Colonial crap

Drunk Irish dim wits lives guided by the hand of the distinguished English gentlemen. A carcass depiction of the time with zero accuracy. Hated this as a kid and it it's even worse now when you can see all the negative undertones.

Stale and dated, no laughs And than Fox Hunt......

Rather stale and dated, seems to have a laugh track over filmed scenes- Rather ordinary, boring, typical of early 80s- US and British. but then #E4- there is a fox hunt on his grounds- The leads are all very excited and happy. About hunting down a scared fox and letting the dogs rip it apart, or do they just shoot it- 15 people on horses with guns. Lady Diana tried to make them illegal, I think now, with some restrictions. so I turned it off, I 'm finished.

Enjoyable! This series offers a lot of entertainment.

I spent a lovely St. Patrick's Day watching this series. The music, scenery, houses, and costumes are all very pretty. I loved the Irish music that's scattered throughout the episodes. Hearing the speech of the day was fun, too. The stories are pleasant and fun, and give a bit of insight into the issues and how such matters were dealt with at that time. It's got humerus points, poignant moments, and some outright sadness, but overall is a delightful way to spend time. One can escape to a time when things were easier.

Love this series. Has me laughing a lot. English military guy takes the job of judge in a community in Ireland. Takes a while to get used to Irish trickery and customs.

Rich with local color and custom!

After only 2 episodes I can report that this could be a continuation of 'The Quiet Man' but with the central character a Magistrate from London on a mission to make peace with the locals. Adorned with wonderful Irish music, colorful landscapes and a cast of genuine Irish characters, this is a gem of a series!
