Perhaps the worst French movie I ever seen in my life.

'Les oreilles sur le dos' has a script who was probably written by a feeble-minded 7 years old boy. The far-fetched story about a bunch of art thieves fugitives crossing the desert and Venezuelan jungle is really bad. Only beautiful Beatrice Dalle, the same of Betty Blue 37° (1986) tried to do a good performance. I can't understand how a supposedly intelligent crew of Europeans movie makers went to Guyana and Venezuela to waste their time, money and talent.

Worth watching

It is very difficult for anyone to describe this item inspired from George Arnaud, the author of LE SALAIRE DE LA PEUR, another French adventure yarn taking place in Latin America. It is rather rough, tough, gritty, with a good character study, as in the George Clouzot's masterpiece, but of course at a lesser scale. There is also something of Joseph Conrad's atmosphere and an APOCALYPSE NOW small tribute in some sequences. Good performance from Gerald Laroche - who often works with Xavier Durringer - and Eric Savin, and also some other actors also used to work with the director. Good underrated job made for TV. Could have made it for the big screen I guess. There were a couple of French adventure modern features in the recent past, such as GUYANE series or 600 KILOS D'OR PUR.
