Anthony Perkins had special contact lenses made that he could barely see through, so he'd actually be nearly blind while filming his scenes. He popped the lenses in just prior to filming and was led onto the set by a crew member.

According to Anthony Perkins' contract with Aaron Spelling Productions, the film was originally scheduled to shoot 15 days, for which Perkins was paid $30,000.00 plus SAG agreements for outside territories and replays.

SPOLER ALERT: Although the film is (of necessity) evasive about this, it seems fairly clear that the relationship between Katherine and her father is an incestuous one, at least on an emotional level.

The mental patient who sneeringly tells the departing Allan that he'll soon be back is played by Molly Dodd, the wife of the film's writer, Henry Farrell.
