Primitive

Billy Ruge beguiles village belle. Florence McLaughlin with his car, much to the sorrow of would-be suitor Oliver Hardy. Ruge heads off to the Big City, where he falls in with Evil Companions. He gets Miss McLaughlin to work his evil ways on her. Can Our Hero save her?

It's one of the Vim comedies that Hardy worked in at the beginning of his career, and like many of them, it's very primitive , with the humor residing in melodramatic situations and sheer violence. They are, and this one is rather poor. Its of interest because it's Hardy, and in illustration that the demand for short comedies were so great in this period that even this would sell. For a while, anyway.
