I saw this film on a plane ride en route to Calgary from Toronto so I can't exactly say I chose this movie on my own free will. It was really, really bad in my opinion. The best part was the fat ladies licking the chicken poster in the subway station.
I can't say this is an awful film. After all, the actors are all pretty good, which makes for an enjoyable watch.
But there is basically no real story here. It tries to be a "slice of life" type of film and never becomes interesting enough for that genre. Also, the fact that the action takes place in the 90s but the main actors all talk as if we were still in the 60s or early 70s makes for a bizarre experience.

This is a very funny and candid movie about typical characters of Michel Tremblay's literature. To me, this movie is in fact a very ironic portraying of St-Henri and Ville Lasalle inhabitants in the 1960's and 1970's. (All of Michel Tremblay's literature revolves around those characters; he frequently illustrates the daily lives of fat urban ladies staying at home and exaggerates their traits). To me, this movie is very interesting from a cultural point of view while bringing back good memories of people and places. Both daughters of Denise Filiatrault (Danièle and Sophie Lorain) play in the movie. Definitely worth seeing!
