nice episode

Truly inspiring episode, Chuck Connors at his best in the series which reunites the two rifleman stars. Look for the line Jason Mc cord (Connors) gives the young deputy (Crawford) in the beginning about courage, the outlaws are played a little campish but effective,a small town is terrorized by a group of outlaws which plan to rob the town , while collecting the town's arsenal Mc cord separates and plans to bring them in with some help from the overwhelmed deputy,look for ex major league baseball player Ron Perranowski as one of the gang.This episode is lightweight but enjoyable .This series is a nice change from most westerns of the era.

Johnny and Chuck together again!

Probably my favorite Branded episode! I really enjoyed seeing these two Rifleman co-stars together again. In the scenes they did together, they still had the same magic, the same mannerisms, and the same tone. I thought it was really cool how it was about Jason teaching the deputy one of life's lessons, just like Lucas did for Mark. I also loved the way Chuck, at the end said "Well, Goodbye, and good luck." It almost sounded so...final...It made me cry!

Okay, enough on that! Skip Homer and Johnny also played in a Rifleman episode together. Their scenes were very similar. Skip's character was threatening Johnny's character in a very authoritative, threatening way. I thought it was excellent!

I do wonder where the line from the poem came from.

Johnny Crawford (Deputy Sheriff Clay Holden), starred with Chuck Connors as his TV son on series El hombre del rifle (1958). Both were lifelong friends until Connors' death.

About halfway through the show Topaz comes out holding Karin at gunpoint, forcing everyone to drop their guns. The problem is, Topaz is pointing the gun away from Karin the whole time. Anyone could have quickly shot him.
