. This series is real and acting is great and natural. Many funny and entertaining moments. The story follows a group of friends from the car environment in the country side with drama and relationships with intense emotional moments. Twists and surprises appear frequently and follows through the entire series. Filming and picture is beautiful and I can't find anything I didnt like. I enjoyed every minute of Rådebank!
