    The best wrestling simulator game.

Before I begin just because I named this game the best wrestling simulator game doesn't mean that it's the best wrestling game. There are two types of wrestling games. Wrestling simulator (WWF Attitude, WWF No Mercy ect.) and the recently developed Arcade Wrestling (WWF Smackdown, WWF Royal Rumble). The clear difference between the two is that Wresling simulators are more in-depth and harder to master.

Now for the review of the game. People who have followed THQ's wrestling game from the start will know that this game is based on the old engine that was used for the WCW games a few years ago, so there's is nothing new about it besides a few tweaks. So if you are a master of those old WCW games then you'll easier pick up on the gameplay of WWF No Mercy. It includes over 60 wrestlers and the basics of game modes such as single, tag, cage, handicap, royal rumble and king of the ring. However included in this game are two gimmick matches, Ladder Match and Special Guest Referee match. Both of which have been borrowed from the WWF Smackdown series.

The graphics of this game are quite good for a Nintendo 64 game however it isn't the best graphics you have ever seen, this also goes for the sounds in the game. Gameplay wise it can be quite fun however it does get fustrating at times when the opponent reverses all your moves after you've been beating of him for 30 minutes. There are many slow-downs in the game especially when there are 4 wrestlers on screen and it gets even worst for a Tag Team Ladder Match.

Included are 10 backstages the hallway, locker room, parking lot, boiler room, sports lounge and the enterance stage for all the events such as Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Smackdown, Raw is War ect. This game is very similar to THQ's previous WWF attempt WWF Wrestlemania 2000, so if you already have WWF Wrestlemania 2000 there really isn't much reason for you to get this until the price drops. The only difference are that there are more wrestlers, the season mode has been improved and there are a few added game modes.

The things holding me back from giving it a perfect 10 is that the game can lag at times, the opponent can fustrate you at times and it simply isn't as fun as WWF Smackdown 2: Know Your Role. However none the less it is a good game and is the best wreslting simulator on the market.

Finally... I've come back to Noooo Meeercy

One of the greatest Wrestling/fighting games of all time. There was a time where I played this game non-stop for 2 days and ate practically nothing because I was distracted by this WWF game.

For its time, the graphics, gameplay and variety of characters were awesome. Just non-stop fun in the squared circle. In addition, you were allowed to have the male wrestlers wrestle vs women wrestlers without any problems. It was so cool, having the Undertaker going against Ivory or Jackie, then delivering them with a tombstone.

Overall, the best WWF games of all time that didn't age too well upon playing recently, though the memories still remain of me having a blast playing this game on the iconic n64.

    Expect No Mercy

Now how can a great game like WWF Wrestlemania 2000 can get any better? Give it a sequel of course.

And that sequel comes in the form of WWF No Mercy! the last Wrestling game that was released on the Nintendo 64 but it gave us a classic that is still loved.

WWF No Mercy contains a very good roster of your favorite WWF Superstars like The Rock, The Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, Triple H, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Trish, Lita, and much more.

WWF No Mercy features more match types that weren't in Wrestlemania 2000 this time you are allow to wrestle in an Iron Man match, Ladder Match, King Of The Ring Tournament and many more.

The controls remain the same as Wrestlemania 2000 and it makes the game a easy transition for gamers who played Wrestlemania 2000 and WCW/NWO Revenge. IT also is user friendly to those who never played it before but it would be wise to master the controls.

The Graphics are a good upgraded from Wrestlemania 2000 with nicer colors for the wrestlers and arenas. The only drawback from the game is the entrances don't show the Wrestlers walk to the ring they just stand on the stage and do a taunt which is a minus.

The Game Play is where the game really shines with a great collection of wrestlers and many match types to play against your friends.

Also the game feature a cool career mode which you have to see for yourself to give it justice.

Overall if you are a collector of wrestling games or just love a great game then WWF No Mercy is your game.

With great graphics and hours of game play you can't go wrong with one of the best World Wrestling Federation video games.

I give WWF No Mercy an 10 out of 10

    WWF No Mercy!

WWF No Mercy is one of the most exciting video games! The wrestlers, the action, the fighting, and the sure thrill of excitement makes this game a fun non-stop playing time! Below is a brief look how I think the game is!

Game Play: The game play is very good. There is really basic controls here and is easy to perform. Novice gamers should have a good time here!

Graphics: The graphics are wonderful especially for the Nintendo 64 System! The backgrounds are really beautiful!

Difficulty: The game is easy but as it goes on you find out that it will become more difficult!

Music: The music is great! Just fantastic catchy tunes through out the game! In My opinion its some of the best music ever in a video game!

Sound: The sound is great. Nuff said!

Overall: I have always loved WWF No Mercy! If you like wrestling and sports games then I strongly recommend you play this game!

Three years later, still the best North American wrestling game out there...

WWF No Mercy was developed by AKI and published by THQ in November 2000. What's amazing is that three years later, despite the onslaught of next-gen wrestling games released,No Mercy is still the heavyweight champ. Aside from Virtual Pro Wrestling 2,No Mercy was definitely AKI's shining moment.

If you played any of the previous N64 AKI games, you'll know what to expect. The game features the most refined version of the famed AKI engine yet. With smooth and responsive controls, the game is really easy to get into. Those new to the game will find themselves pulling off Spaceman Planchas and Dragonranas in no time.

The graphics are done in AKI's tried and true cartoon style, which,IMO,is great. You'll either love it or hate it. While yes,all of the wrestlers have a somewhat, blocky look to them, there's no denying that everyone looks like there supposed to look. There's also some slowdown issues and some minor clipping, but, really, nothing to detract from the overall game.

The animation, however,is practically flawless. Every move is performed just as it is in real life with spectacular camera angles used for enhancement. Whether you're performing a devastating Triple Powerbomb or a death-defying Tope Atomico, the animation is absolutely fantastic.

Without a doubt,No Mercy's replay value lies in the excellent Edit and Create a Wrestler mode. The edit mode allows you to keep the games roster of 60-plus wrestlers up to date(though,in appearance only). The Create a Wrestler(CAW) Mode allows you to create your own grappler(male or female) from scratch and choose from a staggering assortment of different moves, hairstyles, clothes, etc. After completing Championship mode and unlocking all of the items, the edit and CAW features become the meat of the game. You can practically create(or recreate)anybody...wrestlers who aren't in the game, characters from video games games, celebrities, the possibilities are nearly endless.

Added to all that is the near plethora of match types found in the game. Off the top of my head there's Royal Rumble,Hardcore,Cage,Iron Man,Ladder,First Blood, etc. You get the picture. Of course the game features the standard one on one and tag-team matches,as well as the crazier stuff. Though, even those 'regular' matches can be customized, giving you near-limitless match-types to choose from.

Overall, with it's great gameplay coupled with near- endless customization,WWF No Mercy is STILL considered to be the top dog of North American wrestling games. It's no wonder that THQ is promising that their upcoming next-gen wrestling games will feature No Mercy-like gameplay. Many fans have been craving a next-gen pro wrestling game with AKI's engine(aside from Def Jam Vendetta, which was more of a fighting game). Not bad for a three year old wrestling game on a dead system.
