The Tomb of Terrors delivers a bit of an oddity with So Mort It Be. A ultra low budget comedy horror from black star/producer/writer/director/etc. Fabian Rush. He comes off as a nerdy black who would be mercilessly harassed by his own kind for his "proclivities" so he safely surrounds himself with a cast of palefaces in his feature film debut. He lusts after a hot goth redhead in this so he likes them extra pale. While this isn't very good at horror or comedy it at least is better than most of the swill on the Tomb of Terrors set so far. The 100 minutes runtime is really pushing it though. It starts with a hilariously bad dream sequence of our two heroes being killed by hot blonde chicks in bondage masks in front of a really bad CGI forest backdrop. Unfortunately the rest of the film doesn't really live up to this delirious opening sequence. It does come close with a host of plastic rats eating "chemical x" in the basement where the main characters are having a party. There's already a hot girl obsessed with snuff and murder stalking the party but the rats have now mutated into cute, furry rat/worm puppets and are tormenting the guests. When they attack the two heroes their large teeth don't even leave a scratch but are able to gorily eviscerate party guests with them. Gore is sparse and the humor is mostly lame but it does get points for being goofy, mostly-light hearted and kind of fun but it desperately needed to be shorter. It's certainly much better than a double feature of Season in Hell and Nightmare Museum. Multi-talented Fabian Rush would go onto a small career after this also working on fun cheapies like Dark Harvest and The Feeding.
