4.8 Stop Hitting Yourself
Never in my life would I think there would be a TV series where two members of the old school Legion of Doom would be featured in an underground fight club. But listen, Gotham is one of the most disjointed and chaotic shows on TV and its utter disregard for structure makes the series so much damn fun.
I mean, when the show tries to find a consistent direction like the Ra’s Al Ghul nonsense or the Azrael dreck from a few seasons back, Gotham becomes paint by numbers and predictable. But this season, when the series throws copious amounts of guano against the wall to see what sticks, the...

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. Leonardo DiCaprio is no stranger to the Academy Awards. In fact, the 41-year-old actor has received a total of five nominations for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor by the Academy over the years. But he has yet to take an Oscar home. All might change this year: Up for grabs is the Best Actor award for his role in The Revenant. Will 2016 be this actor's lucky year?
Acting since the age of 5 (his first appearances include the TV shows Romper Room and Growing Pains), Leonardo DiCaprio has ranked up quite a career, acting in the second highest grossing film of all time (Titanic), which incidentally won a record-tying eleven awards that year, but none in the Actor categories.
Shortly after making his big screen debut in 1991 in the direct-to-film sci-fi horror Critters 3, Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated Best Supporting Actor for his role in 1993's What's Eating Gilbert Grape,...

In his weekly New Rule editorial, HBO’s Real Time host Bill Maher exhumed the old Romper Room "Do Bee/Don't Bee" motif, to illustrate why May 1 should be declared National Do This Not That Day, and the difference between presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Romper Room, he explained to millennials, is the TV show that people used to use to bore pre-schoolers into taking a nap in the days before Ritalin. Doo Bee, he explained, was always doing everything right…...

If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.
"Scandal" star Kerry Washington and Jimmy Fallon tried to trick each other in a fun game called "Box of Lies." Weirdly enough, the line "In my box ... is a pumpkin with spaghetti in it..." was actually true! Also, it turns out Kerry is a big "Game of Thrones" fan. She started watching because her parents like it. She was planning to just make fun of them, but now she's a true GoT fan, and she even cooked her mom a GoT-themed dinner. Then some guy in the audience booed Jimmy because he's not caught up on the show.
At the end of the second video, Kerry shared a teaser...

June 2014. So what does the month of June usually remind one of during this time of year? Well, besides Father’s Day and possible scheduled weddings this sixth month in the calendar year marks the celebrated occasion for the ending of the school semester. Whether students are simply looking forward to their summer vacation or managed to complete a milestone in graduating from said grammar school, middle school, high school or college the month of June is closely identified with the school season coming to a close (unless one can escape the doldrums of a summer school session).
So to mark this auspicious occasion we should take a look at some random films with an educational theme. Hence, “Too Cool for School: Top 10 Random Films Making the Grade” will briefly examine a selection of higher education ditties that taught us something (or perhaps nothing) during our heyday of cramming for tests.

It’s hard to catch a big break, and some stars get theirs performing for little ones. Everyone knows now that Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera all got their start on The Mickey Mouse Club, but did you know there are more children’s shows that spawned Disney stars than just ye olde Mmc? Long before they were Disney starlets, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato were adorable tykes on Barney & Friends? Or that Ben Affleck‘s first claim to fame wasn’t being an actor or a director; he was a passenger on The Voyage of the Mimi.
Sesame Street might be everyone’s first foray into television viewing, but for esteemed adult actors like Alan Arkin and Raul Julia, it was their first television paycheck! Jennifer Love Hewitt and Fergie once danced together on Kids Incorporated and Leonardo DiCaprio was reportedly fired from his first job on Romper Room.

It’s good to know that after 10 seasons of Project Runway, Michael Kors’ patented brand of bitchery remains completely undiluted, that Nina Garcia’s disdain continues to burn as hot as an electric kettle, and that there’s still plenty of suspense to be wrung from watching a bunch of eccentric strangers sitting behind sewing machines.
The only major change I spotted in the Season 10 premiere, in fact, was Tim Gunn’s subdued unveiling of the Lord & Taylor Accessory Wall. (Piperlime, we hardly knew ye!) Well, also, there was the kicky flash-forward start of the episode that placed us directly...

Lidsville -Sid Krofft talked to me over the phone. That’s almost as wild and weird as the shows he created with his brother Marty that dominated the ’70s. Their live action Saturday morning series mixed puppets and people went perfect with the sugar rush from a fresh bowl of Count Chocula. This was like a weird childhood dream as I had so many questions that had puzzled me since childhood. Krofft was eager to give answers.
He was excited about Vivendi Entertainment’s recent release of H.R. Pufnstuf: The Complete Series Collector’s Edition. There’s also a normal H.R. Pufnstuf: The Complete Series. What’s the difference? A cool bobblehead of H.R. Pufnstuf. I’ve had little contact with the bobblehead since my two year-old has turned it into her new best friend. I told Sid Krofft how another generation has embraced the lizard hero of my youth.
