"Familie Backeljau" is a comedy series about a family, existing of five people: a loud father, an extravagant mother, two very dumb children, a boy and a girl, and a crazy grandmother.

The jokes are all extremely stupid and the acting is very bad, but the show was quite popular in Flanders. At the end of 2001, they started rerunning this show. It now has a small, but strong fanbase, and "Familie Backeljau" has become a cult show.

Watch it, it's hilarious!

It's The father: Cois, the mother: Maria, the sister: Sabrina, the brother: Franky, the grandmother, Franky's (now ex) girlfriend: Jaenine, Sabrina's (ex) boyfriend: Antonia (Who kinda is in the mob, should watch to know) and last but not least: The dog: Blacky And the very regular guy: Marcel (who is nerd nr 1)

Probably the only Belgian sitcom I actually love. It revolves around a dysfunctional family that spends its time yelling and throwing objects at each other or more often, at the annoying neighbor. When they're not doing that (which is like a minute an episode), they get themselves into truly hilarious situations.

Free sample:In one episode, the son tries to start a shopping network. To order the products, you have to call the number next to the flag of your country. Followed by a shot of twelve Belgian flags. Amazingly lame, but they just make it work somehow. I think this is the only Belgian show that has a live audience not supervised by the army.

Short story shorter: the show rocked.

Probably the dumbest Belgian sitcom, but probably the best ever made! It had over 3 million viewers per week! During the show, we follow a very crazy family living in Antwerp. Father Cois is an aggressive man that always beats up his son. His wife Maria seems to be a pretty normal woman, yet she is the hard hand that keeps her family together. Their children are Franky and Sabrina. Franky is a lazy macho that has no job and loves to make his father go crazy. Daughter Sabrina is a corrupt police officer, yet she doesn't realize it. She is a dumb blond girl...10 times worse. And there is also the grandmother Thérése: a 69 woman that has the strangest hobbies, such as skydiving, skateboarding, base jumping. She ofter gets into jail. But the most memorable character in the show must be the silly neighbor: Marcel De Neudt! The most hilarious sitcom in Belgium ever!
