Confirmed to be titled "Alien: Awakening"
Katherine Waterston and Michael Fassbender have both expressed interest in reprising their roles as David (Prometheus, Alien: Covenant) and Daniels (Alien: Covenant) for this film.
Ridley Scott has confirmed that this prequel installment will not be about revisiting the world of Prometheus stating, "We went down a route to try and reinvent the wheel with Prometheus and Covenant. Whether or not we go directly back to that is doubtful because Prometheus woke it up very well. But you know, you're asking fundamental questions like, 'Has the Alien himself, the facehugger, the chestburster, have they all run out of steam? Do you have to rethink the whole bloody thing and simply use the word to franchise?' That's always the fundamental question."
Due to the box office failure of "Alien: Covenant" (2017) and Disney's acquired ownership of 20th Century Fox, the movie was set aside in favor of "Alien: Romulus" (2024). However, since that movie's commercial success, Ridley Scott confirmed that he is developing another Alien film of his own.
Could take place between Alien: Covenant (2017) and Alien (1979).
