I do not think any Malayali born before 2010 has not watched CID Moosa atleast thrice. It is not so much about the cinematic prowess or emotinal story line which made this film such a classic. It is all about the timeless slapstick comedic moments,music and hilarious performances by the actors which has etched this piece into the hearts of malayalis and give it its endless rewatch value.

It is impossible to find a malayalam movie which makes you laugh more than CID MOOSA. Even after 17 years of the film's release it still has a huge fan following among the audience in kerala . Considered to be one of the best comedy movies made in malayalam. Definately a multi-multiple time watcher. The freshness of the movie still remains and will remain for years. Will make you watch it again and again.

The basic plot of the movie is quite simple . Dilip(Sahadevan)is an unemployed youth who's ambition is to be police officer.His dreams ,however,are shattered when he is declared unfit for the force by his brother in law(jagathi)and Ashish vidhyarthi.Hence he decides to take sweet revenge by setting up his own private investigation firm .By sheer good luck he manages to crack some sensational cases and becomes a favourite in the squad. Add to this a few songs,some funny moments , a few James-Bondish gimmicks and that irrepressible Salim Kumar and voilà you have CIDMoosa. Riding on the huge success of Meesamadhavan , this venture by Johny Antony and Dilip has become a big hit as well .

This film was box office in theaters at that time. There is a huge fan base for this film today. The production quality of this film is outstanding. Supporting actors, Vidyaji's music,Moosa's dog, car, etc. Give life to this film.

This film's comedies are hilarious. Moosa is like Jhonny English; he solves his cases due to his luck. Jagathy, Salim Kumar, Harisree Asokan, Kochin Haneefa, etc. Are the best supporting characters in this film. This film had great repeat value until today. Every 90's kid gets goosebumps when it comes to television. This film completed shooting just before its release.

If you want to have some laughter throughout, this is the movie to watch. Veteran actor Jakathi Sreekumar is outstanding as ever in this comedy flick. Harisree Ashokan and Late Cochin Haneefa also did a wonderful job. Kudos to the Writers. I wonder how can someone write this level of humour. This Cinema is an ART !

I don't know why this is not included in the best Malayalam movie. This movie is a master piece item that should definitely be in the top 5 of the top 10 Malayalam movies I have ever seen. The misunderstanding that a good movie deals with serious issues may be the reason why such movies have incomprehensible ratings,Here lies the difference between enlightenment and pretending to be enlightened. This movie can even be considered as a model of how a comedy movie should be. Such efforts of actor Dileep played a big role in making my childhood so enjoyable. Here this movie doesn't have the rating it deserves, but this movie always has the highest repeat value in the mind of the audience.

It's a nostalgic film for all malayalees. You can truly enjoy from the start to end without feeling any lag. If you feel sad just watch this movie and you will forget all of those. You can watch it with family. It is a full time comedy movie with some romance. The songs are really awesome The movie is a part of every keralite. It is one of the best films and the one of the most watched malayalam movie. You can't just watch one time you will get addicted to it and each of us have watched it for minimum 150+ times.

Movie is an attempt at slapstick comedy, while some of the scenes are really funny, especially because the supporting characters were really good and are veteran actors, Dileep, who plays the protagonist CID Moosa, although does the comedy scenes well his overall acting was way below average as usual. The best performance was by Arjun, a German shepherd dog and Moosa's sidekick. I'm rating it 5 only for the excellent performance by Arjun and some decent comedy scenes otherwise Dileep's acting makes me cringe and almost never watch his movies.

Moolankuzhiyil Sahadevan had an ambition to join the police force, but did not succeed because his brother-in-law Peethambaram, a sub-inspector, conspired against Sahadevan and failed him in the physical fitness test. So Sahadevan and his friendstook over and managed his uncle's private detective agency. To fulfill his father's duties, and assisted by Arjun, the police dog, Moolankuzhiyil Sahadevan became CID Moosa, a one-man plus one-dog team to find and nab the person who assassinated the Chief Minister. During his investigations, he came into contact with Pooja Bedi (Bhavana), a native of Mumbai, and this gives scope for flashy dresses, duets, and dances. How he finds the criminals forms the rest of the story. The saving grace of the film is its comedy, in which Dileep is very ably assisted by Harisree Ashokan, playing the role of a super-thief Thorappan, Kochin Haneefa as a policeman and Salim Kumar as a mad character. This is a team to watch out for!
