Nice Entry in the Passing Parade

More Trifles of Importance (1941)

Sequel to TRIFLES OF IMPORTANCE, this Passing Parade entry takes a look at two more accidents, which causes doctors to discover medical breakthroughs. The first story deals with a poor woman who would boil various flowers, which causes the kids in town to believe she's a witch but soon a man is dying from heart disease and her creation is going to help. The second story deals with a woman who has third degree burns on her face after a terrible accident. Most doctors are just waiting for her to die but one realizes something after burning his finger with a match. As usual, we get John Nesbitt's terrific narration and it's his wonderful vocal tone that really draws us into the stories. Both stories here are pretty interesting to learn and the director does a nice job at keeping everything moving. At only 9-minutes we can't go into great details about everything but the film manages to give us the basic facts and teach us something most wouldn't know about.
