Iman Talks About David Bowie's Death for the First Time at Fashion Week
Iman
Iman has remained largely out of the public eye since the death of husband David Bowie, but on Wednesday the supermodel made an appearance at New York Fashion Week with a sweet reminder of the love of her life. Iman told fashion stylist and journalist Joe Zee for Good Morning America at the Tom Ford show that she's adjusting to life after losing her husband and her mother in a span of just three months. "It's just been a tough year, but I'm holding up," she said. The 61-year-old model and entrepreneur also revealed she was wearing a gold necklace in memory of Bowie.

Beggars of Light: The Nitrate Picture Show 2015
"The music seemed extraordinarily fresh and genuine still. It might grow old-fashioned, he told himself, but never old, surely, while there was any youth left in men. It was an expression of youth–that, and no more; with sweetness and foolishness, the lingering accent, the heavy stresses–the delicacy, too–belonging to that time."—"The Professor's House," Willa CatherHis last words, in a hospital four months later, are said to have been 'Mind your own business!' addressed to an enquirer after the state of his bowels. Friends got to the studio just before the wreckers' ball. Pictures, a profusion, piles of them, littered the floor: of 'a world that will never be seen except in pictures'"—"The Pound Era," Hugh Kenner***Heart Of FIREOften when I go to a movie, usually one made before 1960, I think about the opening scene of The Red Shoes, of Marius Goring and his...

The Essential Cyndi Lauper: Ranking Her Top 20 Songs
Ever since she sauntered down that street in the morning light in 1983, Cyndi Lauper has been a part of the pop culture landscape. Did you you know she’s 3/4 to an Egot? With an Emmy for Mad About You, a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1984, and a Tony Award last year for Kinky Boots, all she needs is an Oscar to compete the showbiz Holy Grail.

Here’s one of her crowning moments last year, as she became the first solo woman in Tony history to win for Best Original Score.

Always an ally, she’s one of the gay community’s staunchest supporters, and in another of her crowning moments, was responsible for reuniting a Daytime TV Supercouple. She even got Noah to dance … albeit like Frankenstein swatting at a bee … but is there anything this woman can’t do?

Today is Cyndi’s 61st birthday, so what...

David Beckham Plugs “Into the Unknown” Series in London
He’s always up to something crazy and David Beckham attended a photocall for the launch of “David Beckham: Into the Unknown” at London’s Serpentine Sackler Gallery today (June 2).

Joined by “Monty Python” star Michael Palin, the English footballer looked a bit rugged with a manly beard as he discussed his new series for the BBC One network.

David declared, “I retired 12 months ago and my whole life, my whole career has been about having a particular schedule that I’ve always kept to, so we just wanted to be able to jump on the bikes and do what we wanted, wherever we wanted.”

Becks and his buddies Anthony Mandler, Derek White and Dave Gardner rode their motorcycles all over Brazil, including the Amazon rainforest.

“I wanted to do something that we would all enjoy - I'm a big motorbike rider and so are two of my three...

Dominique Strauss-Kahn's Life in Jail at Rikers Island
Television producer Joe Halderman, who spent four months at Rikers Island after he pleaded guilty to blackmailing David Letterman, says Dominique Strauss-Kahn's life in jail will be a far cry from his $3,000-a-night Sofitel Hotel suite.

Plus: the three women who will decide Strauss-Kahn's fate, Bernard-Henri Levy on why Strauss-Kahn is innocent until proven guilty, and Andrew Sullivan on the false moral certainty of defending the Imf chief.

Related story on The Daily Beast: Spinning Letterman's Scandal

Dominique Strauss-Kahn will not enjoy any luxuries on "The Rock." He may be treated slightly better than the run-of-the-mill rape suspect-but not much. It is jail, not the Sofitel. No croissants, no café au lait.

After Judge Melissa Jackson denied his bail, Strauss-Kahn was, effectively, no longer the managing director of the International Monetary Fund and contender for the French presidency. He became property of New York City's Department of Corrections. He...

Reflection, Revival, and Renewal…and a Wedding Singer
Allison Strong, Union City, N.J.I went into the O section of my phonebook and pressed "send" expecting to hear the voice of Mr. Jack O'Connor—gifted high school English and drama teacher, play director, mentor, and friend. In my yearbook, O'Connor had written to call him anytime because he would always be there for me. He kept to his word, readily available for conversations ranging from the lighthearted to the serious; from the Madonna "Glee" episode to my recent auditions. This call would concern our trip to see "A Little Night Music," starring Bernadette Peters that Tuesday night. It was Saturday already, and we had been looking forward to this show for weeks. Ring…ring…click. "Hi, O'Connor!" A moment passed before a different voice, a female voice, nervously replied, "Hi, Allison. This is Jack's cousin, Michelle. I don't know how to tell you this, but Jack had...
