Jensen Ackles Talks ‘Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki & Misha Collins’ Appearance on ‘The Boys’: “Don’t Make Me Look Bad”
Image
With the fifth and final season of The Boys approaching, Eric Kripke has something special in store for fans of his work.

Soldier Boy actor Jensen Ackles recently teased his reunion with Supernatural co-stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins ahead of the Prime Video series’ concluding episodes, for which their characters have not yet been revealed.

“We see each other more often than you would think — honestly, at least once a month,” he told People after they starred in Kripke’s CW series for 15 seasons from 2005 to 2020.

Ackles added, “It was weird. It was like inviting my friends over to somebody else’s house for dinner. I was like, ‘Listen, guys, don’t make me look bad. I got to stay here.’ They were amazing. I can’t wait to talk more about it because it was quite an experience.”

After Kripke expressed his desire to work with Padalecki on...

Eric Kripke Reveals ‘The Boys’ Season 5 Has Wrapped Filming, Teases Impending Series Finale
Laz Alonso, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jack Quaid, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara in The Boys (2019)
The Boys are saying goodbye.

Series creator Eric Kripke took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that filming on the fifth and final season of the show has wrapped. There, he shared an image of himself overlooking the infamous Seven meeting room where the group of seven supes (aka superheroes) convene.

“This is the last time I’ll ever be on this set. It’ll be torn down soon. It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude,” the showrunner wrote. “We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing. You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you’re lucky. We got all of them.”

Kripke went on to share further gratitude for the show’s cast, crew and fans, writing, “To #TheBoys family: thank you, I love you all.

The Boys: Homelander’s Mental Breakdown In Season 3 Shattered The Illusion Of Invincible Heroes, And It Left Us Wondering How Power Can Destroy Your Soul
Image
How The Boys Used Homelander’s Breakdown to Expose the Real Horror Behind Superpowers ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Homelander’s breakdown in The Boys Season 3 wasn’t loud or dramatic. It built slowly, quietly, showing the strongest Supe alive losing his grip on reality. He didn’t fall because someone beat him. He fell because his own mind turned against him.

The cracks started with Ryan. Homelander wanted to connect with his son, but the boy kept leaning toward Butcher. That rejection hit hard, reminding Homelander of everything he never had. Then came Soldier Boy, the revelation that he was Homelander’s father, followed by rejection once again. That moment was more than painful. It confirmed that even with all his power, Homelander was still unwanted.

As his public image stayed polished, the private side of him unraveled fast. He began hearing voices, fighting with himself in the mirror, and calling himself weak for showing emotion.

Jensen Ackles Didn’t Get a 93% Approval To Be Questioned By Background Characters
Image
Eric Kripke’s The Boys has built a notorious reputation for being the most diabolical spoof show that holds back no punches in taking punches at the superhero genre. Over the four long seasons of the show, it has featured several iconic characters like Billy Butcher, Mm, Homelander, Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, and many more.

What makes it intriguing is how the limited screen time did not hinder Ackles from building a massive fan following around his antihero. This has also led to fans doubting his character, ardently believing that a background character from the show can fold him. However, they have forgotten what happened the last time when someone dared to do so.

The Supes Should Put Some Respect on Soldier Boy’s Name

Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) has been a fan favorite since he first appeared in Season 3, making the series a critical hit with a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Jensen Ackles Says He’s Waiting on James Gunn for Batman
Image
Jensen Ackles has never been shy about it. He wants to be Batman. He’s said it in interviews. He’s said it at fan conventions. He even said it with his wardrobe when he dressed up as the Dark Knight for Halloween. The man’s been campaigning harder than some politicians. But at 47, he knows time’s ticking. While the internet keeps dream-casting him in every possible version of the Bat-suit, he’s not exactly sitting in a cave waiting for James Gunn to light up the Bat-Signal. Or is he? Right now, Ackles is busy playing Soldier Boy in The Boys and leading his new show, Countdown, which just recently premiered on Amazon Prime Video. In Countdown, he plays “an LAPD Robbery Division detective known for his cowboy behavior”. If you’re looking for a gritty Batman audition tape, this might just be it. Image Credit: Fortress of...

Creator of Jensen Ackles' New Series Reveals Surprising Season 2 Renewal Chances After Bleak Critic Ratings
Image
The hype was high for Derek Haas’ latest foray into television, when the man behind the One Chicago franchise stepped out with Prime Video earlier this week to debut his newest series, Countdown. From the outside, looking in, the high-octane production had it all: a skilled showrunner and team of writers, a gripping and explosive action-driven plot line, and a cast made up of seasoned vets like Jensen Ackles, Jessica Camacho, and Eric Dane. And yet, when the first three episodes arrived on June 25, they were met with a mixed response from critics and audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, the first season currently holds a 36% critics’ approval rating, with audiences weighing in at 63% after the three-episode debut.

Remaining hopeful about a Season 2 renewal, Haas chatted with ScreenRant and shared his cautiously optimistic outlook about the potential of a sophomore installment and what could possibly lie beyond that.

“I’ve been thinking about Season 2. The truth is,...

Image
Jensen Ackles’ new crime series arrives on Prime Video tomorrow, but it appears the show is going to be facing an uphill battle from the start. Ackles stars alongside Eric Dane and Jessica Camacho in Countdown, the thriller show following a task force assembled to investigate a murder. However, the group finds themselves fighting to save the lives of millions after a sinister discovery. The review embargo for Countdown lifted yesterday, and early reviews for the series began pouring in. At the time of writing, Countdown has earned a “rotten” 50% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. This comes from eight reviews, so it is subject to change if more scores come in. The show won’t have an audience rating until it premieres on Prime Video tomorrow.

Don’t Expect Jensen Ackles’ ‘Countdown’ Character To Be Anything Like His Roles in ‘The Boys’ and ‘Supernatural’ [Exclusive]
Image
Jensen Ackles has held down a lot of character roles in his life, but his latest casting in Prime Video’s Countdown allows him to tap into something completely different. In his own words, the actor said his turn as LAPD detective Mark Meachum gave him the chance to get “into the real world.” While speaking with Collider’s Aidan Kelley on the red carpet ahead of Countdown’s premiere, the actor broke down what sets this character apart from, say, Supernatural’s Dean Winchester or The Boys’ Soldier Boy.

“Well, he’s not having to chase ghosts or fight vampires or deal with demons. He’s not having to deal with superhero powers. So, we’ve taken all the genre out of the stuff that I’m normally doing.”

Although he’ll always have a soft spot for portraying characters from a fantastical universe, Ackles said that Countdown allowed...

Feeling that Breaking Bad particularly stands out as a great TV show with a perfect ending, Kripke said he spoke with some of the writers of that hit AMC series for tips on how to properly wrap the story up.

The Boys cast tease season 5: "There will probably be lots of deaths”
Image
The Boys cast, along with showrunner Eric Kripke, recently talked to Deadline and teased the fifth and final season of Prime Video's subversive superhero show. Naturally, we're in for yet another vulgar, bloody and unpredictable installment, all dialed up to 11 for this last sprint.

By the end of The Boys season 4, Homelander and Sister Sage managed to place loyalist Senator Calhoun as President, essentially placing Homelander himself at the driving seat of the U.S. government. Meanwhile, a suped-up Billy Butcher continues his fight to stop the tyrannical Homelander. At the end of the season, most of the Boys are captured, and Annie is on the run. Oh, and Soldier Boy is revealed to be alive. It's all set up to be one hell of a final season.

Jensen Ackles is best known for his stint as Dean Winchester in the globally popular series Supernatural. Ackles appeared in all fifteen seasons of the show and etched his name into modern pop culture as the series ended up with more than three hundred episodes, a number many television stars will struggle to replicate.

'It's Sort of Tragic': The Boys Showrunner Reveals What Homelander Really Wants More Than Anything Else

The Boys' fifth and final season culminates the long-running Homelander saga, with fans awaiting the payoff to his many controversies and an expected clash with Billy Butcher. As deplorable and self-serving as Homelander can be, showrunner Eric Kripke believes that despite the Seven leader's dastardly ways, there is something less sinister at the heart of the character that fuels him.

Speaking with TV Insider, Kripke teased what fans can expect from Homelander in Season 5 and offered insight into what makes Antony Starr's character tick. Though Homelander is hard to sympathize with, considering his penchant for chaos, Kripke insists his desire to be loved is at the root of his complexities.

Jack Quaid teases "a lot more blood" in The Boys final season
Image
If there's one thing fans have come to expect from The Boys, it's the creators dialing things up another level every season. From the "Herogasm" episode in season 3 to the Deep's deep-sea love life to that Termite scene, the show always pushes the envelope. The upcoming fifth and final season, set to premiere sometime in 2026, will undoubtedly pull out all the stops to be the biggest, wildest season yet. But don't take it from me. Star Jack Quaid recently weighed in on the show's final season. Quaid has been heavily involved from the very first scene. If he says it's bigger and better, we believe him.

The Boys Prequel Series Vought Rising Casts Blue Bloods & Euphoria Stars
Image
Vought Rising, a prequel show to The Boys, adds Blue Bloods and Euphoria actors to its cast. Following the success of The Boys on Prime Video, creator Eric Kripke's superhero satire franchise is now set to expand with a spinoff that takes place in the 1950s, which was announced last summer. Hailing from showrunner Paul Grellong, Vought Rising's story has been described as a murder mystery about Vought's origins, with both Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy and Aya Cash's Stormfront, aka Clara Vought, confirmed to star.

Variety now reports that Will Hochman has been cast in Vought Rising in an undisclosed role. Hochman starred in five seasons of Blue Bloods as Joe Hill and also recently appeared in The Greatest Beer Run Ever (2023). In addition to Hochman, Deadline reports that Euphoria actor Elizabeth Posey, who played Becky in one episode of the HBO show, has also joined the spinoff,...

“The Boys” Prequel Series “Vought Rising” Adds Two New Faces to Cast
Image
Prime Video’s violent superhero series, “The Boys,” may be ending with season five, but prequel series “Vought Rising” is just getting warmed up. Two new faces have joined the cast.

Deadline reports that “Euphoria” actor Elizabeth Posey has joined the cast, while Variety reveals Posey is joined by “Blue Bloods” actor Will Hochman.

“Vought Rising” will also star Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, who play Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively. The pair will also serve as producers on the upcoming series.

“We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of The Boys. It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought. We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious,...

Image
A new destructive, corrupt, and sadistic family is coming together with the news that Blue Bloods’ Will Hochman and Euphoria’s Elizabeth Posey have added their names to the call sheet for The Boys spin-off series, Vought Rising. The pair are the first two names announced to be joining Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash in the offshoot, as the pair reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively, in a series that will uncover the early days of the corrupt titular corporation. As of right now, no further details have been released teasing what roles the newcomers will be cast in, but they had better start looking for a good product to get fake blood out of their hair now.

The Boys stars still don't know how season 5 ends!
Image
The ending of The Boys is not only a mystery for fans, but also for many of its main cast members. According to star Colby Minifie, who plays Vought's publicist (and later CEO) Ashley Barrett, the final two scripts haven't even been sent out yet, despite production on the final season set to wrap in a few months.

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke took everyone by surprise when he decided to wrap up the beloved superhero series with its fifth season. Many fans expected it to go on for a lot longer — I mean, Kripke is the same guy who kept Supernatural going for 15 seasons — but ultimately, ending The Boys on a high seems like a very sensible option.

The Boys season 5 started production in November 2024. Despite already having many months of filming already complete, most cast members still don't know how the show wraps up. The writers sneakily only...

Supernatural Star Jared Padalecki Talks "F***ing Terrifying" Reunion With Jensen Ackles In The Boys Season 5
Image
Supernatural star Jensen Ackles played Soldier Boy in season 3 of The Boys, and the actor who played his father in that series, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, took on the role of Joe Kessler in season 4.

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke worked with both actors when he was calling the shots on Supernatural (he created the series and stepped down from his showrunner role after season 5). However, Morgan's casting left Jared Padalecki as the only one of the show's original leads who hadn't appeared in The Boys.

It's since been confirmed that the show's final season will feature a full-blown Supernatural reunion with Ackles, Padalecki, and Misha Collins all set to appear.

Talking to Business Insider, Padalecki said, "I don’t know a whole lot about it, which is [f***ing] terrifying," he said before confirming he will share the screen with Ackles. "I don’t know what we’re doing. I don’t know if we like,...

Jared Padalecki Says Reuniting With ‘Supernatural’ Co-Star in ‘The Boys’ Final Season Is ‘Effing Terrifying’: ‘I Don’t Know a Whole Lot About It’
Image
Jared Padalecki finds his upcoming role in “The Boys” Season 5 and reunion with “Supernatural” actor Jensen Ackles anxiety-inducing.

“I don’t know a whole lot about it, which is effing terrifying,” Padalecki said to Business Insider.

Padalecki isn’t sure of the extent to which he and Ackles, who has played Soldier Boy since Season 3, will interact in the series.

“I don’t know what we’re doing. I don’t know if we like, bump into each other. I don’t know much about it. They’re still trying to write and figure out who’s gonna be there. But it’ll be the end of this month,” Padalecki said.

Information about Padalecki’s character has not yet been announced. Another “Supernatural” actor, Misha Collins, will also be in the new season. Padalecki said that it was Eric Kripke, the “Supernatural” creator who also created “The Boys,” that got him to join the series.

Image
Supernatural ran between 2005 and 2020, and, despite a definite ending, fans still want more. While the lead actors have teased that a reboot might happen, the Supernatural reunion will come sooner, as the lead actors will reunite on The Boys Season 5.

The satirical superhero show comes from Eric Kripke, who also created Supernatural, and has starred several actors from the beloved fantasy horror series so far. Jensen Ackles joined the Prime Video show in Season 4 as Soldier Boy, and the series couldn't be complete without Jared Padalecki. In a new interview with Business Insider at the 2025 Texas Film Awards, Padalecki revealed how his wife, Genevieve Padalecki, helped the Supernatural reunion happen on The Boys.

"I don't know a whole lot about it, which is effing terrifying," Padalecki started about his role in the superhero series. The conversation about Padalecki joining the series had been going on for almost a year, and...

The Walking Dead Fan Favorite Was Considered From the Start to Voice Invincible Season 3 Villain
Image
The following contains spoilers for Invincible season 3, episode 7, "What Have I Done?", now streaming on Prime Video

Robert Kirkman always knew Jeffrey Dean Morgan was the right man to voice Conquest in Invincible.

After season 3's penultimate episode concluded with Mark Grayson staring down a new Viltrumite foe, the Invincible creator and executive producer spoke with Entertainment Weekly about adapting his iconic battle with Conquest for animation. Morgan's voice, he admitted, was selected for this role "probably since the beginning of the show's existence.... Conquest needs a lot of nuance. There's a tremendous amount of personality there, even though he is this giant, powerful brute that's just wrecking things. And I knew Jeffrey could bring that."

Given Morgan's performance as The Walking Dead's Negan, who infamously made his debut by killing Steven Yeun's Glenn, both he and Kirkman recognized the appeal of having this fight between these two actors come full circle.

“I love you Misha”: Love Story of Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins Explored
Image
Now if you are a Supernatural fan, the title must have sounded hilarious but if you are not a Supernatural fan it must have been hella confusing. Well, rest assured no Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins are not really dating but only good friends after having met each other on the sets of the long-running horror-drama television show.

Their ‘love story’ originates from the ‘ship’ of their respective on-screen characters, Dean Winchester and the angle Castiel (or as we call it Destiel), and their adorable bromance behind the screen. One thing that fans love the best about the CW show is that the actors and crew have been more like a family than co-workers, which makes their friendship even more swoon-worthy.

Image
The boys of Supernatural are reuniting, fittingly, on The Boys. On the surface, there might be a lot of distance between The CW weekly procedural and the R-rated hit streaming series, but the two shows come from the same creative mind, Eric Kripke. The Boys showrunner is best known as the creator of Supernatural and worked on the series for the first five seasons. Kripke has used The Boys to collaborate with many of his former actors. For the final season, Kripke is pulling out all the stops as the main trio of Supernatural will appear.

Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins have been confirmed to appear in The Boys Season 5. Their Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles, previously featured on The Boys as Soldier Boy, is expected to reprise his role. Diehard fans are well aware that Ackles and Padalecki played Dean and Sam Winchester, respectively, in Supernatural. Meanwhile, Collins played the angel Castiel,...

It’s No Supernatural Revival, but The Boys Is Rounding Up Its Cast for a Sure-to-Be Super Reunion

It doesn’t sound like we’re getting a Supernatural revival any time soon, but we’re getting the next best thing:

A Supernatural reunion on The Boys.

News broke on The Boys’ social media channels Wednesday afternoon that Misha Collins and Jared Padalecki had landed guest starring roles on the Prime Video hit’s fifth and final season.

They join Jensen Ackles, who has been a prominent character over the last few seasons as Soldier Boy.

The character’s popularity has opened the door for Jensen to co-lead an upcoming spinoff with Aya Cash.

Supernatural finished its 15-year run on The CW, closing the book on the Winchester brothers' journeys. With the reboots and revivals happening more and more, fans are hoping their favorite hunters will be hitting the road again soon.

The Supernatural Cast and Crew Are Game for a Reboot if the Story Is Right

"He's So Impressionable": 'The Boys' Star Cameron Crovetti Says a Ryan Spin-Off Would Be "Really, Really Cool"
Image
Prime Video and Eric Kripke essentially hit us with a good news, bad news one-two punch when it was announced that The Boys would be ending with its upcoming fifth season. Obviously, the bad news was that the fan-favorite series was tapping out following its next set of episodes. On the other hand, the good news revealed to audiences that this wouldn’t be the last time they’d step into the Kripke-created universe, thanks to a newly minted spin-off that was already heading towards production. Previous off-shoots, including The Boys Presents: Diabolical and Gen V, have already given audiences something different, and it appears that Vought Rising will do more of the same. The upcoming title will feature Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash as their deplorable “heroes” Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively, and take viewers back to the titular company’s early days.

Jensen Ackles: Net Worth, Age, Height & Everything You Need To Know About The Supernatural Actor
Image
Jensen Ackles' success in television, particularly his long-running role as Dean Winchester in Supernatural, has led to a substantial net worth. Ackles has a few film roles under his belt, like Tom Hanniger in 2009's My Bloody Valentine 3D, but he's best known for his small screen roles. Ackles got his first big break playing Eric Brady in Days of Our Lives, but has largely left the world of soap operas behind for popular genre shows including Supernatural, Smallville, and The Boys.

Born in Dallas, Texas, to Donna Joan and Alan Roger Ackles, Jensen Ross Ackles, the middle of three siblings, grew up in a family that supported his artistic ambitions — his father himself was an actor. Ackles moved to Los Angeles in 1996 to pursue acting and has never looked back. In 2010, the actor married model and actress Danneel Harris and they have two children, a daughter born in 2013 and twins,...

The Boys Set Photos Reveal Shocking Season 5 Storyline
Image
The Boys Season 4 ended with Homelander poised to take over the United States government. The final season is looking grim for the human population as new set photos tease what's in store.

The Boys Season 5 will feature a World War II concentration camp setting, based on recent photos shared on Reddit. User True_Cabinet_9733 posted images of what appears a massive compound in the woods with a "Freedom Sets You Free" sign over the entrance. It's also one of at least 47 "Freedom Camps" built, hinting there are more in operation across the United States. "Vernon Corporational Services" is written on the sign, possibly in honor of Robert Vernon (a.k.a. Tek Knight), who was murdered in Season 4. He confirmed a deal with Homelander and Sister Sage to use prisons for detained Vought dissidents, both humans and supes.

Jensen Ackles' New Show Sure Looks Like The Russell Shaw Tracker Spinoff We Need
Image
Jensen Ackles brought his typical masculine charisma to the popular TV series Tracker, and it looks like his upcoming show is the perfect follow-up to his portrayal of Russell Shaw. In Tracker, he plays the formerly estranged brother of series lead Colter Shaw (played by Justin Hartley). Russell Shaw has popped up in a few Tracker episodes, assisting Colter with the tracking down of criminals while also revealing aspects of their family's troubled past.

This character resonated deeply with audiences, thanks to the fervent fanbase Ackles has built up from his time on Supernatural, and now The Boys. Audiences are certainly debating a potential Tracker spinoff following Russell and his interesting life, but the Tracker showrunners have confirmed no spinoff is in the plans as of now. However, Ackles' lead role in Amazon Prime's upcoming show Countdown seems like it might be the perfect spiritual spinoff to his role in Tracker.
