Series creator Eric Kripke took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that filming on the fifth and final season of the show has wrapped. There, he shared an image of himself overlooking the infamous Seven meeting room where the group of seven supes (aka superheroes) convene.

“This is the last time I’ll ever be on this set. It’ll be torn down soon. It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude,” the showrunner wrote. “We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing. You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you’re lucky. We got all of them.”

Jared Padalecki finds his upcoming role in “The Boys” Season 5 and reunion with “Supernatural” actor Jensen Ackles anxiety-inducing.

“I don’t know a whole lot about it, which is effing terrifying,” Padalecki said to Business Insider.

Padalecki isn’t sure of the extent to which he and Ackles, who has played Soldier Boy since Season 3, will interact in the series.

“I don’t know what we’re doing. I don’t know if we like, bump into each other. I don’t know much about it. They’re still trying to write and figure out who’s gonna be there. But it’ll be the end of this month,” Padalecki said.

Information about Padalecki’s character has not yet been announced. Another “Supernatural” actor, Misha Collins, will also be in the new season. Padalecki said that it was Eric Kripke, the “Supernatural” creator who also created “The Boys,” that got him to join the series.

Jensen Ackles has starred in many projects, but he's arguably most recognizable for the role of Dean Winchester in The CW's long-running fantasy horror series Supernatural. Obviously, the bad news was that the fan-favorite series was tapping out following its next set of episodes. On the other hand, the good news revealed to audiences that this wouldn’t be the last time they’d step into the Kripke-created universe, thanks to a newly minted spin-off that was already heading towards production. Previous off-shoots, including The Boys Presents: Diabolical and Gen V, have already given audiences something different, and it appears that Vought Rising will do more of the same. The upcoming title will feature Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash as their deplorable “heroes” Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively, and take viewers back to the titular company’s early days.
