Senketsu no kizuna: Kichiku reipuhan o shinkan saseta shimai

This isn't a "cheapie" because it was shot on video -- let's get that straight. Video can look very effective, professional and slick. This is a cheapie because it's badly lit and not well directed.

Director Daisuke Yamanouchi, who has been specializing in productions containing sexual violence, is asleep at the wheel here. There's no quality control. There's no unifying style to the shooting.

Take a great film like CAPTURED FOR SEX 2. Centred on a similar theme, it is impeccably photographed, well acted, equally mean-spirited and skilfully directed. This isn't.

Rapists kidnap various girls and abuse them in a van, an old, abandoned shack and on a beach. There's no theme. It's just a rambling collection of rape scenes directed with no momentum, spark or energy. It's as if the director was bored.

Rape IS an interesting and cinematic ally rich subject for horror, but these filmmakers drop the ball. They bring no style to the proceedings (ala the "Angel Guts" films) and the victims are not fleshed out (ala Hasebe's RAPE or Ohara's WHITE ROSE CAMPUS).

Still, Yamanouchi should be applauded for trying.

There are very few post-Nikkatsu collapse ('89+) rape films worth a dime.

RAPEMAN, of course, is a decent series, but it's a different kettle of fish and a lot more character-driven.

SENKETSU NO KIZUNA is a nod to I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, a lot of the scenes and situations are similar to the classic. Many of the same types of elements, but SENKETSU takes it to the limit (or past the limit, depending on your tastes). It is far more violent and gory, and the sexual violence is far stronger. I didn't get everything that was going on as my copy has no engish subtitle or dub. But honestly, the film is pretty straight forward and you don't need a lot of explanation to figure out what's going on. Basically, two women are brutally raped - and they want their justice. Again, definitely heavy on the gore and overall sickness, so this film is ABSOLUTELY not for everyone. If you like the "extreme" stuff - it's worth a look. Not as strong an entry as MU ZAN E, another of the directors films. Take a look, if you dare...7/10

A straight on video rape/revenge flick loosely based on I Spit On Your Grave (1978). Here we have two girls being picked up by a van but things go wrong, they are raped and humiliated a few times by the gang. It's more gruesome then I Spit On Your Grave because the rape takes almost 30 minutes into this flick. It surely isn't a roughie like in the seventies because you don't see intercourses or genitals but still it isn't for the weak ones because they rape until blood runs out of their pussies. They even put some stones in one of the girls to rape her again until she bleeds and to finish she gets some intestines over her naked body, so I guess you got the picture. Still, it's watchable even as it gets ugly a few times but it surely isn't extreme like Mu Zan E. I should say it's between Mu Zan E and the Reipuman franchise or All Night Long franchise.

The only problem is that it is hard to get this film. Sure, it's out on the not-official ways but like so many extreme gore flicks it is only available in Japanese language without English subs. Luckily they don't say too much and you will get the picture soon.

Once the revenge is starting it's all done in typical Japanese style. Even as it is a cult classic it isn't to be compared with the other ultra rare flick Women's Flesh:My Red Guts for example.

"Senketsu no Kizuna" is a sickening Japanese rape and revenge shocker loaded with scenes of gore,sexual violence and humiliation.Plot-wise it is seemingly very simple and is definitely meant as a loose remake of Meir Zarchi's "I Spit on Your Grave".There is the gang of four rapists,the retarded member of the group and the repeated rapes and humiliation.Even the scene with the stone-rape to get the retarded guy to make his move seems a variant on the bottle-rape scene in Zarchi's film.Yet the addition of another victim is a new touch and the ways in which they take their revenge are changed.Saying that,the film is a lot more vile and sickening than infamous 1978 video nasty.Having seen most of Daisuke Yamanouchi's pinku eiga films I can safely say that "Senketsu no Kizuna" is much better than "Kyoko vs Yuki",but not as memorable as "Red Room" series or "Mu Zan E".My generous rating:7 out of 10.
