IT'S ABOUT THE STORY, PEOPLE

Anyone who commented about the filter being the reason they bailed 10-15 minutes into the first of a four episode series, is a simpleton, full-stop. It's like someone bailing on Team America, because they used puppets.

Does it take getting used to? Sure. It takes approximately 5-10 minutes, to do so-as you can see from those reviewers who aren't basic AF

The (true) story is great-and one I hadn't heard about, before. That's enough reason to watch.

So, in summary:

great story
interesting approach to the war-genre
four episodes isn't a huge time investment
don't listen to simpletons

The filter makes the series possible in the first place.

Band of Brothers had a $180 million budget in 2020 dollars. This quite obviously, did not.

The filter allows settings to be animated in, CGI vehicles, explosions, etc -- makes the entire miniseries possible. And I'd rather have the story than not, animation and all.

Besides, within 10 minutes of the first episode, I no longer noticed it. Eventually I found it interesting. Great story, engrossing binge, especially for military genre fans and WWII buffs.

Give it time if you like band of brothers/pacific you will like this

Need to give this one a bit of time to get used to the cartoon filter i think this has been done to save money on big expensive scenery in the second episode the story really starts to set in and you forget about the filter. Another great story from WW2 and the brave men and women who fought and based on a true story i really liked it its not the series that is bad at all just the filter being a bit annoying to start with but like i said i think this was to save money

Decent war story

I don't see what the big deal is with the filter. It doesn't take away from the story. I guess some people just have to complain, no matter how petty the reason. I'm a history buff, and it tells an interesting story about an interesting group of men.

Ignore the bad reviews

Yes. There's an filter over the live action. Does it make it worse or ruin it? No. It's bizarre to me that people can't see through the effect and it bothers them that much. There are some really basic people on this that will have you believe this isn't a great mini series. If you like this style of effect check out "a scanner darkly"

Curiosidades
The 45th Infantry Division used a red square with a yellow swastika as their division's emblem starting in 1924. Swastikas were a common Native American symbol, and the 45th was/is based in Oklahoma so it was a tribute to the Native Americans who lived there. Because the German National Socialist party also used the swastika, the 45th had to change their emblem in 1939 to the yellow Thunderbird it has used since.
