I just saw it in the premiere here in Istanbul. The movie will come out in Turkey and Romania, it will probably go directly to the video in other countries. It's about a killer who is inspired by paintings and killing for art! Two cops and a few other people are trapped in a building to help him perform his art. The movie has a great cast and they are doing their best to keep the movie watchable, it has an OK story but it has very poor directing. The special effects and the sound effects are awful. The music also doesn't do any good. It worths a rent just for the great cast. If you don't like any of the actors in it, give it a miss.

I hadn't even heard about this 2007 movie titled "Fall Down Dead" before now in 2020, when I stumbled upon it by sheer luck. The title initially was the thing that caught my attention, and seeing it being a horror movie, of course I would find myself sitting down to watch it.
Then I saw that the movie had Dominique Swain, Udo Kier and David Carradine on the cast list, so I thought it would actually have a possibility of being an interesting movie. So I must admit that my hopes were up for writer Roy Sallows and director Jon Keeyes' movie.
However, the title "Fall Down Dead" actually depicts pretty much what the movie does. The storyline was only vaguely interesting, but it was quickly losing its momentum as the plot unfolded on the screen. In fact, I managed to endure 1 hour of the movie before turning it off out of complete and utter boredom.
"Fall Down Dead" is a slow paced movie, and it feels even slower because of the rather pointless and very boring plot that the movie had.
My rating of "Fall Down Dead" lands on a mere, but generous, three out of ten stars. This movie was hardly worth the effort, and it was a swing and a miss for the likes of Dominique Swain, Udo Kier and David Carradine.

I saw this movie today and I am really shocked. this is one of those films that you can't understand how anybody didn't stand and say "hey wait a minute! this is crappy, we can't show this to people". maybe i'm a little bit exaggerating the situation, but maybe i'm not. the story is bad but not the worst. I can consider it OK. screenplay is really bad. acting is so poor that it is difficult for me to find the right word in English (which is not my native language) to describe it. even Udo Kier is bad in this one. during the whole movie, I was all like "what are they doing man? why would a cop do that?!". yep, the film doesn't make sense at all. and I have a few words about audio effects. it's not cool man, it sure is not cool. it is even unethical to use thrilling voices this much. two or three times in the movie, you hear increasing and disturbing voices and it turns out that there was no voice at all. it was just... not the killer. not a rat. not a machine. not the air floating through the corridors. it was just nothing. just an effect right there, occurring in the theater. I think there is a misunderstanding. producers of this film really misunderstood the thrillers they've seen so far.
p.s.: Hitchcock reference was annoying. i am offended as an admirer of Hitchcock's work.

I usually stay at the movies until the end, no matter how bad they are, but the incredibly stupid script, terribly bad acting and very very poor and lame storyline made me resist for only 3 quarters of the movie.
I just don't get it how so many people (about 140 at the time of this review) gave this piece of "art" 10's unless they are relatives to the actors or movie staff. Please don' be deceived and just ignore the 10's and you'll get a picture of how bad the movie really is.
This movie is an insult to an average people's intellect, and it's a real shame. Don't go !

I can't believe David Carradine agreed to participate on this movie. It is the worst thing I've watched since somebody lent me "Today you Die" with fat,out of shape Steven Seagal. The beginning is catchy but, after the first 10 minutes there is no mystery what so ever. The cops are very pathetic and the killer is not a believable character. It looks like if at the end the makers of the film were trying to add something interesting and dramatic but, instead added more flaws to the whole production. It is a slow pace movie. I'm sure that the original idea was good but the producers couldn't find the way to make it leave a nice impression on the audience. I was so annoyed by the fact that I had wasted my time watching this movie that I joined this website so, I could let it out.

In a big American city, the serial killer The Picasso Killer (Udo Kier) is terrorizing the dwellers and the police department does not have lead to find him. The bartender Christie Wallace (Dominique Swain) dreams on moving to the countryside with her six year-old daughter Zoe to have a peaceful life far from the violence of the city.
Late night of Christmas Eve, Christie leaves the Tides Bar where she works and walks back home. In an alley, she sees a woman dying covered on blood and The Picasso Killer sees Christie and chases her. She runs to a commercial building where the night watchman Wade (David Carradine) is reluctant to open the door and does not give credit to Christie. She calls the police and Detectives Stefan Kerchek (Mehmet Günsür) and Lawrence Kellog (R. Keith Harris) attend the call. When Christie tells that she can recognize the infamous serial-killer, there is a blackout, the phones are dead and the detectives cannot call the precinct. They lock the building waiting for reinforcement but sooner they find that The Picasso Killer has broken in the building and their lives are in danger.
The dull and lame "Fall Down Dead" has one of the worst screenplays I have ever seen. The plot begins with the free nudity of the character Marie, performed by Jennifer Alden and that does exist only to show her naked body in the bathroom. Then two experienced detectives and a security guard, all of them armed, are easily subdued by the serial-killer that is unarmed. The self-proclaimed The Picasso Killer tells that Christie would be his Mona Lisa; wouldn't be more appropriate the nickname The Leonardo da Vinci Killer? Last but not the least, Stefan Kerchek is shot three times, stabbed, falls from a significant height and is almost dying; out of the blue, he starts walking as if he would be healed in a laughable situation. My vote is one (awful).

To begin with I have to say that the beginning is good, because I was surprised to see(Mihaela Radulescu)the first actress;she is an important person in my country and that's way I thought that the film will be very good and I will have a scary night at last. But the time was passing by,the film was rolling and I got very disappointed. The acting was very poor even though the actors are famous...The sounds from the film weren't at the right place...nothing was happening but the sounds were there.
In the first place the cops were so stupid in that case were you have to be very scared and worried...to hurry up and call for protection..they were so indifferent..God!!!...you stay and wait for the next play and the cops were just ''playing''..you lose all in what concerns the film.
In the second place i want to say that i'm sorry for Mrs.Udo Kier..who is a great actor..but in this one?!!What have you done,Udo?..and I'm referring to the rest of the cast too.
To conclude..I have to say that it is a bad movie due to it's plot and for those who like horror movie, don't see it..I'm still wondering why I have seen it...I give it 2/10

Fall Down Dead (2007)
* 1/2 (out of 4)
Silly horror film about a young woman (Dominique Swain) who witnesses The Picasso Killer (Udo Kier) who has been stalking the city. She's able to get away and call police but there's a rolling blackout sweeping the city so she must stay inside a locked building with a group of other people and of course the killer gets in trying to get rid of them all. FALL DOWN DEAD is yet another in a seemingly endless string of slasher pictures where you get the feeling of deja vu from start to finish. I will say that director Jon Keeyes manages to make the film look very professional and I thought he handled the opening sequence quite well but when you're dealing with a routine screenplay that gives you everything you'd expect and in the order that you'd expect it, there's really nothing anyone could do. The screenplay pretty much goes from A to Z just like you'd expect it to. You know who's going to live. You know who's going to die. You know various twists that's going to happen in the story. You know pretty much everything including how a victim is going to escape the killer and reach her car only to have it not start. It's really too bad that the screenplay goes for the routine and cliché moments from start to finish because I think a rewrite could have made for a better result. Another problem is the story itself, which never really makes too much sense. The police inside this building want to protect the Swain character because she can identify the killer. However, instead of leaving the building and taking her somewhere they decide to just wait around inside the building with the killer instead of leaving and getting her to safety. The excuse given is that the cops want to call a police squad in but after the first two or three people get slaughtered it looks like they'd just leave. Another annoying thing is various scenes that just make you want to jump through the screen and punch the characters. Everyone is fighting for their lives yet it seems each one of them has time to stop what they're doing, talk about marriage, their past and their plans for the future. These moments are just so annoying that you really wonder why no one in the production stood up and asked what was going on. Performances are decent at best with Swain certainly doing the best work here. Kier is also effective in his part as that great voice does wonders. David Carradine appears in one of his many 15-minute cameos that he got after KILL BILL. Even he is featured in a rather stupid sequence where Swain in banging on the office door and screaming for her life. They have her playing terror, the music is that pure thriller mode and yet they have Carradine playing the scene for laughs. It just doesn't add up but then again not much does in this film.

A metropolitan city is in the grip of fear when rolling blackouts bring out a serial killer dubbed The Picasso Killer (Udo Kier).
The only thing that makes this film worth watching is Udo Kier, who is always a treat for horror fans. Besides that, you might enjoy the sex scene or a quick shower scene, but the story itself is completely lame.
At no point does the film explain why he is called the Picasso Killer. Now, you might say, "Well, duh, look at the artwork he creates." But we as the audience know that he is an artist. Do the police know that? If so, it is never established. He carves up his victims, but that hardly makes him unique.
Although this film was made in 2007, it did not receive a DVD release until June 2011. The reason, most likely, is because it is a bit of a stinker. They were lucky to get Image to pick it up. It is nice to see David Carradine again (since he has been dead a few years) but this role is one of his absolute worst. A deaf, forgetful old man? Really? What a waste of an iconic screen legend.
Why does it take place on Christmas Eve? This never ties in the story and I do not even recall seeing so much as a snowflake. Making this a Christmas movie makes even less sense than making "Die Hard" a Christmas movie. And why is it called "Fall Down Dead"? Did anyone fall down dead? No.
Check this out if you need a fix of Udo Kier, otherwise just run for the hills if someone tries to slip this in your DVD player.

Though I would not classify this movie as a classic thriller, I can say wow, I really liked it.
A horror movie is supposed to scare, terrify, and make your skin crawl...and Fall Down Dead delivers. Domonique Swain was awesome as she always is and I look forward to seeing more from her. And whoever Lexi DiBenedetto is playing Zoe Wallace, she certainly has the looks for the big screen, and by judging her several lines in this movie certainly has what it takes to deliver on larger roles. It will be interesting to see if she takes part in future films.
Overall a great ride and well worth my dollars for the entertainment this film delivered!!!

"You shall die, to be re-born as my art." When single mother Christie (Swain) leaves her job on Christmas Eve night she is attacked by the Picasso Killer (Kier) on her way home. After running to the nearest building and the cops show up she thinks she is safe. Soon she and everyone else realizes that no one is safe, anywhere. This movie started off really exciting and terrifying, then steadily slowed down until the end. The killer went from being really frightening to a little unbelievable. I will admit that Udo Kier kept up the creepy factor the whole time though. Much like "Silence Of The Lambs" the killer skins his kills and turns it into "Art". Some of the scenes are pretty graphic, but nothing that seems to over the top. I felt the movie had much more potential, and had a chance to be really good and creepy but never got to where it needed to. Overall not a bad movie, but could have been so much better. I give it a B-.

Yeah this movie wants to make you go to another parking garage! I'll think of this now next time i go to the one in Wheeling. I've known Udo a long time. Only within last 5 years have i seen him when he was younger but i always knew of him from other things. Always loved him. Striking pair of eyes. What a face. The music i thought was very good. Carradine was annoying, not like his usual roles. The cop that gets locked in the stairwell was kind of amusing. Sex scene wasn't bad. Deaths weren't bad either. Movie is kind of like the Collector. Women are so stupid, no wonder i hate them. The one girl just stands there and cries and let's him kill her. Anyway, main chick is annoying but when aren't they? I like the ending, but i do love Udo that's why.

A killer is after some people in a building while the power is out. That's it. Nothing much else happens. David Carradine's character is obnoxious. The other actors do their best, but everybody has to act like the killer is some invincible threat, and act really dumb. And they do their best to stretch this out to 90 minutes, but the script is very thin. Might have worked as a TV episode? But it's a pretty weak movie.

...if you Love David Carradine as an actor and think, " these reviews have to be lies, he is in it so it Has to be good.". DONT DO IT. Horrible acting, script is horrendous! In the first 20 minutes of the movie the main character had three different accents. Could only sustain watching for 25 minutes!!!!

A smart mix of Panic Room and I know What You Did Last Summer, Fall Down Dead is a gripping Hitchcock-style thriller with scares to spare.
A metropolitan city holds its breath on Christmas Eve as a series of rolling blackouts lure out an elusive killer. A man who makes art out of grizzly murder .Hunted by the police and dubbed by the press, "The Picasso Killer" (Udo Kier) he stalks the dark alleyways in search of the missing component to his greatest masterpiece: the perfect skin.
His obsession unknowingly manifests itself in the form of Christie (Dominique Swain), a single mother working the late shift at an all night dinner to earn the money to move her daughter out of the city. At shifts end their paths collide and Picasso will stop at nothing to immortalize her in his art.
Christie takes shelter in the nearby Hitchcock Building under the protection of bumbling security guard Wade (David Carradine). When the real police arrive in the form of two of duty Detectives Stefan and Lawrence (Mehmet Gunser and R. Keith Harris) things seem to be under control. But art will not be deter4ed and the world will see his skill perfected.
Now, locked in a skyscraper without any communication they must band together before one by one they are picked off. But everyone else is just a sketch. Picasso has found his masterpiece, with his blade as a brush he will make Christie immortal.

Finding herself trapped in an apartment building, a woman finds the culprit to be a dangerous psychopath that mutilates women and carves them up into works of art and considers her his next project, forcing her and the residents still inside to fight back against the deranged madman.
This was a slightly flawed but still enjoyable enough slasher that has enough going for it. One of the good points to be had from it is the rather fun and fairly intense stalking going on inside here, as the film takes full advantage of the fact that they're trapped inside a crumbling apartment complex to full advantage. The languishing scenes played out over darkened corridors, endlessly twisting and turning back on themselves to get inside potential hiding spots but usually drowned out by the various hideouts within. The pace is fast enough that there's not a lot of dragged-out spots, furthering how exciting it was by keeping things flowing along quickly enough to keep interested in what's going on as the various deaths and stalking scenes throughout here become even more exciting towards the end as the big race to get out of the building starts. The final confrontation on the roof generates a lot of excitement as well with all the action really centered around that segment which makes for a thrilling finish to this. As well, the killer is pretty unique and creative though saddled with a lame gimmick to keep it exciting since there's no sense as to why the cops would dub him this given that all the information for that is given to us rather than the police. That's still not to discount how effectively creepy he is, but there's also some problems as well that are pretty hard to overlook. The criminal lack of a body-count here is the main issue, as there's just not a large enough number of victims to get killed off here, and the fact that this one has them done in by a gunshot or rather rudimentary stabbing off-screen highlights the thriller nature this was intended to be. The rudimentary storyline also has a few lame problems with it as the general sense pervading this one tends to be all made up on the spot with little room to actually maneuver around it's turns effectively since they're mostly seen coming from a mile away. Overall, this one wasn't as bad as it could've been.
Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, Full Nudity and a sex scene.
