‘Adolescence’ Stars Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty on Overnight Fame, ‘Spider-Man’ Rumors and Getting Accolades From Adele and Steven Spielberg
Image
Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty were shooting the third episode of Netflix’s drama “Adolescence” the same day tickets for Oasis’ reunion tour went on sale in late August 2024.

Cooper, who saw Liam Gallagher perform a solo gig earlier in the year, had diligently set an alarm on his phone that read “8 a.m. Oasis Tickets” and that morning, before filming started, joined the online scrum. Like many — many — thousands of others, he missed out. “I got to the end of the queue and was kicked off,” the 15-year- old recalls.

Almost exactly a year later, the Oasis tour has become the must-attend event of the summer, packing out stadiums across the U.K. and soon the U.S. and Asia. Meanwhile, “Adolescence” is now considered a phenomenon, smashing records for Netflix (145 million views in the first half of 2025) and becoming a cultural and political talking point around the world.

Arcane Soundtrack: Every Song From the Netflix Action Animation
Image
Arcane: League of Legends is the Netflix animated action phenomenon created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, produced by Riot Games, and featuring lush visuals from Fortiche Production. But as vital as its animation, Arcane’s soundtrack serves as a narrative engine, bringing together original songs, licensed tracks, and evocative scoring to express character arcs, emotional crescendos, and its epic world-building.

Across the two seasons of the series, several blockbuster artists have been featured, ranging from Imagine Dragons and Sting to Woodkid, Stromae, and the hit K-pop group Stray Kids. Each song or soundtrack featured in the series, whether original or licensed, was meticulously picked by the team, as Arcane creator and executive producer Linke shared with One Esports.

We’ll always start with a certain scene or character moment in the story that we would find something for. Big names were never necessary. There’s a lot of big...

Netflix Announces New Korean Movie 'Possible Love' from Acclaimed Director Lee Chang-dong
Image
Netflix has announced one of its next Korean movies, and it will see a major director return after several years. Ever since Squid Game drove up interest in Korean-language content back in 2021, the streamer has been leaning in to projects from the country. Earlier this year, they announced plans for 29 such projects to come out in 2025.

So far, this has taken the form of Netflix K-dramas such as Weak Hero Class 2, When Life Gives You Tangerines, and Squid Game season 3. More recently, Netflix also released the film Wall to Wall. While it got mixed reviews, the movie has become one of Netflix's most popular non-English titles.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has now announced another major Korean-language project. This will be a movie called Possible Love, set to be directed by Lee Chang-dong. The story will follow “the intertwined lives of two married couples leading completely opposite lives. As their worlds collide,...

What Is Lee Chang-Dong’s New Film About? Inside His 8-Year Return With Possible Love
Image
After an 8-year-long hiatus, Lee Chang-dong is all set to make a comeback with Possible Love. The movie is said to be a Korean French production backed by Netflix. It also features a stellar ensemble with the likes of Jeon Do-yeong, Seol Kyung-gu, Jo In-Sung, and Cho Yeon-jeong (as per Variety). These are some of the most famous faces of Korean cinema, all set to present their acting chops in Possible Love.

If we talk about the plot, while major details are tightly under wraps, what we do know is that it will follow two very different married couples whose lives collide unexpectedly. This then leads to emotional conflicts and personal revelations. This movie would also mark Lee Chang-dong’s first-ever Netflix debut. With this, he will join the slew of Korean hits already dominating the platform.

Korean Auteur Lee Chang-dong to Direct Feature Drama ‘Possible Love’ for Netflix
Image
It’s an improbable pairing yet nonetheless exciting news for film buffs: Korean auteur Lee Chang-dong is returning to filmmaking to direct a feature project backed by Netflix. Titled Possible Love, the drama is Lee’s first movie in eight years since his critically acclaimed Haruki Murakami adaptation, Burning.

The new film reunites Lee with the stars of his most critically revered earlier work. Possible Love‘s story is said to follow “the intertwined lives of two married couples leading completely opposite lives. As their worlds collide, fractures begin to appear in their daily existence.”

Korean screen royalty Jeon Do-yeon and Sul Kyung-gu will play the lead couple, Mi-ok and Ho-seok. Jeon previously won the Cannes Film Festival’s best actress honor for her performance as the indelible lead of Lee’s searing 2007 drama Secret Sunshine, and Sul was unforgettable in the lead roles of the director’s early masterpieces...

Noel Gallagher
Oasis founder Noel Gallagher gave Ewan McGregor his first lightsaber lesson
Noel Gallagher
I said maybe, you’re gonna be the ones who sabes me…Ewan McGregor is undoubtedly one of the best to ever wield a lightsaber in the Star Wars galaxy, much of which came from extensive pre-production training. But there also might have been a secret Jedi lending a hand: Oasis’ own Noel Gallagher.

An admittedly huge fan of Star Wars, Gallagher once told StarWars.com that he was partly responsible for giving Ewan McGregor lightsaber lessons. “So there was a party round at my house in the ‘90s and Ewan came, and he’d just got the part for Star Wars, and I was like, ‘No way!’ I happened to have two lightsabers in the house, so I said, ‘Right then, in the back garden and show us your skills.’” Gallagher would maintain that McGregor got “schooled”, thus forcing us to imagine a world where one of the dudes...

Reputation review – front and swagger in brawling portrait of British male rage
Gallagher
A drug dealer begins to question his life choices but his bullying partner-in-crime refuses to let him go

Squint and you can picture the two leads of this film playing the Gallagher brothers circa the big Oasis bust-up of 2009 – all front and swagger, eyebrows set into aggrieved furrows. Instead, in this small-time British crime drama, James Nelson-Joyce and Kyle Rowe play old mates dealing drugs in the fictional northern town where they grew up. It’s a brawling tale about a man who feels trapped by toxic masculinity, though in the end the film too backs itself into a bit of a dead end of macho violence.

Nelson-Joyce is Wes, who has been questioning his life and choices since his best mate Tommy (Rowe) went to prison. Wes and his girlfriend Zoe (Olivia Frances Brown) have just had a baby, and there’s even talk of a job. Then Tommy is released,...

The Canceled Prime Video Series That Could Have Become A Sci-Fi Classic
Image
Stories set in space are a dime a dozen. Some space sagas dwell on unknowable mysteries (which are best left unexplored), while others take a more personal approach, presenting the discomfiting opportunity to look deeper within. Many of these stories also emphasize human perseverance, underlining our collective triumph over what's out there.

But Stanisław Lem's sci-fi novel "Solaris" (which spawned both a George Clooney-led Hollywood adaptation and an Andrei Tarkovsky classic) doesn't have much hope for humanity. It explores the futility of communicating with extraterrestrial life and how utterly misguided such an endeavor would be. In "Solaris," rationality and science can only get you so far, as some truths are not meant to be comprehended by the human mind. So, when scientists arrive at the Solaris Station to continue investigating the titular sentient planet, they are faced with a psychological mirror that nearly breaks their fragile sense of self.

The Better Sister Review: Jessica Biel & Elizabeth Banks mix sibling rivalry with murder in an engaging yet distracting whodunit
Image
Plot: Chloe (Jessica Biel) navigates life with husband Adam (Corey Stoll) and son Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan) while her sister Nicky (Elizabeth Banks) battles addiction. Adam’s murder unveils long-hidden family secrets, shaking their world.

Review: Sibling rivalry is a concept as old as time. In extreme cases, duos like Cain and Abel, the Boleyn sisters, and Liam and Noah Gallagher of Oasis come to mind. People say blood runs thicker than water, but it’s difficult to see the forest for the trees when the floodgates burst. In rare cases, a heartfelt chat over a glass of wine or beer can resolve most issues. However, when a decades-long rift is made deeper by murder, there isn’t enough Cabernet Sauvignon or IPAs to repair the widening damage.

In The Better Sister, created by Olivia Milch and Regina Corrado, based on the novel by Alafair Burke, Chloe (Jessica Biel) and...

The Movie Steven Spielberg Said Was His Most Difficult To Make Since 'Saving Private Ryan' Finds Success on Streaming 7 Years Later
Image
Featuring the talent of Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Andor’s Ben Mendelsohn, and British favorite Simon Pegg, who recently wrapped up the final installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Steven Spielberg’s dystopian sci-fi adventure Ready Player One is a movie many might've forgotten. However, despite falling to the back of some minds since its release seven years ago, it seems the Zak Penn-written cyberpunk thriller has found a streaming renaissance over recent weeks, officially finishing at #9 in the Max Top 10 as of May 26, 2025.

Boasting a "certified fresh" 71% from critics and an even stronger 77% from audiences on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Ready Player One was a hit with critics and viewers alike upon release, soldiifed by its CinemaScore of A-, matching previous Spielberg-led movies such as Catch Me if You Can and War Horse. In Collider's official review of the film back when it opened, Matt Goldberg wrote,...

A Cancelled Marvel Movie Could Have Starred Robert Downey Jr. Before Iron Man
Image
It's easy to forget that Jon Favreau's "Iron Man" was considered something of a risk when it was released in 2008. Marvel hadn't yet been purchased by Disney at that point, while the onslaught of the eventual Marvel Cinematic Universe was but a glint in Favreau's eye. When he included a cameo appearance from Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, delivering lines about the Avengers Initiative, Favreau meant for it to serve as nothing more than a wink to fans. It wasn't until the following year that Disney purchased Marvel and put plans for the Avengers into proper motion.

Robert Downey Jr. starred as Tony Stark/Iron Man, and the film proved to be a boon for his career. The actor has spoken very openly about how the years 1996 to 2001 were a time of intense substance abuse for him, culminating in him finally going to rehab in November 2001 after eating...

Attention, MTV Generation, your ship has come in! Paramount+ is opening the floodgates to bring classic episodes of MTV Unplugged, VH1 Storytellers, and CMT Crossroads to the streaming platform. Paramount+ Releases 100s of Iconic 'MTV Unplugged' Performances
Image
Paramount+ is ready to rock — and they've released over 125 episodes of musical performances to its streaming service to prove it. Coming at you from the other Viacom-owned properties like MTV Unplugged, VH1 Storytellers, and CMT Crossroads, many of the episodes haven't been seen since they first aired. And with a list of performances that includes the likes of Elton John, Neil Young, Mariah Carey, Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, and even Nirvana's now-iconic November 1993 performance — which aired a mere seven months before the singer Kurt Cobain died — the list is a treasure trove for any music fan.

According to a press release from the streamer, more than 70 of the episodes have not been available to the public for more than 20 years. And, considering how much purging of content Paramount Global has done over the years, it's a relief to see that some things still get saved in the digital age.

Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2 Homaged An Akira Kurosawa Classic
Image
"Seven Samurai" by master Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa might just be the most remade film ever. The 1954 film is, sure enough, about seven samurai recruited to protect a farming village from bandits. The setting, themes, and characters are Japanese, but the premise is evergreen. "The Magnificent Seven" is just "Seven Samurai" but with cowboys. "A Bug's Life" retold the story with, well, bugs. "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" episode "Bounty Hunters" recruits the seven from Jedi Knights and alien mercenaries.

"Star Wars" creator George Lucas is a well-known fan of Kurosawa. (Lucas even helped him finance his 1980 epic "Kagemusha.") The galaxy far, far away isn't the only space franchise that can riff on "Seven Samurai" though. "Star Trek: Enterprise" aped the premise for its season 2 episode, "Marauders."

First, though, why are Kurosawa's films so often remade in spirit (besides them being so good)? One reason is ease of translation. Kurosawa...

‘Better Man’ Teaser: British Pop Star Robbie Williams Is Played by a Monkey in Musical Biopic
Image
How do you top “The Greatest Showman”? Well, for writer/director Michael Gracey, that meant turning to the apes…literally.

Gracey directs the musical biopic “Better Man” based on British pop star Robbie Williams. The only catch? Williams is portrayed by a computer-generated monkey. The Paramount film is billed as being an “extraordinary visual spectacle” that embraces Gracey’s “expansive vision.” Gracey enlisted Weta FX and Jonno Davies in motion-capture suit to bring Williams as a monkey to life.

Jonno Davies voices the monkey as Williams. Steve Pemberton and Raechelle Banno also appear in the feature.

Gracey co-wrote the film with Oliver Cole and Simon Gleeson. “Better Man” debuted at the 2024 Telluride Film Festival, where IndieWire critic David Ehrlich wrote in the review that having Williams portrayed by a computer-generated monkey makes “Better Man” a better film.

“You will see a monkey bleach its hair. You will see a monkey party with Oasis.

New to Streaming: Trap, Lee Chang-dong, Kinds of Kindness, Napoleon: Director’s Cut & More
Image
Each week we highlight the noteworthy titles that have recently hit streaming platforms in the United States. Check out this week’s selections below and past round-ups here.

Crossing (Levan Akin)

There’s no description of Levan Akin’s Crossing that won’t make it sound like the kind of feel-good dramedy which would have taken Sundance by storm in 2006. It has all the key ingredients: an inter-generational friendship forged between a curmudgeonly retired teacher and a young burnout desperate to escape his hometown; an epic road trip where they come to understand each other more; and the older of the two confronting her internal bigotry as they search for her transgender niece. Above all, any description makes this sound like the worst kind of LGBTQ story, which we finally seem to have moved past as a culture––the story of queer people aimed firmly at a straight audience. It...

Liam Gallagher Threatened to Stab Sacha Baron Cohen for Not Making Fun of Him
Image
The biggest story in the world of entertainment this week was the news that Oasis is back. Yes, brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher have patched up their differences — and by “patched up their differences,” I mean that they have agreed to occupy the same space while holding guitars in order to rake in hundreds of millions of pounds.

Of course, the Gallaghers have a reputation for being about as emotionally stable as their watermelon-smashing namesake was. And they don’t just feud with each other. Liam Gallagher once beefed with Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen, who presumably isn’t used to being threatened when he’s not dressed in a goofy costume.

As Cohen revealed during a 2016 appearance on Conan, he met the famous rocker while accepting an award from GQ four years earlier. For some reason, Cohen decided to make a joke about Liam Gallagher during the speech, knowing...

2 Amazing Steven Spielberg Sci-Fi Films Are Coming to Hulu Next Month
Image
Hulu is about to get two amazing science fiction movies from Steven Spielberg's filmography. Super 8, which Spielberg produced, and Ready Player One, which he directed, will both arrive on the streamer in September.

Super 8 will begin streaming on Hulu on September 1, while Ready Player One doesn't land on the platform until September 3. The former, written and directed by J. J. Abrams, was originally released in theaters in 2011, where it earned positive reviews from critics and was a box office success. Set in 1979, the movie revolves around a group of teenagers filming their own Super 8 movie when a train derails, unleashing a dangerous presence onto their town. The latter, an adaptation of Ernest Cline's novel of the same name, was released in 2018 to mostly positive reviews. The movie, which follows a teenage orphan as he looks for clues to gain ownership of the virtual reality simulation the Oasis,...

These special bodies of water can be found in the game's new Wasteland biome, and players can take a refreshing dip to regenerate health and shields. The Wasteland biome contains many of the best landing spots in Fortnite, with several major Points of Interest and tough boss enemies that create great opportunities to obtain high-quality gear. As such, many players make it a priority to land in the Wasteland, and it can often be dangerous. Mad Max Movies Ranked: The Entire Saga From Worst to Best!
Image
George Miller’s epic Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is now playing in theatres. It’s the latest entry into the definitive post-apocalyptic saga of our time and a series that minted Mel Gibson as a global superstar, transformed Charlize Theron into an action heroine, and seems poised to do the same for Anya Taylor-Joy. In my opinion, there’s never been a bad Mad Max film, as they’re all quite different in tone and technique, although we all have our favorite. So, here’s our JoBlo list of Mad Max movies ranked from worst to best!

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985):

The only PG-13 entry in the saga, this movie has scenes that seem shocking for how cheesy they are in the context of the series. The two movies that came before this pushed the boundaries of their R-ratings, so I’m not sure what kind of...

How Many Books Can You Store On An 8Gb Kindle?
Image
The Amazon Kindle comes with much less storage than a smartphone, but how many books can be stored on the models with 8Gb of storage? Amazon has various Kindles catered to different budgets and use cases. There's the entry-level Kindle, the mid-range Paperwhite and Paperwhite Signature Edition, and the premium Oasis and Scribe. Depending on the model, Kindles are available in 8Gb, 16Gb, 32Gb, and 64Gb capacities, and some buyers may be wondering if they can save a few bucks and get by with the smallest-capacity model.

According to Amazon, an 8Gb Kindle can store "thousands" of books or over 35 Audible audiobooks, while the 32Gb version can store more than four times as much content, including over 160 audiobooks. The exact number depends on the size of each e-book and the amount of free space in the Kindle. An 8Gb Kindle typically has around 6.8Gb of free storage space after accounting...

There are not enough words in either the English or Spanish language to express the magic that is Bad Bunny's latest album "Un Verano Sin Ti." We all had high expectations for the highly-anticipated fourth solo album, which was released on Friday, May 6, and was accompanied by the music video for one of the album's tracks titled "Moscow Mule." But while we may have already been expecting the best, Benito has a way of still blowing our minds with his creative genius. If you haven't listened to the album, be prepared to have it on loop for days - I know I will.

One of the things that sets Bad Bunny apart from some of the other reggaeton artists of today is his ability to experiment with other genres and sounds. His two albums "X 100 Pre" and "Oasis" spoke to his signature Latin Trap style.
