Karthik is a middle class chap who moves into Suihasini's house for rent in Chennai. She wears crisp cotton saris to show her strict upbringing . I have always liked her thick curly mane .
Vadivukarasi is her tenant with a sad story of her own . She keeps cautioning Suhasini about love marriages gone wrong in haste . The maid Kamala Kamesh's daughter Usharani and Suhasini are close friends being of the same age .
Karthik starts liking Suhasini from day one but she is restrained thanx to Vadivukarasi's lectures .
Some misunderstandings leads UshaRani to think that Karthik is interested in her . Meanwhile Goundarmani Suhasini's father is impressed with Karthik and his helpful nature. He goes to his parents to speak for his marriage with Suhasini. Though Suhasini likes Karthik she does not not show it and tells him to keep away saying she will marry the boy of her parent's choice .
Once when Karthik openly tells her about his feelings she thwarts him .Spurned, Karthik vows never to trouble her again . n the end Suhasini realises that Karthik's parents are very happy with her proposal and she is about to get married to him , when she rushes to tell him this good news, she sees that he is married to UshaRani. Though its sad the ending has a lesson in its own .

Kamala Kamesh started working in old senior roles at an early age thanx to her body structure . Both Karthik and suhasini are the back bone of this family movie . Both rose to dizzy heights in their career . A total family movie with nice songs .
