Promises u neighborhood and advance gameplay but just copy pastes last year game , with lots of glitches and making it soo much terribly hard to play that u just give up. No value for skills, all they want is to force u to but their VC and MT points to keep up with rest of people

Every year is worse. 70 bucks and sometimes can't bugs in the load of rec center. Screw Ronnie and his game. Not buying again.

This game is so broken they should win the most broken game of the year. Ronnie only hires people that do not know how to make a game.

Having read all the reviews it has become obvious that they have never played another sports games career mode. The production quality for this game is outstanding, and way better than any other sports game. Are there glitches, yes, is it perfect, no. But it does one thing no other sports game can and that is make you feel like an nba star.

The gameplay is almost exactly like 2k19. I could excuse this if most of the bugs were fixed, but they are not even close to improving. Lob plays are entirely based on luck, the game will randomly cause 'illegal screens' and the foul calls are laughable. Don't buy this game

I've never seen the release of a game completely botched like this before. I've had this game for 4 days and it's still not operating correctly. Missing VC, attributes are working, not getting badges, etc. and after the patch, we now get WORSE after a perfect practice drill. No lie...negative progress numbers.
Just release the game two months later when it's actually finished next year. NBA Live anyone?

It's Ova, ladies and gentlemen and I don't care.
Now here's a life story review.
My video game basketball career really started winf NBA inside Drive 2000 and then I revived myself and went hot with Nba Live 2003 which will always be the GOAt of all sports and basketball video games.
I would play the hell out of NBA Live 2003 for years. I took I hiatus and returned to NBAL 2008 and that was my last draw. That game was bad via graphics, gameplay and features.
I was technically was supposed to make a return in 2019 however, I had accidentally bought Nba 2kay 19 by mistake... oh boy even that game was hash too.
My nba 2kay career began in 2011 with that bald headed guy from New York on the cover. That game was King. I played the hell out of that game then nba 2kay 12 and 13 came out, though I did not purchase those games, they still looked like crap.
Now back to NBA2Kay 19 that game was hash. Gameplay was hash. Plus in Season mode and etc. When you won a game, the standings would count it as a loss.
Anyways...
My final taste of virtual basketball is NBA2Kay 20. That game was a decent, good-okay-fine game.
The Good: dunks, gameplay, commentary, crowd, create a player
The Okay: features
The bad: The VC garbage, turning off servers, no customizing playoff mode. The annoying guest commentator. I forgot his name, but he has that whiny annoying voice, and he has a podcast.
Overall a fun game because I over played it for 3 years. I truly did love creating players and importing some neat ones too. Still, after this run there is no reason why I need to purchase another basketball video game because I'm done because now I've bored myself out. Spending hundreds to play the same game isn't a smart idea in 2022.

Several things about the 2k series that irritate me.
1. CPU players moving like the Flash, while your character moves like a sloth.
2. With an 85% 3 pointer, I hit about 10% of my shots.
3. If I am in paint for more than 3 seconds, foul is called, but if CPU players are in paint up to 5-8 seconds no penalty.
4. Not everyone who plays 2k games are rap fans, some of us are rock fans too.
5. Game often changes my guarding assignment to who has the ball just before they shoot, thusly causing me to suffer a negative drain on my team grade.

The gameplay sucks. The 'story mode' sucks. The graphics are no better than 2k19. There are several bugs in the game. This game is worse than the last few 2k games. It's slow and chunky.
This game literally makes me want to die.

Let me preface this with I'm an avid online head to head player. I'm hardline connected to internet to ensure no lag on my end for games. I play MyCareer to change things up every now and then but primarily online versus is where my review stems from.
I hadn't bought nba 2k since 2k16 because every year the reviews from actual fans showed this wasn't worth the money. Well, with the death of Kobe and nostalgia kicking in and the price of $16.99, I figured it was time to pick the sticks up again. If I could get that money back I would.
The game moves in slow motion and anyone who played 2K16 and prior knows they have clearly gone away from making that a great experience for us fans. With that being said, I don't know how anyone could give this game a 4 star or better unless this is your first experience with the 2K series ever.
Also, you tier the online play up and prevent us from using whatever teams we want? If I paid full price for this game and only had access to 10-12 of the teams I would make it my life's work to let these developers know how much they blow.
It's disheartening how bad this game has gotten over the years and I hope one day 2K takes the time to listen to the feedback. For future gamers, I really want for you to experience the 2K I fell in love with and would spend hours playing. But for me, I'm throwing in the towel. Trust these long wonder negative reviews folks. These money grabbers definitely pay for the 10 star reviews they get and that's a damn shame.

This game is utterly atrocious. Not only the worst sports game ever made, but worst game period. Good graphics wasted by horribly inaccurate ratings and gameplay. There may not have been any person knowledgeable about basketball involved. Whatever brain dead group of developers made this should be ashamed and never allowed near a video game again. Gone are the days of enjoyable and relatable sports games. Do not buy for any amount of money. Do not play even if free, it will only make you want to bash your head in if you know anything about basketball.

Microtransactions. That's all I have to say.
Oh, crap, I have to make my review longer? It has a terrible plot, atrocious dialogue, explicit soundtrack (THE GAME IS RATED E!) and lots more.
